I try to be generous, which is why my mean score leans a bit high. But when I find a stinker... ...I'm not nice. This anime is literally a "drink every time there's an animation error" with a non-zero chance of hospitalization type of anime, btw. |

| I'd like to believe I rate most anime fairly, except for a bunch of shows which I loathe on the basis of their underlying ideology. From the point of view of an average person though, my ratings are on the harsh side, because I'm mainly concerned with the show's quality of writing and fundamental worth as a work of fiction rather than its ability to pander to its target demographic and viability as a commercial product. |

| Generously, because I simply don't watch shows that I don't enjoy at all. On the other hand, I haven't given out anything higher than an 8 in a long time. Truly groundbreaking and innovative stuff is hard to come by. Mos anime, even if enjoyable, is quite cliche. |

@BitChilly That anime, man. It took up so much room rent-free in my head that I made a fucking bingo chart in preparation for the last episode. I don't think I'll ever find another anime that I can justify doing that for. |

@BitChilly A lot of them, but nothing to make a line sadly. It was a bad anime, and offended me in so many ways, but at least it wasn't boring. :) |

| I guess I'm slightly more generous but I'll try to utilise the whole 1~10 rating scale, it's just that I rarely watch bad anime so I can't rate anything pretty harshly |

| In my eyes, fairly, on most others', harshly. In short, because I believe in using the full scale and some stories having more merit and deserving a higher score than others, which, at the end of the day, shows my bias to which I'll stick to unless I change my mind in the future (very unlikely). |

| One of the most harshest raters on Mal is me. I can guarantee if I have seen similar anime to some of the top watched anime people all 1's. NO lies |
| I am a COMPLETIONIST. Aiming to finish AS MANY ANIME as possible before DEATH, Despite them being SATISFACTORY or if they are BORING. I WATCH THE LOWEST SCORED/RATED/RANKED ANIMES ON MAL (OR you can CALL THEM The WORST animes in the WORLD - No Joke Like Seriously) No anime has actually satisfied my anime taste, That I can call a MasterPiece (10/10), still searching... hopefully one day I will find that show and obsess over it till I die. RULE NO.4 I MUST WATCH ALL CONTENT FOR THE SERIES I HAVE FINISHED, NOW THIS ONE IS QUITE EXHILARATING. |

| I guess when looking at other scorings I'm a bit harshly. I just wanna use all 1-10 and it wouldn't be fair to give an "ok" anime more than, idk 6. A lot of people think 6 is like bad, but for me it's better than the average. (Average is 5) So of course a lot of my shows are in the area 5-7 because I watch stuff that looks interesting to me, so slightly better than average. Also I wanna give high scores only to shows I absolutely liked/loved. It wouldn't feel right to give the same score to a "ok show" and a "great show" |
| I rate anime according to the descriptions (so 7 = good, 4= bad, 2 = horrible, ect.), which is apperantly quite harsh compared to the Avg. Scores. Sometimes it's sad to contribute to a score I find too low but I need at least 10 diffrent categories to rate anime appropriately. For example: Prima Doll and it's 7.13 score. It was a lot better than many shows with higher scores in Summer '22! But it just isn't good enough to get the same ranking as my 8's, so I only gave it a 7 myself. |

| I think I rate anime just right, it's kinda rare for me to love an anime enough to rate it above a 7, but it's equally rare for me to hate one enough to rate it below 4 |

| I give anything that is watchable more than 5. I give relatively high scores to most anime. Never understood the whole 'utilise all of the rating scale' point that a lot of people make. I believe that most anime out there is good and that's why my ratings are centered around 7. |

Pretty much the same here except I kept past anime I rated generously back then that way it is as a reminder or so of how I was back then. Think of it as part of character development. Now I try to be fair and reasonable when I rate kind/somewhat critically or harsh. |

Anime is 1 thing I can tell for sure I've enjoyed/loved since childhood and has kept me going.... and im more of "personal feelings" >> "objective/critical" value scorer. Thus only thing I'm somewhat more "positive" about and that's how I tend to feel when watching Anime I guess? Thus I tend to rate Anime higher than a lot of people I guess? Copy paste my answer from similar thread. 5 = average, where for most part I feel bored. These I'm likely to drop. 5 and lower I'm dropping quite likely... (since I've stopped my no drop policy loooooooooong time ago) 6 = it's "okay/fine", where for most part I did enjoy it, thus "positive" score... do drop them occasionally. 6 and higher are good scores = I enjoy them = I don't drop them = thus making them good/fun/enjoyable . Kinda been my go to scoring logic since I've started watching anime back in 2008 , and I've seen fair share. Haven't updated for ages, but in a nutshell my scoring logic ..... for the most part still applies. | I don't know. I think my scores are more sincere than anything else, at least in terms of how I really think and feel about the anime I've watched. Whether my rating is generous or not is relative and largely dependent on who you ask. |
| I'm fairly critical in general, but I always loosen up when it comes to shows I really enjoyed watching even if there are a lot of visible flaws. In the end, enjoyment is the most important after all! |
