Gekka with a gun :o

Honestly, this show is starting to get slightly darker with its latest storytelling. Gekka seems like such a fragile character but it's a good thing she has friends around her.

Looks like the plot is starting to progress a bit faster with the manager's disappearance, really curious what would happen next.

So it seems they are moving on to a more sinister plot.
Well so far it has been a combination of relaxing moments and some pretty dark histories, not to mention the parts with spies and the war.
It's clear things aren't as peaceful as they appear, rather the situation with the countries is rather tense.

It's sad that the girl get involved with those things tho like in this case with the old couple who both an ulterior motive but also a personal one with Gekka.
Well we will see how things play out.

Interesting plot development. This show is getting better and better.

Haizakura. xD She always does something silly. Also, lol at that shocked reaction.

Poor Gekka. I feel sorry for her. However, I'm glad it wasn't all a lie. They really did have a child who looked just like her despite the different hair color.

By the way, Gekka has a very beautiful voice. <3

Great episode! Nagi has gone away for a while.
There is a new menu item and...the baked glacia Haizakura set on fire looked very tasty!
Don't trust Haizakura with fire xD.
Karasuba meanwhile is trying to raise sales whilst Nagi is away.
Haizakura wants to help kuronekotei by singing and everyone but Gekka agrees with the idea as she can't sing in front of people.
Gekka's voice is beautiful! But unfortunately for her, two people heard her singing and she ran away lol. SUGOKU KAWAII NANO DESU!
The two people who heard her sing come into Kuronekotei for some food and they are sad they won't get to hear her sing.
And the woman invites Gekka to come with her to the restaurant they are going to eat at.
She discusses it with the others and she decides to accept.
The two people tell her she resembles their daughter who they lost 20 years ago due to tuberculosis.
Gekka asks them how to sing in front of other people and the man tells her a good luck charm of drawing a heart on your hand and clenching it to give you confidence.
Retzel meanwhile is preparing for if there is ever an emergency xD.
Seems Gekka was invited to their house also and has stayed over multiple times now.
Seems Nagi is being threatened to repair an oka model automata which are specialised for war...
Gekka decides to go on stage but it seems when she goes back to the table the two people were on, they have gone.
The man was found inside Nagi's room...
It seems he is a spy!
The woman attacks Houkiboshi but Gekka defends her and shoots them!
I felt so sorry for Gekka.
They really did have a child it seems though so they didn't lie fully.
I hated seeing Gekka cry...
Nagi is missing!

Looking forward to the next episode!

That poor Baked Glancia! Haizakura killed it by drowning it in brandy and roasting it lol.

Gekka has a pretty nice voice! So cute how surprised she was by that old couple. Gekka is too precious, man! I had hoped the old couple weren’t up to no good, but hearing those questions they were asking Gekka I had my suspicions. I guess they really did have a kid that looked like Gekka and they really were gonna see her at the fair, so it wasn’t all a lie but they still played her. I wonder who they were even spying for…

I hope next week we get to see the girls perform at the Capital Fair. They’ll have to save Nagi first though. Dude has found himself in a real pinch.

Retzel was right after all, as both of them were spies.
The plot is thickening. I think we will see more action soon.

It does seem that Karasuba actually ahs a crush on Nagi. Wow Ha chan sure is prone to accidents huh. Gekka actually has a pretty good singing voice. If she's able to deal with her nerves around others im sure she would excel. Still being invited to dinner by a couple that you just met is indeed curious. Its unfortunate that they turned out to be imperial line scum who were working with their fellows to capture Nagi. Despite that it seems that their convo about their daughter was indeed real. They may have been spies but beneath that they were at least decent people. Looks like the line are finally striking out within the narrative. The new ending theme sure was nice. But curious as to how they will find and free Nagi though.

I am beginning to like this show more than LycoReco. While the character chemistry is not as energetic as LycoReco, it manages to catch me off-guard with those depressing moments. The action part of the show is usually over quite quickly but manages to leave a significant impact on me. On another note, the new spy girl's advice can really be valuable. They should pay more heed to her.

Ah, yes, the moment Gekka mentioned what she was talking about with the old couple, it was pretty clear they could only be spies.

The two turned out to be spies after all. Pretty predictable considering how they've been asking a lot about the owner. Poor Gekka and the little girl who resembled her. Small cliffhanger at the end.

Lolis with guns>>>

I’m glad we got a Gekka mini arc. She’s always been the strong person for everyone else during the season. You just knew she had to have been carrying a lot of weight on her shoulders. A good cry is cathartic and necessary for everyone.

Tooma’s situation could get messy tho. Military seems hell bent on getting that Oka model back up and running to turn the tide of the war, but it clearly pained Tooma to even think about it since he lost her before. Wonder how the girls will break him out of this one.

