Definitely not a bad episode in terms of animation except for a bit of janky cgi with Reiner and Annie.

Let's see how Mappa will adapt the rest of the fight.

I just hope they will use the vocals of Splinter Wolf next episode otherwise it will probably remain unused

It's sad what it came to, these guys have to reenact what they have witnessed almost 4 years ago. They have to betray their own comrades the way they were once betrayed by Annie, Reiner, and Bertholdt. It's too familiar for them. Yet, they do it anyway to try to avoid spilling blood, but things don't go their way. Dumb of me to expect the episode to be less impactful and heart wrenching when the title is literally "Traitors".

Some people still argue that it's ridiculous how both sides made up and are now working together, where the fuck do you see that they made up? Annie jumps on every single opportunity to guilt trip them or talk down to them. She's not buddy-buddy with them. The scouts aren't really doing this because "Yesterday's enemies, tomorrow's friends". They do this because their set of moral beliefs opposes what Eren is doing, and even then, they still have hope they might be able to talk him out of it without having to kill him. They're totally tormented by their guilt and sadness, you think they got time to brood? What other option do they have for example? Sit there and wait for Eren to destroy the world? Witness conflict arise on the island? Live in a dictatorship? Be brainwashed again? Hange said they were once ignorant, they can't go back to being ignorant. They won't easily accept that.

I would say difficult episode to animate, but it was great seeing the Female and the Armored together. Last time we saw them fight together was back in episode 1 I believe, the only time too I think. Some things here and there could have been better. OST choice not the best this episode, but I think they managed for the most part.

Loved the last scene. I really like how Isayama always finds a way of inserting flashbacks and old events to communicate characters feelings, but also to give more meaning to those past events. Both the Eren and Bertholdt flashbacks spoke volumes in this episode.

So sad that this part is going to end without concluding the story. I hate these interruptions.
I sometimes forget to finish my sentences.

The production was really struggling this episode, the composition was awful and characters were off models in some shots,
Still really enjoyed the episode, most of the music choices were nice, and we got some decent action scenes in the end
The voice acting was top-notch as always, the anime did manage to elevate the manga to an extent, most notably the Connie-Armin-Samuel scene.

Overall 8.5-9/10 i think

Now the PREVIEW for the next episode !!!
It looks really goooood, especially Mikasa wiping the blood sequence is very fluid, as many fans on twitter are saying it looks like Kojima is working on the next ep
,can't wait for the staff list on Wednesday.

So I guess if 1000 people want to kill you and your family for no reason at all, you will let them have their way with your family members, simply because they are more in number? You gonna tell your mom to take it because it's more virtuous to do so? Ok Jesus Christ

You are no better than them for supporting someone going to the very extreme in order to solve a situation that's impossible to entirely solve. Armin and co. have blood on their hands for the attack on Liberio and for killing innocent children and civilians, just like Reiner and co. did in their attacks on the wall. All that will happen if Eren succeeds in his plan is the battlefield becomes small enough to make human extinction inevitable.

Remember that the Great Titan War in the past was the result of Eldian infighting with the titan shifter powers being fought over between different families. The whole reason King Fritz (the one Tybur refers to) committed to his vow of renouncing war was because of the monstrosities his people causedin that entire conflict. You can see through Floch who gets hailed as a "chad" despite being a tragic character for how deluded he is by the effects of the cycle of violence that he misconstrues Erwin's phrase to unify humanity instead to support the pursuit of ignorance and embracing being a monster, justifying the world's fear of them in the first place. It's insane how many people knock the Alliance for actually wanting to put an end to that horrifying cycle, the point IS that they all have blood on their hands because of war, but even with that and their disagreements they can still attempt to fight towards a better future than Eren committing to his grave mistake. Eren has become the same evil as the Smiling Titan except even worse because he KNOWS his actions are wrong while committing to them, hence him telling Reiner "I'm the same as you." It's what makes him a great character but I also think the Allliance hate is tiring and glosses way too much over every part of the story that isn't Eren in a vacuum.

You can't blame the Yaegerists. If Eren didn't see the future they'd all be dead already. The world attacked paradis first. Eren just wanted to protect his people. Showing the threat of the rumbling wouldn't have saved them. It would just prolong the inevitable. Eren made the right choice. Connie, mikasa, Armin and the others betrayed eren. they bring shame

Another great build up to a really good episode! Especially the second half which was all action which was AMAZING!
The voice acting in this episode has been done so well and I loved it as well as the soundtrack that has been used.
They left off the ending of the episode so good I really wanna see next episode getting animated right now!!

I am sick of Eren's plan, but I also hated Connie, Armin, Hange and Mikasa in this episode. I already hated Annie and Reiner.

What's this feeling? Isn't it normal to agree with one of the two parties?

I think my pity for Yeagerists has led me to deviate from logic, Who does not know that killing all the people in the world is wrong?

