| According to their official blog, FUNimation announced earlier today at Sakura-Con that it has acquired the home entertainment, broadcast, digital, mobile, and merchandise rights for the first 48 episodes of the anime series Fairy Tail. FUNimation has reported that they have already started production on its U.S. release and that its English dub will feature Todd Haberkorn as Natsu. | Fuck yeah, it's about time it got licensed, and by a good company, too. Todd Haberkorn will probably sound odd as Natsu, but that's more a result of already being so familiar with Natsu's Japanese voice for 70 episodes. |

| OMGosh FINALLY! However, I don't think, I know Todd Haberkorn is not going to suit Natsu at all. I mean don't get me wrong, I love his voice acting, but having already watched both the animax english and japanese dubs, Todd Haberkorn's voice just won't work as Natsu. And as much as I found the animax voice for Natsu to be a bit unsuited as well, I think I would prefer that over Todd Haberkorn's version (unfortuneately), only because Todd Haberkorn is a bit too high-pitched to play Natsu. Oh well, i'm still looking forward to it! Maybe i'll get used to his voice after a few episodes. I just hope that Funimation dubs episodes 49 and over as well.  |

| I was SO looking forward to Funimation dubbing (and hopefully doing a MUCH better job then Animax) one of my favorite animes, but after i heard they used Todd Haberkorn as Natsu, my dreams just shattered. TT.TT Wrong. so wrong for Natsu. omg. eh. if they mess up Gray too...>.> thats it.. |

Justin Cook is a producer for about every Funimation dub out there, so he hardly has time to dub as any character, let alone the main character in a 70+ episode anime show (last time I heard him dub in anything he was one of shinji's friends in the Evangelion movie who is a minor character). And yeah, this whole "can he really pull off the role of this character" is getting old. We are talking about an actor who pursued in theatre using the tools he learned to become this gung-ho, over-excited, fire-breathing/eating 17 year-old (I think he's 17 anyway) troublemaker who acts like he's 12 and has a sensitive stomach when it comes to anything he thinks counts as transportation. It's really not that hard to pull of a character like that if you know how to act out the part. It has very little to do with this "competing with and/or sounding exactly like Tetsuya Kakihara," nonsense. Todd's trying to be a character, not another actor, in whatever way he can. |

Never heard Natsu in Japanese but I'm under the impression that he's a goofball. We'll see what happens. | @ Leon-Gun: Well not only that, but there would be no point in complaining if that person liked a show, but had no intention to buy it on DVD in the first place if he/she could. And I assume that fluxin42 guy didn't intend to buy it on DVD regardless of who would license or dub the show (I assume anyway, meaning I could be misjudging him). Oh btw to everyone else, if people STIIILL have a beef with the fact Todd Haberkorn is being casted as Natsu, then at the very least take it up with the voice director, Tyler Walker who casted Todd as Natsu in the first place. |
