Yay! Glad you're liking it! Tsume is my favorite, too! I love all of the characters, it's one of those anime that makes you think and sticks with you years after you finish it.

AH! You're watching Wolf's Rain! That's one of my favorites! How are you liking it so far?

Hello! Glad we were able to have a civil exchange of ideas in your blog comments, even if we disagree on a key point of discussion. ^_^

Anyway, hope your anime watching/manga reading is going well! Mine is going alright. I've been wanting to cut down on my Watching/On-Hold stuff and catch up on some older things that I been meaning to watch, but also been interested in a number of new shows that come out each season. There's just not enough time in the day. I'm just glad that I was able to keep up with and finish everything that I was watching from the Winter 2019 season. Summer 2018 was a bit of a disaster. It was so bad that I decided to just delete five shows that I started and only watched the first episode of and just put them back on my Plan to Watch. Only two shows got finished from that season and it felt like a struggle to do. I'd also only finished 2 shows from Fall 2018, but luckily there weren't all that many from that season that I was interested in.

I haven't dug really deep into the current season (Spring 2019) yet, but there are a lot more shows of interest for me than I originally thought. So far I've only started One Punch Man 2, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, and Joshi Kausei. There have been some worries about the change in production staff for One Punch Man, but the first episode seemed good enough. Demon Slayer has potential as a good yet heart-felt shounen adventure story. And I kind of feel like Joshi Kausei is getting a much more harsh reception than it deserves. It currently has an average score of 5.66 on MAL based on just the first episode! That's horrendous by MAL standards. It's really a fun, cute little short. I don't get the hate, but whatever. Then I have.... 8 other things from the season as Plan to Watch. XD I'm hoping that my roommate isn't interested or loses interest in most of them pretty quick so I can watch them without having to coordinate with him, especially now that he (finally!) has a job (for now) and might be working weekends pretty often. This could turn out like Summer 2018 all over again. =P

I'm also trying to focus more on manga reading this year and have therefore signed up for the Manga Reading Challenge. I'm getting a bit behind, unfortunately. I've been reading through Ouran High School Host Club, but it ended up being much more of a slog than I was expecting. I'm enjoying it overall and it is picking up closer to the end as it focuses more on romance, but the early volumes felt much more dense than they should be for a comedy series. Only 4 volumes left of the 18, though! I'm trying to read all (or at least most) of the manga that I physically own this year and doing as much of that as I can through the Challenge. I've owned Ouran for YEARS, but only read the first 6 or so volumes back around when I first started collecting it. I'm really looking forward to reading A Silent Voice next, though, since I loved the movie. And I feel like I might be able to read through that a lot faster since I read all five original volumes of Orange in one night (though I still need to read the final "Mirai" volume and watch the movie). We'll see, though!

And that's about all that's really going on with me right now other than working and playing board games and hanging out with friends and such. Oh! Speaking of which, I am going with some friends to see Penguin Highway in theaters tomorrow! I'm excited about that. ^_^

Anyway, have a good one and talk to you later!

AH!!! You finished Sanrio Boys!!! What did you think? I'm about to finish it soon! :)

Hello! Hope you're doing well!

Yeah, I'm definitely more interested in the Japanese fan experience of a sports game than the actual watching of Japanese players playing baseball.

Oh, with the Orange anime, when I was talking about editing I wasn't talking about cutting things out on the manga-adaptation side; I met general film editing type stuff, like the scene cuts and transitions, the way the episodes are edited together. Since the original manga was only 5 volumes long and didn't have a lot of action, they were able to fit in pretty much all of the story beats into the anime. I think I remember them changing the climax of the ending just a bit, but that wasn't anything major and it was interesting to see a slightly different take on it. I haven't gotten around to watching the Orange movie yet since I've been pretty deep in my Anime Challenge stuff, but I'll probably watch it soon. If you have a Crunchyroll subscription, I'm pretty sure Orange is part of their manga catalog, whenever you're in the mood to read it.

