Beastars has enough material for a second season and Houseki no Kuni didn't have material for a second season at the time.
I heard that they skipped a few scenes from the manga and made some changes and that makes me feel like its just a commercial for the manga but i hope i'm wrong, this is definitely one of the best anime this year for me.

Some People are really overstating how much has been skipped. This is NOT a mess like Tokyo Ghoul. Sure, some details are missing and a couple scenes, but nothing that breaks the story or characters.
It's not a commercial for the manga except in the sense that you need to wait for a second season for the continuation :)

The contrast between Legoshi and Louis shown in this episode is amazing. He's a carnivore who wouldn't even kill in self-defense. He's a herbivore who easily kills without thinking of consequences. Both aren't what you'd expect. Strong statement made about stereotypes.

I really like the relation between haru and legoshi. I'n very curious about what's going to happened next.
I very surprise by the actions of louis how he's goonna end. Wondering if legoshi will be kind and control himself enough to not eat haru.

Holy crap this episode was brilliant! They toned it down slightly from the manga (I had to read it after this episode) but I was surprised at how well they did the Louis murder scene and the Hotel scene.

Holy crap the whole hotel moment was freaking brilliant! Especially when they went to that still Art moment with Haru being almost inside Legosi's mouth. So good.

FUCK

I LITERALLY UJUST FINISJHED IT AND THE ED IS PLAYING THE BACKGROUND RN LIKE FUCK ME

FUCK

im okay

I actually am devastated like everyone saying that there will be only one more episode I really convinced myself this would get at least 24 episodes I hope evryones wrong because I stg

okay so I love legoshi but that white vest really made he look like a crackhead im sorry

also that bit with louis had me shook, I thought it was the panda guy but when it was louis is screamed. I feel a bit sad, because louis probably decided to go to try to save haru, but it was too late as legoshi had already saved her. plus when you think about it, it must of taken louis much more courage because being a herbivore he isnt as strong, even if he has a gun lol also I wonder why he decided to get himself in for the lions to eat him??? why did he give up at that specific time? is it because he'd realise that haru has probably fallen for legoshi, we did see how much haru meant to louis as well. can I just say, I love how its like the contrast how legoshi, a carnivore, purposefully didn't kill the lion asshole dude meanwhile louis, a herbivore didn't even hesitate to? that contrast is pretty cool

also the comedy in the middle was really need to break it up and give a bit of a breather, but then the hotel

just, where do I start

I wont, yall know what im going to say which is basically a keyboard slam of emotions. but can I just say, harus instinct bit at the end- I really- I-

Louis has thought of the consequences, hence why he's prepared to die.

Yes he did say something about dishonoring himself. Didn't take that to mean he's given everything up. Will find out next episode I guess. The character studies in this show are fascinating.

im really mad about one little change they made. in the manga, louis throws his gun when the lions ask him too, it was cut off in the anime and it just takes out the feeling of the scene. louis actually went in there to get eaten, he was feeling suicidal at that point.

One thing I forgot to mention about Paru Itagaki's writing style, that I like a lot and that is really apparent in this episode: she doesn't dwell on drama too much.

Just imagine what kind of situation Legosi's confession would result in in a lot of other shows. Where they would use misunderstanding after misunderstanding to milk every bit of drama they can. I mean... even the fact that it's Legosi telling Haru, and not some "coincidence" by which she finds out about their first meeting, is kind of spectacular in this medium.

And here, it's just "yeah, I kinda figured that out" and it's pretty much dropped, because it just makes sense for Haru to get it. She also lays out her thoughts pretty cleanly. Actually there are many scenes throughout the show / manga, where situations are resolved in a fashion less messy than you would first suspect - sometimes by throwing a really nice curveball.

This was probably not just the best episode of this show so far, but one of the absolute best of this entire calendar year. I feel like I'd just be repeating some of my previous comments about character writing etc. if I went into details, so I'll just mention that visual metaphor of the escalators, which I really liked for some reason.

Also, fair play to Louis for going in to help after all and not just accepting the corruption of the mayor's request.

Best episode so far. It's a shame THAT SCENE wasn't adapted, they ought to put it in the next episode.

I never felt such an emotional rollercoaster with an anime episode before. This is the bluntest proof of the internal conflicts both Legoshi and Haru have to endure, and also Louis to some extent. It's a shame we won't see him for a long time.

Nooooo I wanted their love story to happen this episode ! Considering there is only a last one, I guess it won't happen this year...

Still, another fantastic episode, Legosi & Louis turning into beasts (each one in their own way) was very solid to watch.

Man, this was such a fantastic episode. Another more with a 5/5 score for this great series.

I absolutely loved the voice acting and regarding some scenes, the escalator metaphor, though made for comedy purposes, was very well executed and the way how the mirror in the hotel room was used to contrast Legoshi and Haru's past and actual encounter was simply beautiful.

So, this series will only be 12 episodes long in the end, uh? Such a shame but well. Though disappointed, I'm really looking forward to this show's final episode!

Wait, have Legoshi and Haru just left without checking Panda guy? I mean he fought most of the Lion gang for Legoshi and they haven't tried to find out if he's at least alive or not?

Otherwise - awesome episode!

You can see a bamboo arrow stuck on a wall with a note saying "Good luck" when Haru and Legosi were exiting the tower. That means Gouhin is okay but he was also already done so he went home probably.

Legoshi did it, he used everything he had to save Haru. They are now safe, and about to cross a line. I mean, Legoshi is still safe because Louis-senpai showed up after all, and finished the lion boss. I hope he is fine though, since he didn't appear again after that scene. Oh, and there are no more secrets between Legoshi and Haru. He told her that he was the one who attacked her, and she took it well, so they really are set for something more if their DNA and/or instincts don't end up getting in the way. Their difference in height is a bit unsettling though.

And lol, seeing a wolf and rabbit who try to have sex, that's quite something.

So...

There´s no police? I can believe the police not actively pursuing the mobsters, but after they walk out of the lion´s den it´s VERY weird that they do not go straight to the police.

And Haru just shrugs being almost killed when she should be under some heavy PTSD.

The anime was great until this episode, but the aftermath of the fight with the Shishigumi is freaking retarded.

So a buffed panda with a crossbow managed to wreck a lot of lions, eh? Lions? Very naive, if you ask me, even for anime. ;p

Louis had his hero moment, but... man, is he dead? Even with some ammo in his gun it would be hard to defeat remaining lions. I hope he will somehow survive, but I doubt. :( If he's dead, then Legosi is somebody who can definitely become that famous "Beastar".

I loved the visuals and general atmosphere presented in this episode.

I thought the instinct would be fight or flight; not leaping into the mouth of your lover. That makes no sense. I'm sure there's not a rabbit out here that would willingly leap into the mouth of a grey wolf.

Why is nobody asking why a group of mobsters aren't all armed? And why after struggling don't resort to contacting or finding guns themselves? It's all so convenient yet surprisingly, nobody here cares. Nor does anyone care that Louis, without any buildup shows up late and blows some guys head off and presumably gets himself killed or captured. This is isn't even acknowledged in the next episode. Feel like a crazy person reading these comments.

Interspecies relationships are difficult, and this episode conveys that perfectly. It's a little sad though, seeing Legoshi being tempted by his carnivorous desires as well as Haru's instincts. Very sentimental episode.
