| @SuperRed If you're referring to the the belief that miracles and healings are not possible, that spirits don't exist, and so on, then I'd say I'm not surprised. There is so much filth and evil that is viewed as being under the umbrella of Christianity and so many spiritually dead churches that it's frankly not a surprise that most people think Christians are a joke, are cynical concerning them, etc.. They've never encountered the real thing. I believe that will change in my lifetime. As for the rest, I wasn't planning on talking about every topic in relation to the world system, and I don't know how much it would profit at the moment, if it would profit at all, so I don't mind leaving it at that for now. I just want to say that not all Christians are like that. |
| @Feaor I admittedly haven't done much research into the matter. My current stance on the voter ID issue is merely a base observation, and not the point of my post. The point was simply that you're negatively generalizing a very large group of people without really saying anything substantive. Saying "people who believe x are hypocrites" or even "x group is hypocritical because it believes y" is one thing; generalizing negatively without saying anything specific, on the other hand, doesn't further anything and tends to provoke hard feelings and maintain division (although I'm not personally upset, to be clear). That's part of what I'm saying about people needing to talk to each other more than at each other. |

I talk to people and read discussion from all across the political spectrum, and while I don't agree with just about anything from people right of center, given that I'm pretty leftist, as long as they are willing to be intellectually honest, I'm happy to engage them. If God heals people, then why doesn't he ever make a kind of healing miracle in public that cannot possibly be faked under any circumstance (like restoring an amputated limb)? Well, a healing ministry requires an immense amount of humility, for one. The temptation to think of one's self as being partly to credit for the healings, or to not fully give the glory to God, is harder the more public the ministry is. At that, the person God used to perform the healings would come under an immense microscope and scrutiny; any misstep could try to destroy the ministry's testimony. Further, there's a temptation to focus on and make a spectacle out of the healings themselves rather than focusing on the message and the Healer behind them. So, if I were to guess (I cannot say for certain why God has not because He hasn't told me), the reason it hasn't been videotaped and broadcast on mainstream media is partly due to those reasons. There may not be anyone humble enough, responsible enough, and broken enough to be able to handle such a ministry at present. It might not be the right season for it, with everything aligned so that the Spirit can flow as God wishes when such a ministry starts its public work. There may be blockage in the spirit realm, with those who are capable of being used in such a ministry needing further time or help to fulfill their purpose. So on and so forth. All of that being said, there are indeed some ministries that hold healing conventions from time to time and give all the glory to God, which are public to the extent that the healings are seen by all who are present. I haven't heard of amputation healings specifically happening at them, but all sorts of healings have taken place at different ones. It's not something the mainstream media reports on, though. | So is Gone Home actually worth playing? I downloaded it after seeing it was free a few months ago but haven't touched it. Reason why I ask this now is because my 3DS circle pad broke whilst playing Smash and now I can't play Pokemon Moon any more and am very sad and need something to take my mind off of that. |
