I'm an anime/manga otaku, why else would I be here?
I read/watch just about anything, but I tend to enjoy the shonen series with a lot of action (just not the DBZ definition of a lot) and a good plot the most. The plot is a crucial part of that statement. So many series lack a concrete plot that they're not worth the watch. Such is why YYH, FMA:B and HxH are some of my favorite series. I also enjoy the ones that get the viewer thinking, cause if the audience isn't engaged, it's just as pointless as if it were lacking a plot. This is why I find Death Note and Chrno Crusade fascinating.
I'm a major fan of any and all voice actors, as it seems many American fans don't pay them the dues they're entitled to. If you religiously watch a series and don't know any of the VA's names, you've got some studying to do. I can identify most any of FUNimation's VAs by ear and can rattle off a list of other characters they've done and recently, since I've been watching more Japanese sub than English dub, I've been picking up more and more of the Japanese names and voice trees.
I'm an RPG and LARPer. I've played all sorts of things from Deadlands: Hell on Earth Wasted West to Schaermarchen and Houses of the Blooded to Vampire: the Masquerade (my Brujah lasted the 9 years the game did!). My first D&D character was an Aasimar Cleric who got drunk on holy water and owned a talking, flying ax named Buster. I love her to bits and now play her Drow/Aasimar mutt of a Harbinger son, a Tiefling Druid, and an Aasimar Monk in various campaigns. For a number of years I was heavily into anime-based forum role-plays, but fell out of them and am now looking to find another group.
I crochet and do nalbinding. Taught myself with the magic of YouTube and general common sense + trial and error. I make whatever I feel like, from dice bags to blankets and hats to slices of pie and stuffed animals. I also knit, but it's a pain in the butt, so I stay away from it if I can.
I'm a pokemon geek. Never gave it up as "uncool" in its dark ages. Give me a Swampert any day and I'll destroy things. Wonder Trade is one of the best things that's happened to the franchise in recent years. In GO, I'm a member of Valor pushing level 40 (I attribute all I know to Trainer Tips on YouTube).
Aside from anime, I'm a Doctor Who nerd now [Doctor Who nerds are cool]. I own every episode starting from number one in 1963 though I've yet to get through them all. Person of Interest is my favorite show, and I'm still ticked at CBS and Warner Bros for being more concerned with money than a good product. Also, total Fannibal. Really love NBC's Hannibal. NBC itself, not so much.
