| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Great. The previous discussion topic is gone. Aw, man. I’m enjoying this so much I can’t even begin to think about comparing the 1999 ver. and this one whilst pointing out things. Nostalgia fills me up every second. I feel young again. … somehow, I feel sort of reassured now about the kid-friendly-approach rumour after giving it more thought or perhaps I’m overanalyzing the ED’s hints, huh. Anyway, we’ll probably now in about two weeks, if they decide to cut out the most critical scenes of the Hunter Exam. I hope not. BUT THE OST. JDFIOTGRIODGOR WHY. I CAN’T GET USED TO THAT. THERE’S NO WAY IT’LL FIT WHEN SERIOUS STUFF COMES AROUND IF IT FEELS ALREADY OUT OF PLACE. … I’ve got to refresh my mind with the old one and be happy. edit: BUT, WAIT. I JUST NOTICED IT’S HIRANO YOSHIHISA… and since I am freaky biased fan of his, I can feel if only a tad relieved – unless they’re aiming to maintain it childish all the way, it’ll change into darker grounds when due. The man’s got experience with that. I can’t wait for Killua~♥ …and Hisoka, as well. … waiting a week is hard. |

| Who cares which one is better? At this pace this anime will probably reach Greed Island (we see a character from Greed Island in the opening so that's what I asume), and they will probably slow down after that. |
| Nostalgia. It kills me. So good! Moreso, the pacing is really good. Since it covers the most important parts, it might as well rush ahead and continue where the original series ended. Also the ending. Superb. |

| I'll say it just to clarify all your concerns about pacing. They've aired 2 episodes and these episodes have covered 4 manga chapters. Do you call this fast pacing ? Don't make me laugh...there were times when naruto adapted nearly 4 chapters per episode. This adaptation is not fast yet, it is normal. It is the previous anime that started slowly, so don't complain about pacing |

| I kinda like this fast pace. Saw old HxH too, but watching this i don't really feel there's anything very important left out. Also it feels really fresh. Well, ofc it's becouse IT IS FRESH! xD All this new animation, music and stuff... Really enjoyable.=] |

| 2x speed again, I never liked episode 4 (2d half of this episode) that much so we are over that. Big mistake that it wasn't noticed leorio wants to be a doctor... Anyway still LIKE it. Next episode will be the start of the test already!! introducing killua and hisoka yaaaay :3 |
| Holy fast-pace. The more I watch, the more it feels like I'm being herded along the plot and it's no fun. There hasn't really been any time to get to know the characters, so the only investment I have is what I gained from the original series. I was hoping the anime was being redone to draw new fans, but if this is what they're being offered, that isn't/won't be the case at all. One of the things that really bugs me, small as it is, is that they keep blatantly referring to Kurapika as a boy, when it still hasn't been confirmed or denied in the manga. Togashi's made a point not to reveal the gender and I feel it's taking some of the "mystery" and fun (not to mention the androgyny) away from the character. The next episode will really make or break my feelings for this retelling. If the rumors about Hisoka are true... if the voices for Hisoka, Killua and Satotz don't give the right personalities... I'll still watch, yes, because I'm a hopeless optimist, but I'll be checking out. |

| They made it more condensed which makes it more interesting concerning ''boring'' episodes like this 1 (my opinion) (rare are the boring episodes of HXH). The problem could be that they condense everything , some effects of the original series becoming inefficient. |
| I loved the way they cut Leorio's bus ride, it covered the same material in far less than half the time. So far, I'm liking the pace. The original was far too slow. I just hope that this means that they'll skip or condense most of the pointless explanations and battle conversations that made the original so hard to watch. |

| That was a rather curious little question there. I would of answered 1) as well for the first question. The Kiriko creature looks kinda funny to me. It can talk and has this weird grin. Anyways, great episode :> I couldn't tell apart the two creatures either... |
