It's way too easy to neglect reading books...
If you don't read much, it almost feels like a chore, compared to all the other entertainment we have.
But once you get into a good book, it's like magic...you get swept away.
I think doing some reading before bed every night is a pretty easy way to make your life a little bit better.
It helps you get good sleep, and it's really good for your imagination.

What do you think are the most important things in life? Money, dreams, sympathy towards others...

Yes, they're all important things as well... But the most important thing is responsibility for your own actions.

From 100 pages to 2 whole books [they are usually 300-900 pages] weekly, depends on how much of information I need for my next days in university or how much details I need to my balchero's work x)

Reading used to be fun like this for me too. Especially with some music on in the background like Classical, jazz or soul or something.

About one novel book a month + a changing amount of manga, sometimes not at all, sometimes multiple volumes

But the one novel each month usually happens every month because I'm a(n) admin/mod in a book discussion discord group.

When I was younger (elementary/junior high) I spent multiple hours every day at local library after school, fairly often in high school too.

The only stuff I read is mostly forums, games, VNs, manga, and subtitles after finishing college. I blame high school for turning reading books into a chore for me.

i don't really have a routine for it. i very infrequently get migraines, but i frequently fear them. so when my eyes feel weird and my legs and foot get cold, i go away from the computer and lay in bed until i feel better. often i read on my kindle then. sometimes it is manga. i also have a big folder of pdf's on my computer.

I've been trying to read at least one book a month since 2019. I've been doing more than that, but is kind of hard to find books that interests me.

I took this year to read only sci-fi, preferably classics, and after 14 titles I got 1 for my top 5 and bunch of 1s and 2 stars on my goodreads profile.

I used to read books every night before going to bed, but now the only thing I read is manga, and not too much, just 4-5 chapters a day.

I've been reading American Sniper, the biography of the Navy Seal with the highest killcount ever.

It's pretty fascinating... reminds me of the vibe of that war era, actually.

Also motivated me to work out harder.

Because I have a lot of time to spare in the transports currently, I read around 2 hours a day during the week, around 90-150 pages depending on the format of the book. Last month I read around 15 books, mostly manga and novels but also history books.

(This is the second bragging thread afterthe IQ one, but remember that it does not matter if you read a lot if those are SAO light "novels").

In the last six months, I read half of Nabe's books that amount to more than 5000 pages, and I read other books in the meantime like Rebatet's Les Deux Étendards (1312 pages).

I don't read that much after I started working. I am feeling stressed as well being away from home, so I don't feel calm enough to read anything right now. I am out of focus, I guess I really need to go back home.

Wait, do you read books everynight before you go to bed? How is it? Do you remember anything when you wake up?

I have reading phases that come and go.

I can read all day long for weeks during one, and not touch a book for months after that.

You're absolutely right, reading can feel like magic sometimes.

Think I'll just do some come January, actually got a bit of time to do it then.

Usually without special urges it may take about 3-6 hours a day. I don't really like reading on gadgets. If it's necessary to read a lot of long papers it will printed out all of them. Anti-radiation glasses are made with a blue light filter coating. Therefore, it's only effective for a short period of time.

Almost everyday. I usually read stuffs from this order:
- News and posts from RSS feeds.
- Articles/posts from Medium that I receive from email.
- Reference manual for electrical components, programming languages, and code libraries/packages I'm usin'.
- Some novels before I sleep.
