Update April 1st is now officially over! We hope you all enjoyed being Site Moderator for a day. Thank you for participating in our prank again this year – and we hope you'll all forget April Fools exists before next year, so you can enjoy it again~ Just as a minor note: The announcement was not intended to be passive aggressive in any way, shape, or form. It was written entirely tongue in cheek. In overall, I think we have a great community and the vast majority of our users are understanding, considerate, and helpful. We weren't trying to confront anyone indirectly or bemoan our positions; we were just having a little fun. Happy April Fools! Last weekend our Easter Bunny went on vacation whilst leaving others in charge, and we thought that it went over so well for him, the rest of the moderating staff would follow suit. So, we racked our brains and thought, thought, thought: who could we leave in charge of the site? And then it came to us. Why not YOU? Time and time again, when you have demanded politely requested something perfectly reasonable, we have heard, "This is MyAnimeList!!!". Finally, we are listening to your cries and we concede. From this moment forward, MAL will become YAL. Yes, that's right. It is now YourAnimeList.  There is a lot of work to be done, so come on. Don't sit there all starry-eyed. There will be plenty of Anime Additions to keep you occupied. Make sure to keep a close eye on picture change requests as well. And before those are finished, you'll also need to deal with the Manga Additions. Of course, there will always be conflicting opinions about what's allowed on the site… ...but we have confidence that you'll handle it well. As an aside, you are all well aware that moderators don't have lives. Everybody knows that. So be prepared to live without sleep! Who needs sleep anyway? Who even needs food?  While you're handling all that, we'll be making our escape heading AFK. We won't write, so please don't call. Our vacation begins! Just after that much needed post-party nap…  |