So yeah, as I said, I've been focusing a lot of my Challenge stuff, trying to get a good start to it and hopefully not burn out. One that has been a bit of a test to my sanity and patients has been Forest Fairy Five; it is just bad and that is the reason it's on my Challenge list, since I had to watch something that has an average score of 5 or lower on MAL. This actually has a 3.37 right now! And I can totally see why. I don't give scores below a 5 often (only have 9 such entries at the moment, and half are just really crappy hentai) and I've actually never given anything lower than a 3. I only have 4 episode left to watch of this and there is a very good chance that this will be my first ever 1 score on my list. XD Some people (including one reviewer on MAL) might say, "but it's a kid's cartoon!" like it excuses how bad it is, but really, kids deserve better. =P (this is also something that is, strangely enough, on Crunchyroll)

It actually looks like I might be watching a lot of stuff outside of my Challenge this year. In addition to hopefully watching the Orange movie soon, I'm already watching what some are calling the worst show of the season (or at least the most WTF? or pointless show): Pop Team Epic. And there are about 10 other shows that I'm interested in watching this season (in addition to the three that I've already started for my Challenge). I mean, I was originally going to go for the 100-item difficulty level until too many of the items annoyed me, so I'm still kind of shooting for finishing at least 100 anime this year. We'll see!

Aside from anime, I've mostly just been working and playing board games. Some friends and I are really into a game called Gloomhaven right now. This game is a lot of fun and it's huge! It will probably take us at least the entire year to finish the main campaign of the game. I think the fact that I am usually satisfied with the escapism found in anime and games might be one of the reasons that I haven't really prioritized travel in my life all that much. Yeah, I'd really like to see the world, but just staying in and enjoying various types of home entertainment is so nice and less expensive! I do really need to try making travel a priority, though. I don't want to end up waiting until I'm retired and in my 60s to finally see the world! I'm not getting any younger. =P

Thanks for the friend request! That's really cool about your profile picture. For some reason I totally didn't realize that it was Tokyo Tower; I thought it was the Eiffel Tower when looking at it at a glance. XD The cherry blossoms totally should have given it away, but I guess I just wasn't being very observant.

I actually own a baseball shirt that's a Toradora! parody of the Hanshin Tigers! I'm not that into sports, but it would be cool to see them play and experience a Japanese baseball game.

I think reading the Orange manga first spoiled my viewing of the anime a bit. It was a pretty solid adaptation as far as transcribing the story over, but the fact that I'd already knew the story made me notice the weird animation and editing choices a lot more than I probably otherwise would have if the anime had been my first experience with the series. It was still good, though, and again, I'm really looking forward to seeing the movie version. Which reminds me, I need to look that up.... And *downloading*. ^_^

The 2018 Anime Watching Challenge Sign Up is out now! There are some really weird items in this year's Challenge, but if you're interested and just do the 20 or 30 anime level, you can avoid all the really awkward ones since there are 108 items total to choose from. I spent pretty much the last 24 hours putting together my list of anime that I'll be watching for the Challenge. If you're interested in seeing it, I made a blog post of my first progress report which has a list of every anime that I'm watching for the Challenge this year. I make a new post every week or two removing the anime from the running list as I finish watching them. It's a fun little way to track my progress, seeing the list get smaller and smaller as I go.

And I don't really have anything else going on right now. Hope you have a great day and I'll see you around! ^_^

Yes! And I do love how innocent Goku is! He's so cute! I really want to read the manga now, too! :)

Hi! Yeah, I'm really liking Dragon Ball so far! I like the story it's based on, it's the same story Saiyuki is based on. I really like most of the characters, too! Yamcha, The Ox King, and Master Roshi are my favorites so far. :)
DynamicDylan Dec 27, 2017 12:14 AM
Yeah, it got released in November, I think! :)
And no, I don't have either of those. Though, I kind of want to start an instagram account.

I'm glad you enjoy Haikyu, too! I'm so excited for the bluray of season 2 to come out in a couple weeks!
Yowamushi Pedal is really good! It's a different kind of sports anime, I'm loving it! :)
