The "Big 4" have taken the anime world by storm. They have introduced many of us to the world of anime and have each set massive milestones in the anime community. But many people inside the anime community absolutely hate it. So, I just wanted to ask you guys - What are your (honest) opinion about the "Big 4" I haven't completed most of the "Big 4". (They are on my on-hold list) The only Big 4 anime I've completed is Fairy Tail. |

One Piece: I've read the first three volumes of the manga and watched random episodes on Toonami. I'd probably like it but it's too long. Bleach: Saw random episodes on Adult Swim. Can't stand it. Naruto: There was a time I wanted to get into this. That time has passed. Fairy Tail: Another one I wanted to get into. Looks like it went to shit as it went on though. |

Personally EY's my fav, but KPMG is a close second due to their consistent quality. Never cared much for Deloitte. Their history is a little concerning...I'll shut up now... One Piece - Probably would be my favorite of the four, but I'm not sitting through something that never ends. Bleach - Was pretty meh, but not terrible. Naruto - I'm too old and jaded for something like that. Fairly Tail - Looks and sounds awful, but I haven't tried it so I can't really say. In general, the long shonen shows are just not for me. I don't have any ire towards them, though. |

Bleach - saw a couple of episodes, was never interested in it. One Piece - same thing here. Fairy Tail - It's pretty good at first, then got repetitive with its "friendship" concept; how they're able to defeat their opponents by friendship. I liked it when I was in high school and a noob in anime. Naruto - grew up with it. It's a great series, the only thing I dislike about it is the amount of fillers it has. |

Now it is reaaaalllyyyy bad. Even the manga. Bleach was mediocre at best. OSTs were good and had its moments here and there. Naruto is worst of all. FT Good start but with every arc its getting worse. |

Out of the Four, only Naruto and One Piece are good. The Bleach manga is good but not the anime. Fairy Tail has that weird Nakama power and a lot of fan service so I'm not really a fan. I stopped watching One Piece a long time ago. I dunno the reason ー_ー. I'll be picking it up again when(read-"if") it finishes. Out of the Four, my favorite is Naruto of course. It was one of my first anime and I love it and treasure it. And yes, I've watched all four. Quite an achievement I think. |

Naruto - My gateway into anime and favourite anime of all time, I know people complain about the war arc and the filler, but I actually like the war arc and the filler. Bleach - I used to love it, but I felt it went downhill towards the end of the series. One Piece - Its great, but it drags on and is repetitive. Fairy Tail - The characters and music are awesome, but the tone of the series puts me off, though I might try to watch it again. |

I haven't seen a single episode of One Piece, their count and the artstyle puts me off, but I might try it out one day. Naruto I have a lot of sentiment for, and while it started out great, with time it got worse and worse. I think the plot getting bigger and bigger in scale hurt it. It was still cool when it was actually about ninjas and there was some sort of suspense in fights and all that. When the villains were actually interesting, like first Orochimaru and later the Akatsuki. The war arc was garbage and dragged on for too long. Even the way Naruto goes from a hard working lonely boy, through son of hokage to later be 'the chosen one' and finally a reincarnation of some super god is kind of lame. Still, I remember it nicely, but it did feel steadily worse, with a short comeback of quality around Pain Arc and Nagato being genuinely interesting character. Bleach I have seen about 140 episodes of and it just got dull to me. The Soul Society was somewhat cool and exciting, but later on not so much. But the worst part for me was lack of characters I liked. I only really cared more for Rukia, while the rest is either completely boring and uninteresting (like Ichigo and Ishida) to outright annoying (Orihime). I might return to it, as I hear there are some more good arcs, but atm I don't feel like it. Of the three I have seen, Fairy Tail is easily my favourite. It just does stuff right. It never pretends to be overly serious or doesn't introduce any convoluted bullshit (like Izanagi and Izanami in Naruto, or the whole Hashirama cell bullshit and basically everything being a huge mess) and the comedy is the best of shonen easily. The fanservice is nice, the music is just amazing and the cast is absolutely lovable. It's the only shonen I love pretty much all characters of. The fights are also cool and don't need characters dying every episode to be interesting. It seems to be getting a lot of shit from 'omg good animu taste' trolls, but you can't even call that criticism. All they can really say is 'lol tits fanservice power of friendship no one dies' which is absolutely worthless and doesn't say anything about the quality of the show. |

