No worries, I know how that is when you’re busy. It was a pretty exciting run for the Cubs despite how it ended. Knocking off the Cardinals was one of the best things that’s happened in my time as a Cubs fan, and they're set up to be good for a while.

My classes are going okay. I’ve got one of my toughest semesters this time around but I’ve (somehow) managed to keep up so far. I’ll be glad when it’s over - about halfway there so far. You're right that it's hard to believe it's that far into the semester but the really mild weather may be part of that. We've been having highs in the 50s and 60s when this time last year there was already snow.

That sounds fun. Did you play on a softball team when you were in school?

I see. I can’t say I’ve watched any of the WWC. As many other sports as I watch I never really got into soccer. The Blackhawks took most of my sports attention during their run and now it’s getting to the middle of baseball season.

lol that is true. It’s been pretty warm up here though, and the weather forecasts show highs in the 80s most of next week. I was surprised by how hot and humid it was here when I moved last August. I was ready for Minnesota winters, but not Minnesota summers...

I haven’t heard of either Seraph of the End or World Trigger. What are they about?

Yeah classes are going well. My first summer class was pretty intense having to fit it into three weeks, but the class itself wasn’t that difficult. My current class is more like a half-time load so I have more room to relax. Hopefully you find some time to relax too even with your busy work schedule.

Hey! Recently I started watching Blue Drop, though I can’t say I’m terribly impressed with it so far. But I’ll probably still end up finishing it. And speaking of sports themes, I really enjoyed the Touch manga when I read it a while back. There’s an anime too, which I’ll have to get around to sometime...

I actually didn’t make it to ACen this year since it overlapped with finals week (the first time I missed it since I started going). I’ll be taking more classes this summer. One class is May session, which starts tomorrow, and then one in the main summer session. I don’t have any concrete plans after that since I’ll be missing Otakon too. Maybe I’ll finally make that Great America trip this year. How about you?

That’s true. Also the physics class that I took last semester used a 15 point grading scale instead of the usual 10 point scale which made it easy to feel like my grade was worse than it actually was.

Haha yeah I know how that goes. You tell yourself you’ll get all this stuff done during vacation, but then the time flies by and you've hardly done any of it. Which anime did you watch?

Yeah I’d say my classes this semester are definitely more interesting than in the fall. It's nice to be done with my math and physics requirements and be moving on to the more specialized courses.

The semester went pretty well. At times it felt like I was falling way behind, but it the end my grades turned out okay so I guess I didn’t need to worry so much haha.

Yeah I know how that feels. It’s hard to pick what to watch since I know I will only have time for a little before classes start again. The spring semester begins on the 20th.

I didn't do too much exciting for winter break. I went back to Illinois for a bit but now I'm back in Minnesota again. How about you? Got any plans for your vacation?

Hey! School is going pretty well. Hard to believe that the semester is almost over already. It feels like it only just started. Anything new with you?

I know the feeling, I haven't had much time for anime or manga either. When I do have a little free time I've mostly been spending it on PAD.

Thanks!

Haha yeah figuring out what to take wasn't easy. I had to leave some things that there just wasn't room for in the car (like my monitor). But now everything's pretty much set up. I'm sure I'll start realizing stuff that I've forgotten soon, though I've still got a week before classes start to get any last-minute things.

I definitely like the new place. It's a nice apartment and it's got a large amount of space for a studio. I have to take the bus/light rail to campus, but it's much cheaper than the closer ones and I'm used to public transit anyways.
Norman87 Aug 12, 2014 7:20 PM
Yeah, exactly. Sometimes the best bands are the ones you randomly stumble upon.

Nah, now that Otakon's over it's just packing, moving, and all that stuff that's left. I really should get started packing since I've got only a week until I leave and I haven't even fully decided what I'm bringing. XD Ah, procrastination...
Norman87 Aug 2, 2014 4:50 PM
Cool. I imagine Panic at the Disco would have been at the amphitheater? I've never actually seen any of the summerfest concerts there. I just haven’t wanted to badly enough to pay for the extra ticket.

Well I originally started going to Otakon because a forum group I was a part of had a yearly meeting there. But now I've got some other friends that I meet there too. It’s a pretty good con, definitely better than ACen in some respects. Though given the cost of college this could end up being my last year going, since the plane tickets aren't cheap. I’ll have to see how the local Minnesota cons are once I've moved there.

I’m moving in about two and a half weeks. It is pretty exciting that I’ll finally be living on my own. It will obviously be a big adjustment, though.
Norman87 Jul 26, 2014 1:35 PM
Cool! Any particular bands you usually try to see when you're there?

Libraries in a lot of areas seem to have the same problem. Too many people aren't aware that there's a lot more than just books there.

Well there’s Otakon (which I think I already mentioned) but that’s about it. Summer is going by way too quickly, it’s hard to believe I’ll be moving already in less than a month.
Norman87 Jul 10, 2014 11:02 AM
Thanks! :) I didn’t do much on the 4th but I did end up going to Summerfest on the 5th.

I see. I was gonna say I can’t imagine one person doing that here given the size of my library, but if yours is too small for the population then its small size doesn't help much.
Norman87 Jul 1, 2014 12:31 PM
Oh wow, that’s a lot of stuff you’ve got to keep up with. Is the library where you work very big?

But it’s great that you can get so excited about your work. That definitely helps with not being so exhausted. Also the fact that you can give the kids back to their parents after storytime is over. xD
Norman87 Jun 26, 2014 8:55 PM
I see. Get any good inspiration there?

Oh, so you do a storytime program for kids? o: I bet you’ll enjoy it when your vacation time comes then. Kids can be very exhausting even if you enjoy being around them.