Love the promo art and BD covers we got this week too

Another day at The Black Cat café, and there's a new menu item: the Baked Glancia doused in alcohol...well, it's postponed thanks to Haizakura pouring too much brandy and literally lighting the merengue on fire. Welp...another time.

We haven't had Gekka shown herself, that is until now with her episodic arc, showing that she's still capable of being an automata with feels, and capturing the attention of an old couple too much that she grows embarrassed to hide in fear. That is until they meet her the next day and decide to invite her for a meal, being the splitting image of their daughter lost to tuberculosis. Everything looks nice on the outside, even being very caring and patient with Gekka.

With the release and outpouring of the heart, Gekka slowly becomes accustomed to the old couple over time, and everything seems normal at first, but it slowly stems the fact that they're indeed spies, and their deception game was played so well that Gekka dropped her guard and became the one lied to, that the aftereffects hurt all too much.

Retzel is a special case where there is equality between all generations while automata are generally being led by seniority. So in effect, someone needs to take care of her. But that said, the hidden contraptions within Nagi's know-how and her expertise are slowly turning dark to reinvigorate a war that has been since long gone.

How will the band of automata save Nagi out of his predicament, that is a hard one to tell.

amazing episode. It wasn't 100% a lie, that old couple did have a daughter who looked like Gekka. The experience is sad for her, but she has the courage to sing in front of people now.

I'm not liking how Retzel just goes along to whatever Haizakura wants. Also her Haizakura oneesama cannot be blamed for anything. This attitude might cause a problem later.

Imperial Line Faction is 600k strong.. that's a huge army that could take over the country, or they could restart the war with Lobelia. They also now captured Nagi. I thought these guys would just be a minor thing in the show, but now they're a serious threat. Hopefully, Karasuba don't do something foolish trying to rescue him.

looking forward to next week!

show is now 9/10 score for me.

Pain, can't believe Retzel was actually right lmao. I was not suspecting them at all, I thought they really just wanted to adopt Gekka, well, until they broke into Nagi's office. But it's not all a lie, which makes it more painful. Pretty sad to see Gekka crying.

Ah shit, Nagi's been taken, now that we're nearing the end, it's time for the main plot to kick in.

not suspecting them as well, I thought Retzel was just being paranoid. But I guess a doll created for spying can identify other spies.

Haizakura and her usual naivete aside, you'd think that all of Black Cat would be suspicious of those strangers taking such a keen interest in Gekka so quickly and coming on so strong about it, especially so soon after Retzel herself joined them as a spy. But even when they start asking Gekka - who, as the show itself points out, was a reconnaissance doll - about Nagi, she suspects nothing? Also, the child that supposedly looked like Gekka looked way more like Misaki Kuno loli. And lol at trying to do an emotional montage about characters we only just met this episode and thinknig that will have any impact at all.

On the flipside, it really does feel like we're reaching a turning point with the main plot now that Nagi has been captured and the ILF are becoming more bold in their operations in enemy territory.

Another great episode, still think this may be sleeper hit of the season. Gekka had mostly been emotionless up until this episode. It appeared that the spy couple broke her heart but they may not have been fully lying as it looked like they really did have a similar looking daughter. Last time I felt sadness watching this was when Houkiboshi cried when she realized how much of an impact she had to the soldiers that died, and then got her voice back soon after.

So Oka appears to be an automata made for war and Nagi refused to repair her and now he's being held at gunpoint. I think these automata girls will figure out a way to rescue him and I hope Retzel stays loyal. I did appreciate her heads up with Gekka about that couple potentially being spies though.

There is no clear evidence that it is a photo of their child or it could have been planned from the start by preparing tickets & photos like a Gekka. The studio should have drawn a parent with the child, to be more convincing though not to ignore the fact that they were spies.

It's sad that this old couple were just spies and tried to deceive Gekka, at least she didn't kill them... while the plot continues and seems to be rather tense for Nagi's perspective

And we got more stuff relating to the war happening to the dolls.

I am really hoping the "war" wouldn't resume... otherwise our dolls would either end up like previous episode's "Idol dolls" or even forced to go back to war as weapons til they're broken... (just like some other dolls they showed previously)

Especially with how the military is forcing Nagi to fix dolls... the military still wants to go back to the war. (we don't know if those Soldiers were with the enemies or not, cause previous episode showed that majority of the male military officers strongly wants to keep their old military rules and ways, such as shutting down anything related to dolls that has nothing to do as war machines)

___ ___ ___

As for the spies...

While they did used Gekka to get in.

They actually did liked Gekka as she actually did look like their Child.