I've only really seen the first couple of episodes of each. I am generally indifferent to them overall. Watched the first 10 or so episodes of Naruto back when it first aired on Toonami. It was during a time where I was in an "anime sucks" phase for a few years, but I think I was looking for an anime to get me back in. I don't remember hating it, but I eventually lost interest. It wasn't until Death Note that I got back into anime. Similar with Bleach. I saw maybe the first two episodes around that same time, and it was alright. Both Naruto and Bleach I'm probably never gonna get into, as I'm way past that age to be into really shounen-y anime, but me and my brother like to watch whatever random episode appear on Toonami and laugh at how confusing and stereotypically shounen they are (too many characters, long drawn-out battles, sometimes multiple at once, where they mostly just talk or have flashbacks, etc.) Seriously, watching a random episode of Bleach or Naruto without any context is comedy gold. One Piece I didn't watch until way later. I went through the first 20 episodes, and actually enjoyed it quite a bit. I don't think I have it in me to sit through 700+ episodes of it though. I've only seen the first episode of Fairy Tale a while back, and it was meh. Again, at that point I wasn't interested in these types of shounen anime. |

Naruto is the first long-running anime I watched and completed, most movies included. Fairy Tail I pretty much completed as well save a few episodes nearing the end of its run when I finally decided to love myself. Also tried to keep up with the manga for both... Bleach, I tried watching when I was a bit younger but lost interest and didn't feel like catching up. One Piece, when I was younger I really hated the art style so I avoided it, but as I grew older I never got into it because the episode count is way too daunting at this point. My opinion? Great way to get people hooked onto anime for the first time, but once you start watching more anime you realize that they're all trash. Then again, I'm a HxH cult member so most other action/adventure Shounen suck to me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ |
Anime was the catalyst of my life's downward spiral. Joining MAL was the nail in my coffin. Every day I keep screaming into the void, but god just tells me to shut up. |

Honestly up until last year I had only heard about Naruto and One Piece, and was never particularly interested in seeing neither of them, particularly One Piece with its horrid art style which made my eyes bleed. The other two I only knew about them when I joined MAL by the end of last year, and only Fairy Tail caught my interest (haven't finished it, have it on hold, one day I'll complete it, just not now). |

One Piece - Best thing that ever happened on Planet Earth. Painful pacing but since I'm experiencing stuff for the first time in the anime version it's always exciting enough to make me not mind the pacing too much. I take the slow pacing over having like 30 episodes of filler per year like in some Naruto years any day of the week tho. Naruto - pretty damn good if it wasn't for all the fillers ruining the flow of the story. But I still love the world, main plot (and side plots) and a lot of the characters and towards the end of Shippuuden even the fillers got good. Bleach - pretty bad all things considered. First arc was great but afterwards the only thing making it watchable is Kubo's cool designs and eye for stylish fights. The whole cast is utterly boring and the writing is ridiculous tho. Fairy Tail - pretty solid fun, lots of cool arcs and decent characters but it definitely declined harshly after like 150 episodes or so. The later arcs just aren't the same and it also became more and more watered down by fanservice, even more so in the manga from what I hear. |
I probably regret this post by now. |

I'm sure Fairy Tail wasn't part of the Big Three back in the time (mostly because it's not published in the same magazine as the other three), but well. I remember to like Naruto and One Piece quite a lot back in the time, but I eventually ended bored of them due how dragged off they were (One Piece due the horrible pacing and Naruto due the fillers), and in One Piece case I also lost interest in the manga after how underwhelming I found the Fisherman Island arc. I was a very big fan of both Bleach and Fairy Tail in hte past (Bleach especially), I was one of those shounentards who wasted his precious time theorizing about the upcoming events of the series and stuff. However, due the fall in quality of both shows, I eventually became uninterested in them. |

