THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
This was a surprisingly good episode. I'm glad all my uneasiness that the last episode gave me was resolved.

Mario still seems a little childish, but overall everyone's developing nicely. Soldier is awesome and pretty smart, even if he did get all smashed up. Joe did well this episode, too, as did Baremoto. He was actually able to keep his composure when he was talking to the prosecutor (and when I say composure, I'm comparing it to the rest of the show). The prosecutor turned out to be a fairly reasonable (although super intense) guy.

Turtle was Turtle. No change there.

However, I just love Cabbage! He just seems like such a cool dude.

Although it surprised me, it seems like this show is going to take that "smart" and "mature" route after all.

It was definitely better than episode 15, but that whole "holy crap, this is so intense I just want more" feeling has completely left me. I enjoyed Soldier in this episode, he finally got a bit of time to shine. It was predictable (in my opinion) that the prosecutor would change his mind and Mario wouldn't go to prison, so it wasn't a surprise at how this episode ended.

I still wonder where this is going to go now. The next episode sounds like it could be the last what with the title and the Mario/Setsuko thing going on, but then again it will probably launch into another arc right after.

So Mario's whole situation is the result of a big misunderstanding? Man that sucks, but that's what happens when you take action before thinking.

Ok . maybe I'm just ignorat but WTF ? The girl was abused by her teacher and when someone comes and beats the hell out of the teacher to protect her she wants to keep quiet about everything and let the guy go to a reformatory for trying to help her AND the teacher free to do whaterver he wants ? Is she supposed to be the most retarded character ever or what ?

Other than that :
- Soldier was awesome this ep
- Baremoto was also great trying to convince that annoying prosecutor
- Cabbage was totally funny xD. HE'LL STALK YOU TILL YOU AGREE TO HELP !

Nice to see this arc clear up. I didn't want another repeat of the first arc.

Props on the girl for finally confessing. I was about to go on a rant about how selfish she is.

And that girl.. *sigh* I hate stupid characters.

Wow it ended in a nice way and pretty endearing, thats a new experience considering this anime. Still they coudlve extended this a few more episodes, you know more planning and moving around, or just convincing that girl. Im not gonna bash the girl, speaking in realistic terms, many rape cases are never cleared cause the victim cant bring themselves to testify, such a horrific experience.

So now is it safe to say most of the drama is gone...I doubt it, still kinda sad seeing them break up, oh well looking forward to Joe's singing career and hopefully Setsuko and Mario wont be too much of a developmental relationship headache.

Yes, you are being ignorant. A girl keeping quiet over a rape is not unusual or stupid at all and is understandable from a victim point of view, especially in that day and age. Surely you've heard of it happening irl. Honestly, the victim blaming here is simply disturbing and ridiculous.

But in this episode it was used for such melodrama that it makes the entire situation seem contrived. Mario had plenty of opportunities to explain himself, but he's supposed to look like a martyr of some sort. It's so damn badly written I could puke.

This is one of the better episodes, but that doesn't say much. The conversation between the prosecutor and Baremoto about blame and 'evil' is the best thing the show has done. I wish the show had been more mature and dealt with issues like that and the reasoning behind Mario going to prison as opposed to mega evil doctors and drug addicted henchmen. Oh well. Maybe I'll get two more episodes like this.

And he's free (again)! Hopefully for good this time, although that is entirely up to him.

It's good the group didn't had to go through a violent route to get him out of jail. They did things the right way this time.

It was also nice to learn more about why Mario ended up in the reformatory in the first place. Great backstory there.

Next episode sounds promising. Can't wait to watch it.

Shipo was the most immature person this episode. Glad they didn't make this last too long since it was short and compact it was pretty good.

I agree the fact that she couldn't ask for it to be private or anything and defend Mario was a bit weird... Or the fact that he just said he was protecting a student in general when he was asked.

There's shame and social stigma with admitting you've been raped when you're in a society at a time where women are pretty much only good for being wives and mothers. I have a feeling it's no different than America at the time.

