| Good action and animation, they cut out alot of the stuff from the manga, but that's inevitable. One thing I didn't like was the voices in the dub I watched, which is to be expected, since these are all minor characters apart from Guts. Looking forward to seeing how this turns out. |

| Rewatching this by the Box of War DVD-set. Funny how i decided to be more open minded and watch this with an english dub, it didn't include it...truly, man has no free will. I have read the manga, but i'm giving my opinion on the show alone, not how it par's with the manga. The episode was ok, but gives too much questions and spoils the viewer. I'm glad that when i first watched this show, i skipped the first one and started from the second one, then came back and watched the first one--> much better. And this show looks kinda low budget. When compared to Slayer this looks more stilted and cheap. Maybe the animation team tried to mimic Kentauro Miura's(?) artwork so much that it brought down the animation. The small details are nice though. |

| Was it dark when the anime was flashing. It has to be dark. Hurts man. Anyway, I guess we can't really say much about episode 1 without watching the rest of the show, so get on it people. If you really liked episode 1, try the manga. ITS AMAZING |

| I've read the manga and though about checking out the anime, although the manga art style is superior, the anime looks pretty good especially for the time it aired. Love being able to watch Guts (the main character) be a bad ass :) |

| I've read the first 12 volumes of the manga, but this was confusing. Everything was all jumbled up. The OP sounds like a lost Pixies gem, and the ED was pure Smashing Pumpkins circa 1995. Both are great. But that techno song in the middle of the battle sequence sounded really corny. All that said, I really liked it. Didn't love it (yet), but I want to keep watching. |
