| As some of you probably already now the second season of Super Lovers got announced yesterday. Since Super lovers is a BL anime that portrays the relationship of a sixteen year old boy and his twenty four year old step brother it was only a matter of time before the shit hit the fan. The complaints were many and varied ("IT'S GAY" – ain't nothing wrong with that; "Yuck a grown man screwing an eight year old boy" – Ren was sixteen when they started screwing which is perfectly legal in majority of Western countries and whatshisface had no romantic/sexual feeling whatsoever for him when the kid was eight so that's BS, you can't compare their relationship to the one Joseph Stalin and Nadezhda Alliluyeva had; "Ren looks so young" – sure, I don't like that either but I could say the same about KyoAni's moe blob girls; "Being pro fictional pedophilia = pro real life pedophilia" – you mean just like pro fictional violence = pro real life pedophilia huh huh amirite???), but they all had one thing in common: YAOI SHOTA FUCKING SUCKS AND IS RUINING ANIME! Yours truly doesn't think that that is the case because while I don't like shota or even borderline shota (so I understand if some people might not want to watch it) and I only rated Super lovers 5/10 I don't really think it's ruining anime since it's nowhere as popular as e.g. moeblobbery, lolis and ecchi harem fantasy BS (which I despise just as much or even more). So, my question to you is: do you think yaoi shota is ruining anime? Discuss No ad hominem or trolling pls, let's keep it civilized my honeybuns ~ |

| I think it will be fine if everyone just ignored it. I heard about lots of stuff because of people protesting against it and how it will cause chaos if it became popular, only for it to backfire and actually become really popular. |

So even if there were a few more different yaoi series out then it ain't destroying shit. (though is it even shota? I mean the dude is 16). | Well, first of all, the ages of these drawings mean absolutely nothing. Whether he's "16" or "18" or whatever, he's still a fictional character and therefore that aspect doesn't bother me in the least. Secondly, no....yaoi shota isn't ruining anime....that particular genre is miniscule compared to the entirety of all anime. Lastly, I really think we need to get off this meme that "X is ruining anime".....anime is perfectly fine the way it is. All tastes are subjective, and I as long as people keep watching, I see nothing wrong. |

At that exact instant, the who guys from Super Lovers appeared in Macross Delta episode 10, and started fucking Hayate in the ass. Needless to say, this completely ruined the anime. |

| No, shota yaoi will not ruin anime, just like loli and moe won't either. Anime is not a single pie where if a genre is popular, it will take the place of the others. Every genre that is popular helps bring more money to the industry which is a good thing, especially if you can target new demographics, like the female yaoi fangirls. |
| Dude calm the fuck down it's one series lol. It's also not really shota. The first couple of episodes have Ren as a kid but for most of the series he's in high school. And Haru doesn't do anything beyond kissing him until episode 9 where Unless they actually have sex in episode 10, which I haven't seen yet. But the series is pretty tame, really. Haru is a bit creepy but he never actually does anything sexual with Ren and he knows it's probably a bad thing to try. I'm not saying people have to like it or watch it or whatever else but please. Fujoshi may be "ruining" (actually enhancing) the anime industry but it's certainly not with shota lmao. |

| Is this srgoument really an issue worth a debate? Shoujo ai, shounen ai, BL, yuri, shota, loli, are all subgenres always existed since manga and anime were created, you like it you watch it, you don't like you watch something else. Plan and simple. All the argouments like fiction vs reality, calling names on other people tastes, trolling, are just redundant, stupid and make no sense at all, fiction is fiction and drawings don't have human rights nor it rapresent a real human being behaviour. They aren't mainstream at all, they were and still a niche for a niche fanbase, like many late night anime. Mainstream anime are show like Sazae-chan and One Piece. So in the end who cares, is just personal tastes. |