Yay, holy shit this was a good episode.
Shame on me and all of you for looking down on the last few episodes.
I want the soundtrack now. That was a really good melody at 16~17minute ish.
But that twist about Nomoto's father and the prosecutor was really pulled out of the ass...btw, who does the prosecutor's voice? It sounds really familiar but I can't figure it out and it's bugging me!!!nvm, King Bradley. What's the prosecutor's name anyways? Put him in the chara list.

Oh yea, now go back to Setsuko story!!! <3

Please do not say this anime is predictable because in fact, everything in life is predictable. Death is predictable but what happens between birth and death is what makes life so interesting or in this case, the show show interesting.

As for the episode itself, I am glad they didn't make that chief officer into a villain because villains who are driven by hard cold 'justice' is not my cup of tea. And I can already see that this arc does hold some promise to it, so I can't wait to see what's in store for us.

Baremoto going to the prosecutor's office was the highlight of the episode for me. My head was telling me that he's just giving a cheesy shonen anime speech about Sakuragi and whatnot, but there was enough emotion in that scene to pull on my heart strings. I was expecting that arc to last a little longer, but oh well. I hope the next episode is the last time the series does a "where are they now" kind of episode.

I didn't watched this episode earlier because I was expecting Mario to undergo another round of Prison Treatment, where I would just get pissed with officials for their bullying..
But man, I shed some tears again, the passion his friends show is just so overwhelming.. this episode is my best so far for Rainbow.. should have watched it sooner.. >.<

Personally I think she's retarded as well. :/ I mean sure she's scared, but come the fuck on. She's gonna let Mario go to jail just because she's too scared to give a written statement? 'Delicate' girls like her piss me the fuck off. Like okay. You're useless. You don't want to get help or let anyone help the situation? Fine. Go wallow in your own despair. Oh well. At least she told in the end :/ Still a stupid bitch though.

Mario's also a bit of an idiot for lying and saying he had no reason to hit that guy. Well, I suppose with how that chief was, he probably wouldn't believe him even if he told the truth 'cause that old guy's a lunatic. Fuck I want him to die. He's such an asshole >:( I wanted Scam to beat the living shit out of him.

*sighs* On a better note, at least everything worked out in the end and people weren't COMPLETE douchebags about everything.

Mario could att least axplain what has happend in the bar and why he has escaped, leaving the girl's situation aside. Thogh overal it was ok.
Good episode, but I think it is going to lose in action (do not know for sure because I have not read the manga). Next 2 episodes would decide if I am going to continue watching it.

BTW does any one know who is the narrator (women's voice) in the show is. Like her voice.

Thx, some one has updated her as a narrator in the show. I knew that I've heard her before.

Ranma 1/2, Cowboy Bebop (and The Law of Ueki, Shaman King, Slayers).
And song performance in anime including Abenobashi Mahou Shoutengai.

I'm glad everything went much better than I had expected. Mario staying quiet about why he punched that teacher was so...considerate of the girl. Although I said that he wasn't as mature as Sakuragi, maybe I should've said that he's less clearheaded as Sakuragi. I can't believe he didn't defend himself when the prosecutor called him scum, and asked if he was like one of those people who punches others for no reason.

Baremoto has changed the most since the beginning. At first he didn't trust anyone, and now he's so different. His conversation with the prosecutor was heartbreaking, and I cried because it's true that him and other kids didn't become this way because they wanted to, some of them were just trying to survive. I cried even harder though when the girl who was raped gave her reason to the prosecutor as to why she decided to speak up. I'm envious too of the friends Mario has. Lastly, I can't believe there are some people here who are blaming the girl for not speaking up.News flash, not everyone is as strong as you. And like others mentioned, it happens all the time in real life where rape victims do not report to the police about what happened. I would expect back in the days, it was even worse for a girl because of social stigma and whatnot.

Personally i think the reason some people arent into this ia because they lack the ability to sink into the emotions and compare these guys lives to there own. It makes it even more intense that way. All there doing is looking at the outside point of view instead of the inside. Oh all these action lovers :L

As of now, please try to refrain from looking at MAL. its a complete mess right now T-T
People of anime have whooped, roasted, beaten, and tamed my ass. I have learned my ways and will never speak that horrible word. But, believe me, MY DAY OF VENGEANCE SHALL COME(please dont take this seriously, just "trying" to be funny lol