I hope Yeagerists kill at least some of these bitches like Annie or Magath.

They have 4 shifters and an ackerman, and the majority of the yeagerists are not trained with ODM gears...
yet no one got a single scratch, other than Armin who can regenerate anyway, and all the yeagerists just stand there without even trying to shot anyone before they are immediately killed, plot armor at it's finest

This ending is starting to suck, and i didn't read the manga neither do i know how it will end, it just feels like the story is getting progressively worse

I only remember him because I rewatched S1 a few times.

Probably his most memorable scene

Sasha saved him

Connie killed him

Fucking brutal

And Daz pretty much memorable for puking

Mappa is on a roll. That transformation scene was epic. I have to give credit for Connie's VA as well, he did an amazing job.

It was so heartbreaking to watch once comrades kill each other.

Armin was useless as usual. I feel like this time is really the end for Floch. Not gonna miss that Erwin wannabe tbh.

WTH of course Connie was wrong. He could've shot him in the leg or something and threw him in the water. I dunno but they technically are traitors cuz they would rather save humanity over seas than protect their own. Yeah genocide is bad but ultimately it has nothing to do with them lol. Do you think the people overseas would care if the island was wiped out? Nope. Survival of the fittest. Life sucks.

One of the biggest things I don't get here is why everyone, specifically Mikasa, is so militant about defending Kiyomi. Unless it's her desire to save as many lives as possible, which is completely fair, it doesn't make sense to protect someone who you know only cares about you as their political slave, wanting to marry you off and force you to rule over land you've never seen when you don't care about politics at all, while you watch her bleed your home of resources and impoverish its people for her own sick gain. She's really had a lot of development post time skip, something that I can't be thankful enough for, but this really is confusing me.

Other than that, banger ep. Just wish mappa gave their animators more time to fully hand draw Reiner and Annie because they looked incredible when drawn out. But eh, the CGI is really good so it's not much of an issue.

To me, I don't see it as betrayal because they are not trying to actively kill him. If Eren's willing to crush the whole world, it's safe to say he's pretty desperate. I wouldn't find it outside of the realm of possibility for him to accept being stopped if it meant his friends could turn the world's perspective on eldians somewhat to "yeah, they seem pretty cool," allowing them all to finally live.

This episode had 2 parts basically
The first one more dialogue and the second way more fighting and emotion
The way Reinier and Annie killed those guys was crazy
Connie´s meltdown just goes to show that neither side is wrong, even though they hate the fact that they have to face old friends they are only fighting for what they think is right!

+1 for the show I guess. That's what the show is trying to show, no good sides here. Even the people who are trying to do "right" things and compensate for the damage Eren is about to cause are forced to do "wrong" things to reach their goal. That's what happens in wars. Everyone has to get their hands dirty and it sucks. I pity Connie because his conscious will eat away at him.

I'm not buying everything from Azumabito, she said something like that with the fact she was into Rumbling as well, though its minor one. But still, she literally supported Mini-Rumbling because it was targetted to their common enemy and Azumabito agrees with reasons that bring them political and economical benefit. Your true politician blood is showing, so fuck your morale.

I have mixed feeling about this episode, Alliances are not wrong but Floch and Yeagerist isnt wrong either. Theyre just fighting for something they wanted to fight for.

Goddamnit, just end this fucking war.

Finally, someone else who hates Azumabito as much as I do. She's greasy imperialist scum who's just as bad as Floch. I'm just hoping this alliance isn't going to cede to her self-centered demands, for Mikasa's sake (because face it, if azumabitcho wins we all know poor Mika's getting married off and forced into rule), and for the sake of all islanders not being held as consumer slaves to Kiyomi's desire to loot and plunder the island, and sell the fruits of the islanders' labor back to them for her own profit.

Connie is a cold blooded murderer. Daz, was shown as a very scared person, but when it came to protect the Trost district, while he was scared as hell, he fought because he had a sister and a family to protect. He then joins the yeagerists, because he things that that way he can protect his family. He was able to survive the terror of the titans only to be killed by some trash, who wants to protect people who want eldians dead. A fucking murderer

A cold blooded murderer would not bat an eye when he kills. He wouldn't feel a single ounce of remorse in his body and wouldn't hesitate. Connie is not that. Is he a murderer still? Yes. I mean he probably killed a few more people in Liberio as well. What you fail to see is that Connie doesn't have a choice here. It's either these guys or Armin. When he shot Daz and Samuel, Connie was freaking hysterical, crying, and screaming of pain. What could he have done there? Watched Armin get shot in the head and then the airship, their only remaining hope, get blown up?

The whole point here isn't that Connie or anyone else are murderers, the point is that everyone gets their hands stained in war. Even if your intentions are good, even if what you're trying to achieve is morally "right" or acceptable, to achieve it, you're going to have to do wrong things. Bottom line, war is never the answer. Violence only creates more violence.
