I thought Stoner was the best character in this ep. And I was actually most moved by what he was saying at the very end, about that photo.

That was a cool episode.
The part that cracked me up was:
Eureka: "So being a Dad IS important, That's why Renton was so aggressive"
Holland: "WHAT?!"
*runs away looking for renton*

So Renton´s dad was potentially the one who could go with Eureka to the Great Wall and end the present world but chose not to because of his children? And in the ensuing swell died?

Good episode.

"So being a Dad is important, That's why Renton was so aggressive!"

The look on Holland's face was priceless and when he started running to look for Renton was hilarious. xD

Funny episode.
Though at first I was so mad at Renton for saying the ABSOLUTE worst thing in that situation. It was like the writers made him say that just to move forward the plot. It was out of character. But, he apologized and made up for it.

When will they kiss? Eureka still hasn't told Renton she loves him.

I think it's one of those animes where the kiss between the main characters comes during the last episode, maybe even the last moments of that episode. I hope for you I am wrong though as you have been asking for it A LOT haha.
Personally I don't care one tiny bit about the kiss.

The chain reaction of misunderstandings in this episode made for some great moments haha. It was also nice to get a little more info about Adroc and the circumstances of his death. Looks like Renton wasn't even the first candidate as a partner for Eureka but that his dad had that potential as well. Guess it's because they share the same blood, but this does make me wonder what the criteria are for being a partner.
Also it is unclear why that seven swell was going to get everyone killed... Renton used it before and it only affected the people within it's range and served mainly as a temporary powerup for Nirvash.

Gotta love Holland, what a protective parent :D He was so funny when he was about to cry when he saw Renton and Eureka cry, and then someone was like, "leader?" X)

Yeah me neither. Maybe it's because I don't really care about the two of them. If anything, I would rather romantic moments between Talho and Holland than Renton and Eureka.

This is the first time Holland went after Renton and it was actually funny.

Glad that Holland finally grew up. Was cute when he asks why he has to go with Talho, and they say "You're the father?" lol

Man, those misunderstanding were worthy of a romcom x)
But the resolve of it was cute, especially Eureka saying that he was like her father. We also finally knows how he died.

Stoner, you magnificent fucker :')
That's such the best idea he could have found. I thought in the first place that they would find a video of Adrock speaking about corolian and his hopes in them.

I find the whole Eureka doesn't know anything about families thing kinda stupid when you know she's the mother of 3 kids, like she should know something by now.

Someone in the Stoner scene thinking, I thought they would make Renton the new hero? well, I was almost right xD
The question isn't "What anime do you like?" That is merely a list.
The question is "Why do you like it?" That tells a story. Your story.

Awww, Renton isn't ready for sex with Eureka or anyone.

When Moondoggie was gonna ask something, I'm guessing it was gonna be "can Eureka even have sex?" - because I was thinking the same lol. Or something like that.

When he and the other guy went in Renton's room with porno though! LOL!

Renton just understandably wanted to know about his father who he didn't know hardly from Eureka, who doesn't get family ties because she ain't no human, she doesn't get it ... my mom said "then if she's not human, why is she crying?" lol. Kinda ... I was like because she's sort of becoming more human lol. But not human enough to understand family bonds apparently.

But yeah, since she takes care of three kiddies she should really understand it, she cares about them, she should know other people care about family too. Weird.

Sometimes Renton is so stupid, holy fuck. But, in general, I really liked this episode. Moondoggie asked the important questions, the misunderstandings were really funny and I really hope that Renton and Eureka stay together. Also, Adroc interrupted the thing during the summer of love because they were waking the Coral scub? And I don't think that it would be possible for a Colonel pull a coup d'etat like that.

Idk man..I just feel like all these cute little slice of life hijinks episodes should have come much earlier on in the story. We're reaching the final stretch and we're seeing episodes with Eureka messing up her make up and Renton getting caught looking at lewd mags..
All of this happening while corilians are eating up time-space in front of our eyes. This show really took a hit in quality post Charles&Ray arc. With the tone of the show, I think that would have been a really good concluding arc, of course wrapping up Renton and Eureka's relationship as well.

Good episode overall, although I have my issues with it. Again, the best episodes of the show happens when the main overarching plotline is not the focus and its the main characters and their progression that is the main talking point instead of the episode.

Eureka and Renton were initially in a little bit of an argument since Renton was a little mad for Eureka not revealing information about his father way sooner and had it as a secret, but Eureka never really felt like she needed to say anything cause she never got the concept of families to know how important it is to Renton. It led to some misunderstandings somehow that got some of the crew to think that Renton's argument was related to sex via a magazine and that caused more and more little misunderstandings, kind of like watching a sitcom from the past. At least they both managed to get advice and then be able to talk to each other, getting to understand each other better in the process. The photo of them riding happily on the longboard a while back is going to be used in the next edition of their magazine, and I will say, its such a beautiful and charming photo mainly cause of the wide smiles and real happiness on their faces.

The problem though I had with this episode is that firstly, while I can understand if Eureka wouldn't completely get the concept of families since she was never born with one unlike normal humans like Renton so doesn't know the impact of how Renton would feel if he didn't know information on his father who left him when he was younger, the thing is Eureka has adopted 3 kids to the ship as her own so she should get some grasp of it regardless. It felt the whole family subplot of the episode feel a bit dumb in that aspect since its clear that she cares for the three of them and is smart enough to put everything together but nah, no mention of the three kids happened here. Also, I feel like all of these revelations should have been done earlier in my opinion, with not much runtime left its like the show's just trying to quickly fill in the blanks in my opinion rather than actually placing them at fitting times with right spacing in between to let everything sink in. Just an opinion though.

My god, this ep is cranking up the awkward level to 11!

I personally hate to see comedy where they utilize a form of misconception to misunderstanding to deliver the punchline. Here, I despise how the women and men thought that Renton is advancing on Eureka too aggressively to the point that she ran out from him, glad this mistake was corrected. However, while we're on that subject. Moondoggie has all the right to ask whether Renton and Eureka 'can do it' , whether you look at it from a physiological or psychological standpoint, it matters. Can Eureka's coralian body reproduce? Is Eureka prepared to bear a child? They're all legitimate questions, but ofc the women snapped at the men for that. Heh... Women am I right?

At the end of the day, we know that Adroc cared more about his family than Eureka, though he made up that mind quite late. Another thing we knew about now I that Eureka might have already had this appearance when she was found. In that case... Can she even physically grow at all?

I laughed so much this episode, it was such a funny yet wholesome episode. Best one so far! What people in the last 3 posts before mine don’t seem to understand is that they are following Eureka and Rentons relationship like a real one, not an anime fall in love at first sight kinda deal. Ofc Renton from the first episode was infatuated with Eureka because she was pretty and was drawn to her, on top of the fact that she fell out of the sky essential and spiced up his Boring everyday life. This show does great pacing the relationship between the two, first 12 is breaking the ice and Renton getting to know Eureka and them becoming FRIENDS before anything like in REAL LIFE, then then his trial towards her “kids” then their friendship beginning to grow and blossom as they get to know each other, and the now that they’ve become an item, like any teenage young couple hitting puberty, they’re going thru their first trial, and it so happens to be the “birds and the bees” talk. What the other 3 above also fail to understand is that neither of them have had any guidance in this sort of intimacy prior to this point. Renton’s parents are dead and Axel only taught him about mechanical work, and Eureka just appeared one day and started piloting the Nirvash. The shows pacing in that regard isn’t off if anything it’s been perfect so far. People just want to get to the pew pews and politics. Like this is Gundam.
