| okay episode. The dogs voice was weird but his story was really sweet. I hope Nami grows up, I found her to be really annoying in this episode, with her hatred of pirates. I figure Pirates, killed, raped, and or messed up her life in some way so now she will forever hate pirates. damn, Luffy and zorro just saved you...Besides she is in Denial, just a thief..no you're pretty much a pirate stealing treasure, stealing ships, etc. overall good episode. |

| I actually cried in rewatch of this one, recently. It was the first emotional hit of the series for me but I didn't remember it to be so effective. |
| I felt sorry for ShuShu, but the voice made me laugh... I was just imagining some lady in recording in the studio... just barking to a microphone and whimpering like an idiot. |

| I'm sorry for the dog and his owner. The whole thing about him guarding that pet shop was really heart-warming and sad... T_T Gum-gum hammer (Y) :D I really do like Luffy's attacks. Cool ^^ For your ideals, you have to risk even your life. That's the spirit major! Nami finally joins them. Cool crew Luffy! Looking forward to watching the sequel. Only 636 eps more for me to catch up! |

| Like jal, this seemed a lot more emotional for me on the rewatch then it did the first time. I wonder why that is... I idea of having a treasure is interesting, and something Luffy can relate to. I think Luffy's relation to that is part of what made the dog's story stick this time around. I'm liking how much Luffy is challenging Nami's heavily one-sided view of pirates. The character interactions are golden. I think there is a marked contrast between Buggy and Nami as well. While Nami steals, she doesn't hurt people in the process. I don't think that justifies her actions, but it does help highlight Buggy's evilness. He's completely self-centered, unlike Nami, Luffy, and Zoro. While the element of surprise is gone and the type of anticipation is different, I think I'm enjoying this even more now than I did the first time. I know it's early in the show still, but I don't think I'm jumping the gun in saying that. One Piece is like wine; it gets better with age. cantius said: Where the hell are the townspeople? They fled. This was stated by the show. |

| Episode 6: Good episode and Shushu is so cute, Mohji you big weird freaking jerk of nature doing that -w- Zoro saving Luffy with the chosen background music is just so awesome it just shows here how loyal Zoro can be for Luffy :3 Nami joining them although not as a pirate is great :3 |

| I've never been so emotionally attached to a dog, what a surprisingly great supporting character. I actually teared up. Luffy is such a respectable guy, both the #1 pirate hunter and the #1 pirate hater have to see it. The use of the dogs touching story to show Nami not all pirates are evil was really nice. I'm excited for the Zoro episode next! One Piece has honestly had such a great start, definitely one of the best shounen starts, if not the best I've seen. |

| Mohji came to hunt down Luffy but he ultimately failed the moment his lion had the urge to destroy Shushu's treasure just for a box of pet food. The first stream of tears fell from my eyes when Luffy gave back the box to the poor dog after that build-up with the flashbacks and the dog struggling to defend the store ;~; Zoro got stabbed so he carried a cage all the way down there, slept off a serious wound, and just complained about having the house blown up. That's badass~ Now Buggy destroyed the Mayor's treasure and he's fed up of everything he'd done. With the three banding together against a common enemy, there's no way they'd lose! |

| Man, other than the voice acting for the dog this episode was really sad. Especially the flashbacks of the dog and the owner, and hate that beast tamer guy lmao I hope Chouchou is ok by the end of this, one of the most loyal dogs I've ever seen in anime :] |

| How is Buggy not dead after taking the canon head-on? Chouchou's a pretty smart dog. They shouldn't have made actual VA's replicate a dog's bark lol Looks like Nami has joined the crew. I'm surprised that Zoro survived that blast but again this is a shonen so I shouldn't be nitpicking. |