One Piece: Amazing, but I am watching it dub which is way behind the anime,a nd last I heard the anime go to shit in the timeskip. Bleach: I love it until after the Aizen arc where the quality went down Naruto:Started with Shippuden and saw some of the og. While I did like it, the war arc got messy and had lots of flaw. FT:Love pre-time skip, the time skip I either love it or hate it, is just an abusive relationship with great set up, awful and I mean awful paid off. Unfortunately many long running series start losing steam as it keep going. You either end great or keep lasting enough to become bad. |

One Piece: I've read the manga years ago and I have enjoyed it all the way before the timeskip. Then the timeskip happened and it started off poor with that underwater arc. I stopped following right around that Luffy and Law exchange during that gas guy arc, but I did find One Piece rebounding back up. Never picked the manga back up right after, as I'm not much of a manga reader I have never watched any of the episodes for Bleach, Naruto, and Fairy Tail, so I don't have an opinion of them. I'm not interested in watching any of them seeing how long they are and my completionist complex and I've heard enough bad things to not make me want to watch |

Btw at least in my age range it was dragonball z and sailor moon that got people really interested in anime and paved the way for these "big 4" My personal opinion is that I like them. For the most part only the first couple seasons had my attention with the exception of One Piece who has somehow managed to do it up until now. Bleach had a lot of potential but the creator seemed to have just burned out. |

Naruto was one of the first anime I ever watched on TV when I was younger. Never watched shippuden, but I finished the whole Naruto series in manga form and really enjoyed it (except the war arc which dragged on and made every character but Naruto Sasuke and Kakashi irrelevant at the end) One Piece was the first anime I watched online and caught up to. I was totally obsessed with it a couple years ago. This is what really got me into anime, but the pacing and animation have become too horrible, and I gave up at episode 700. Still read it every week and is one of my favorite manga series. Bleach hmm I was an edgy teenager when I watched it so I really enjoyed it. Dropped it after Aizen was defeated though. The plot of this anime makes no sense and most characters are stilish, but boring. Now Fairy Tail, I started watching it since I heard it was similar to One Piece. Well it was way too similar and had poor writing. Enjoyed the earlier arcs, but I don't even remember at which part I dropped it. Wasn't really as memorable as the other Big 3. And with everyone here saying how shit it is, I will probably never pick it back up again. Tl;dr I was pretty young when I watched all of those. One Piece manga is great, Naruto was pretty good and Fairy Tail and Bleach are bad, but can be enjoyable. Series like Hunter x Hunter and Gintama are way better than those four. |

One Piece was so good during end of Thriller Bark until Marineford. Other than that it is overrated dog shit. (especially since the time skip). The first Naruto series is the best generic battle shounen I have seen, Shippuuden was huge a mistake though. Bleach is garbage. Soul Society is the only watchable shit in this shit. Fairy Tail shouldn't even be a thing. |

Never got into Fairy Tail or One Piece. I read some OP manga books like years and years ago but that's it. The things I've heard and seen about FT make it seem like a big waste of time, and it doesn't appear to have anything that the other 3 don't already have. Bleach I was relatively into when it began airing. Unfortunately the filler season after Soul Society lessened my hype, and the arcs right after that completely killed it by mixing the filler with the canon. I never got back to Bleach after dropping it during the Arrancar arc, but it has been interesting to follow people's reactions to the manga ending. I'm glad I didn't keep up with the manga, I would've been fucking frustrated with Kubo. Naruto was the only one out of the big 4 that I was really into for a longer time. I still think part 1 is pretty great, and I absolutely loathe the things Kishi did to some of my favorite characters in Shitpooden. I'll probably never finish watching part 2, and I skipped straight to Boruto which has been surprisingly okay so far. Must be the lack of Earth-destroying super beasts. That said, all of the "big 4" are more or less garbage. Gintama >>>>>>>>>> all |
