| More worldbuilding about the layers of the Abyss and the whistles. It's a very intriguing world indeed and I've been loving it so far. You really can't hate Nat at all. He says the truth and he's the most logical one of them. He might have crossed the line there but that's because he's clearly a very nice guy who cares a lot for Riko. It was also heartwarming to know that his dream is to build an orphanage in the slums. Riko is naive and quite impulsive but that's not a bad thing for now at least. The story wouldn't move if they stayed in the surface after all and Reg is determined to find the truth of his existence. The leader also seems to know what's up. I'm almost certain when he nudged Reg to go to Riko, it was a message to protect her in the Abyss. I also like that not everyone of the children went with Riko. It would have been predictable. The letter is really ominous as well. You can tell it got cut short. No way in hell Lyza would have subjected Riko to the depths of the netherworld after sacrificing a lot just to get her to the surface safely but who knows. That's what we're about to find out. We still don't know how the White Whistles managed to survive in the deeper layers considering the effects of just being there but it's just the third episode. No rush. I wonder how Riko will get through it. Only Reg is unaffected by the curse but if you think about it, Riko is already cursed. Maybe she's going to develop an immunity. I also have this really uneasy feeling ever since Reg said his goodbye to Kiyui. The poor kid was coughing and was clearly not okay and said that his birthday was tomorrow and I immediately remembered Nat's horror story. Goddamn. |

| Pretty solid episode. We are introduced to the slums and other buildings. The Kemono Friends atmosphere is really digging me in (Sorry for the puns). Riko somewhat reminds me of Kaban. I hope she become stronger here from now on. For some reason the fantasy atmosphere reminds me of Hakumei & Mikochi, probably because of the artstyle and recent watching it |

| These first few episodes really capture the feeling of the children novels I read when I was a kid. Other than this, we've got our premise, a simple one, yet very effective. The story definitely know what it's doing. |

| I was reading about Kevin Penkin and decided to watch the anime. The characters are sweet. This episode is great, I hate goodbyes. The way they explained about Abyss reminded me of Attack on Titans when explained about Wall "Rose, Maria, Sheena" |

| This "curse of the Abyss" on the higher levels just seems like your atmospheric pressure.. When you get used to one atmospheric pressure, it is difficult to get used to lower or higher ones.. Symptoms are same as climbing our high mountains, pretty much.. Like mountain Everest, or many others, really.. Well, deeper level changing into animals is something which is strange.. First floor, here we go~ ;P And yeah.. I guess, realistically it's the last time they see each other.. |

| This was a really good episode again, and a great sendoff for the characters remaining above the surface now in Riko and Reg's friends. The adventure finally starts now, and the potential there is exciting (at least in anime form, since I never really got into the MiA manga that much to be honest). Also liked how the structure of the Abyss was went over in some amount of detail. Made in Abyss might not have as much detailed lore and might not be as interesting as the Tower of God manhwa and world for me, but it's definitely still one of the most interesting fantasy worlds that I've come across from a fictional standpoint. Very simple but immersive stuff so far, makes me want to venture down myself even though I know I'd be fucked if that ever happens due to how dangerous it is. Only thing that's a bit on the fence with me is how easy Riko's had this to go down the Abyss with someone as useful as Reg due to his strong resistance to the Curse of the Abyss compared to normal people and his arms, maybe a bit too convenient there, but even Bam from Tower of God has had his fair share of luck when having to go up the Tower in that series so can't fault it too much in the grand scheme of things I guess. |

| From Lyza's notes and Shiggy's map the Abyss has such cool creatures and fascinating things to see, I can't wait! Riko is SO optimistic, she really gives zero hecks. What a sad yet sweet departure. |

Graduated High School in May of 2022. Summer vacation has finally arrived. I have once again regained the power of a new anime fan, being able to watch multiple anime episodes in a day. Time to binge-watch every single anime I can into the night until college arrives. SADGE. SUPER SADGE... College has begun as of Monday, August 30, 2022, so you won't be seeing me much around these parks. See you on weekends, I guess... School me is back. Sigh! I'll at least try for one anime a day with all this course load. |

| There's no way the mom is still alive. Riko is so stubborn and annoying. I can't really stand her character. Nat has a crush on Riko and deep down inside, he probaly wants to join them. Kiwi is adorable!! This was definitely better than the second episode |
