 The official website of studio Khara has reported that animator Shouichi Masuo died on Monday due to chronic illness despite having been under medical treatments. He was 57.Masuo began his career in the anime industry as a key animator for Sengoku Majin Goushougun (Macron 1). He was well acquainted with Hideaki Anno, Katsuhiko Nishijima, and Kouji Itou, and established studio Graviton. Masuo was also a key staff member of the 1984 anime film Macross: Do You Remember Love?, Fushigi no Umi no Nadia, Musekinin Kanchou Tylor, and the Evangelion series. Source: Sports Nippon |
