THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
The show starts off right away with a Nanairo Button insert. Ryuguu Komachi isn't looking too great. This is the episode I've been waiting for, when they mention Ritsuko's past as an idol. Azusa ends up leaving and her face swells up...just a tiny bit lol.

Iori and Ami try to get Ritsuko to help out. She doesn't want to, she even tries to get Miki to take Azusa's place temporarily. In the end she does it, we get a little bit of dancing. Ritsuko gets hit with thoughts in rehearsal and stops dancing. She practices in the park and Kotori comes to visit her.

At the concert, Azusa has a message for all the fans...with a blanket over her face hahaha. Ritsuko goes on stage and sings Ippai Ippai! She looks like she has a blast with it. In the real-life concerts, whenever Ritsuko's seiyuu sings Ippai Ippai, it's always a highlight for me.

The ending is Mahou wo Kakete. Small cameo from the DS crew in the ED as well. Ritsuko is unbelievable cute in this, she needs to let her hair down more...and get rid of the gravity defying pigtails.

The next episode looks like Kuroi is up to more stuff, and it's probably a Takane episode.

It was nice to hear Ritsuko sing again even if it's as backup for Azusa and her pigtails are back if only this once, but Ritsuko with the normal pigtails at the end and her hair down are better, that business hair style she dons all the time isn't sexy.

Ritsuko's EP =D. Iori and Ami treating Ritsuko the way she treats them during practice XD. I was surprised miki didn't decide to fill in for Azusa when Ritsuko asked her. She's definitely changed and matured. Hopefully they'll show more about Chihaya as it showed up again like it has been the past few weeks.

I'm happy that Ryuugu Komachi is actually "playable" in the PS3 version.

Yeah, I'm glad Namco has finally learned their lesson after getting bombarded from the IM@S fans. I'm sorry for all the Japanese Xbox 360 users though. :P

Namco learned their lesson and released it on a proper system where more people can access the game, 360 sucks in Japan and IM@S was one of the few Japanese games that is decent.

I second this. They did play some pretty good songs.

I think Ritsuko would've been better without the braids. Just my opinion though.

Ritsuko was such an ass to Miki - who deserved a lot more screen time.

WHEN IS MY NEXT MIKI EP!?

Frankly, I wish they'd stop wasting episodes on uninteresting characters.

I don't think we won't get another Miki-centric episode cause, she's already featured in many episodes.
Episode 6, 8, 11, 12, 13. she already have 5 major roles in those episodes and already have 1 sub plot, 1 brand new song. ( I counted in ep 13 cause she has that new song)

Let's do a tally count before episode 19(excluding ep 1,5,10,13,15 because those are group episodes
Haruka - 3, 4, 11
Chihaya - 4, 11, 12
Yukiho - 3, 11
Yayoi - 2, 7
Ritsuko - 6,18
Azusa - 6, 8,9,18
Iori - 2,6,7,9,18
Makoto - 3,8,17
Ami - 2, 6,9,18
Mami - 2,9
Hibiki - 4,16
Takane - 4

Stop being greedy.

When the drill sergeant is on stage herself she's shaking like a leaf! Very nice to see her perform for once. To think she even has a fan club left over! The ending slides of her as a teen were also very cute.

Looks like Takane will be in the spotlight next episode! =)

My man, Iori's ass is a miracle of the universe.

This episode had a lot of bad animation, most of which features Iori, which didn't make me a happy camper at all.

This. This episode was surprisingly enjoyable, in a fun and cute way. Ritsuko's expressions and responses to the events around her were the highlight of this episode.

I prefer the business hairstyle over the pigtails, though; the gravity-defying pigtails are just silly. Letting her hair down apart from a ponytail would be best though.

You could kinda count episode 13 (the big concert episode) as being an episode for everyone except the Ryuuguu Komachi characters.

I still don't understand why they had to put Ritsuko in the two openings. I don't know whether she is playable in the games or not, but to people like me who hasn't played it, it really looks like she was put there just for this episode.
Don't get me wrong, I don't hate her (she is an okay character), it's just that she is ruining the whole 12 girls team image in the openings imo. I mean the whole game/anime is about them, isn't it?

Pleasant as an episode, a bit of space to Ritsuko we wanted, I wanted to know a little something about her.
Not bad storytelling, fun and serious at the same time.
Azusa was tenderness, his face a little swollen.
The drawings and animations were not as bad as in the TV version.
I hope that in the future we are talking a lot more of the characters and their past.

It was nice to see Ritsuko turning into an idol once again. Especially liked how at first she was the one who was being the strict and bossy one (I admit she was just doing her job but I found it a bit too strict for my liking) and then she stepped into the Idol shoes and realized how hard it actually was. Then she went like "I got it, dammit!" Found that very nice.

I liked that rehearsal, twin braids suit Ritsuko surprisingly.
And I loved how she got scared for a second that she might disappoint everyone due to her being Azusa's replacement and Azusa not getting to perform. But then she realized that at least one person will be there who supports her no matter what. I love this theme a lot. True, as long as we have even one person who are properly looking at us then we get the will to fight. Honestly, one of the most beautiful scenes in this anime. The way they executed was really well-done with the green glow and a white shadow of a man, also the music was perfect.

Lmao her face when everyone was like good luck. I love her haha. And I feel "L-leave it to me (w-what should I do... I wanna return home heck a lot...)"

That was a great performance. She was shaking at first but then she saw the green lights and gradually got the confidence. You know, at first it bothered me how Ryuuguu Komachi got all the praise but they never really showed why it deserves that praise. Actually, it's alright that way. Ryuuguu Komachi is the reason many of the remaining 765 idols have gotten popular, it's the reason of the increase in their jobs, it's pretty much their first concrete energizing spot. Directly or indirectly, it's the reason many characters were able to develop. So I feel the whole Ryuuguu Komachi thing is very important to the story. And I love all the members in it. They were kinda "sacrificed" (for the anime fans) to make better things happen. I think, eventually the watchers realize the true beauty of this group and get to appreciate it, which is always nice.

One of the best episodes so far. Brilliantly executed. And Ritsuko's character development was great.

That was a cute episode. We got to see Ritsuko as her former self, and to see all her old fans there made me tear up. I also want to mention how Miki has developed! She passed up the opportunity to really be a part of Ryuuguu. :) She's content where she is now that she knows she can shine no matter where she is.

Ooh, looks like Ritsuko's having an idol come back due to Azusa's absence.

One of the scenes when Azusa called Ritsuko while she was sick, there was an album (I believe) called "Star Platinum" on Azusa's room. Huh, interesting.

I really liked the ending where Ritsuko's fans were among the audience, way back there. It was quite heart-warming! And to be honest, I wasn't expecting that.

Honestly, though. I haven't said this before but I feel like Ryuuguu Komachi's members are too randomly picked. Which kind of makes sense since if I remember correctly, the "out-universe" reason it was formed is because of the voice actresses being unavailable. In my opinion, Iori's personality synergizes more with Yayoi, and maybe even Hibiki. While Ami without Mami feels a little weird. Although I'm talking more from a character dynamics point of view. Since I only casually like idols and music. But yeah, this is just me preferring to see interactions between the idols themselves. And The iDOLM@STER is more about the relationship between the idols and their producer. Don't get me wrong, I like the anime. Like, why would I still be watching it? I just felt like pointing that out.
