I think it started off excellently and as time went on, I cared less about it. It's more of a slice of life rather than anything else. Very refreshing and sweet.

I'm gonna skip the manga entirely. Thanks, Usagi Drop for great moments.

This episode did a great job wrapping it all up by encompassing the main sentiment of the importance of parenthood and the warmth of family. The conversation between Daikichi and his sister really highlights just how much time parents put into raising children and how it shouldn't be a half-hearted, whimsical commitment. I really liked when Yukari said "The time I spend at work is my time. The time I spend with my son is also my time." I think the thing that Daikichi didn't realize is that to those parents, living for their children is the most precious means of spending their time.

Usagi Drop has been such a heartwarming and sweet, down to Earth SOL that emphasizes the role of a parent and how important it is for a child to receive that warmth and support. Daikichi and Rin's antics were always fun to watch and the atmosphere always made it feel like I was watching real people living their daily lives. There were also many moments that I could relate to and connect with. Certainly not from a parent's perspective, but definitely when I was a child. Some of the things Kouki did made me roar when I think about what outrageous things I was doing at his age too.

Another theme I really took away from this is just how much adults can learn from children. At one point Daikichi questions who is raising who. It really goes to show that just like kids learn from their parents, so too can parents see the world in new colors thanks to their children. Usagi Drop was a nice reminder that adults shouldn't become too prideful and should keep an open mind when listening to children, as they can offer much needed perspectives that are lost in the process of growing up.

9/10.

This was a very good anime, I had a smile from start to finish.
It;s so light hearted and fresh, you care for the characters pretty much from the start.

Didn't like this as much as I expected to,didn't really get emotional attached to the characters like I had hoped (one main reason was probably cause I couldn't get the manga out of my head while watching this).

Feels criminal to give this a 6/10 but feel this doesn't deserve a 7/10.

I should've enjoyed the show more - now I feel guilty OTL 8/10

The finale was quite boring. Well i didn't hate, but i didn't like it either. I think the last episode needs something special, like Rin being adopted by Daikichi. Or Daikichi getting a girlfriend. Now it seems like he'll be forever alone. :P

7/10. Lost one point because of the ending.

Easily 10/10, one of the most beautiful series which I've seen. Well it definitely changed my way of thinking about parenting and kids in general (even if I have 2 much younger brothers).
I have only one complaint, it was definitely too short. And if they would showed a romance between Yukari and Daikichi, even 1 or 2 episodes, it would be in my top 5 for sure. Anyway, it's still in top 10.

It was heart warming and inspiring with daikachi taken care of his grandfathers child Rin when nobody would not. The story is very good because daikachi had to change and adjust his life to accommodate Rin. The dude was willing to become a parent and adjust his schedule for RIN and that to me was cool. I wish though he found a woman to love.

Beautiful and unique animation, topped off with the awesomeness that is both Daikichi and Rin. It has so many masterfully done tearful moments that managed to incite tears from scenes that were it from any other anime, simply would not receive the same reaction.

This is a fantastic series for people who are new parents or looking into parenthood. 9/10 and deserves a top 10 ranking.

the last episode was kinda cute but also showed something that bothered me (again)...and that is Kazumi getting married despite the fact she totally didn't seem sold on the idea plus already having disagreement about such an important topic as a kids with the person she is marrying. She is also gonna be another Haruko...or Masako?

I watched this anime only now for the anime challenge,6 years later, because i dislike kids (yeah,i didn't even really like Rin,sue me) and i heard about the manga ending years ago and just,i couldn't stop thinking about it and even now it's just making me sick. And it absolutely doesn't matter that

And there are other many things that bothered me. It's like Wolf Children all over again...everyone is loving it and i am sitting here like...meh. I am giving it a 7 (which is not much considering i am rating from 5).

Disappointed with the ending, not what i wanted, feels so forgettable and dull.

Loved the drawing style and the pure warm characters, but the story could've been explored more and they could've added some strong moments that will stay with the viewer over time, personally i think i won't remember 90% of this series after a year, it lacks strong scenes.

Other than that all is good, but nothing is really excellent and stand out, from Animation to sounds to OST to atmosphere.

7.5/10

Overall Good slice of life, at least better than most of SOL for me.

Amazing short series. After finishing this and the specials, I can say this is one beautiful piece of animation and storytelling. There is nothing complex or remarkable about the story. It's pretty simple and straighforward, but the way the story is told is superb. Of course, with unforgettable characters, a realistic setting and great dialogues and interactions between characters, this is an easy 9.5/10 for me.

On the other hand.. It's kind of sad knowing the ending of the manga, which I find absolutely sickening and that ruins this whole innocent and charming little story. I will try to forget about that and remember Usagi Drop for moments like this one:

This show makes me happy, soothing my confused soul thoroughly. Heartwarming series i fell in love from the first episode, straight feels right away the art really pictures so much emotion especially when the first time Daikichi met Rin, you can see how lonely Rin really was by just looking at the art, truly beautiful. Amazing character development and i hope Daikichi and Yukari aka Kouki's mom really get together in the future they would make such a cute family. So they went for original ending for the anime, haven't read the manga yet but looking forward to it.

That's a solid 9/10, Rin will be missed ofc :')

Noooo! I can't believe I just finished the entire anime in just 7 hours. Lmao.

I slowed down my video since I'm watching this anime at 1.40x and I honestly prefer the faster version of the OP. Hehe. It's much more lively and cuutee. :D

Anyhoo, Kouki, you're such a badass pulling your own teeth out of your gums. Lmfao. Dafuq did I just say.

When Daikichi and Kouki's mom looked at each other. I felt that spark, maaan. Freaking get together already. Laaaawd!

Them practicing skipping with Rin's classmates and their parents. Hehe. I wish I can skip like Daikichi. Lmfao.

Rin-chan got influenced by Kouki being a badass pulling her own teeth. Haha. There's blood, I can't even. WAAAAAH. She really looks like a neko with her teeth like THAT. She's so cuteeee!

Omg. I really enjoyed this anime so much. I loved every second of it. One of the best and heartwarming anime for me. :)

9/10 :'D

I think I just finished this show in the span of midnight to morning. A grea last episode highlighting the growth of these two.

To start, I'm sure my younger self would have enjoyed the warmth the show provides, and the good nature the message is. However as a father now watching this anime, I see it in a whole different light.

I see the sentimentality, the same struggles of everyday life, balancing work and having to re-think your situation. Dealing with family, changing your lifestyle, fighting the urge of selfishness. Maybe putting on a little extra weight *looks down and frowns* and making new friendships with a circle of people you find yourself having things in common with.

An incredibly moving show that had me tearing at the ending song on the first episode. I have never felt a warm calm while watching a show start to finish like this. It was so pure and wholesome and judging by the reactions here, others feel that too. I would adore another season. But, if this is truly the end, I'm okay with that, because any future I could conceive of with these two would be a warm, happy and fulfilling one.

10/10 without hesitations.
