| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- This was interesting. Been reading the manga and I love the atmosphere of its world setting so far. The theme songs fits too for this show imo. From the beginning, we see Riko encountering a monster but she manages to survive despite a few close calls. Character interaction is fun to watch and pretty much introduced the main premise/story from the first episode. OST works as well. Definitely liked what I see so far. We'll get to see these kids explore more soon so I'm excited for that. Episode ended with a glimpse of the outside of the Abyss. ED theme song seems to catchier than I had expected. |

| Stunning first episode! The anime is in good hands! The visual presentation was on point in every way!The backgrounds and landscapes were absolutely incredible to look at. The soundtrack was already a joy and I loved the montage they played instead of the op with them carrying Reg. The voice actors are very on point and I really enjoy the casting choices so far. Fantastic adaptation so far. I love the OP/E̶D̶,̶ ̶n̶o̶t̶ ̶s̶u̶r̶e̶ ̶w̶h̶a̶t̶ ̶i̶t̶ ̶i̶s̶?̶ Thanks for the clarification(it's the song that was played at the end of the episode, for those who were wondering). |

| Yep, as good as expected. Can't believe how good the OST is Nice animation and nice OP They've changed some bits but it was still great. I'm sure I'm gonna enjoy this one a lot! | The quality is breathtaking. The animation and music are both top-notch. If they keep this up, I can already imagine that this show will be a hit this season. Also, given that an anime reaches a far bigger audience than a web manga, I can understand why they decided not to include certain...interesting scenes from the source material. |

| I have no idea the character would be that cute. And also thought that Riko has the same VA as Tohru. Even she has that "easily-hyped" behavior just like Tohru. >_< The music is good too. |

| Just re-watched it with subs and in high quality. Amazing first episode, the liberties they took with the adaptation of the manga were spot on and they clearly know what they're doing! My excitement has no bounds! 10/10 first episode. |

| That was awesome, great start. The art is absolutely beautiful, love it. The soundtrack is really good as well. The premise is really intriguing and I love how it gives off a really mysterious but adventurous vibe with the whole treasure hunting and exploration of the abyss elements. The characters are really likable especially Riko. Reg is also shrouded in mystery. I don't know how far this will go in terms of plot and world development since this only 1 cour but I sure hope we get to learn more about the abyss and revelations regarding Reg and anything else in the world since I really love the premise. Really looking forward to next week. |

| Made in Abyss got my attention after I saw the summer anime season list in MAL with its artstyle. Now after I watched episode 1 I am really interested in it. ^_^ I would say it is 7 from 10 first episode. I love the artstyle ! Maybe will read the manga along with the anime because as far as I saw I think the story will be too complex for only 13 episodes adaptation.This may end up being one of the best anime for this season. P.s Question for manga readers .Does it follow the manga?  |

I could see it getting rushed or not having a good stopping point. |

| Now the good stuff is coming, that was nice to say the least. Osts, visuals, atmosphere everything was top and there's a ton of potential for an awesome ride. With this and Bahamut I will really look forward to each friday :P |

| I knew this was going to be my personal dark horse when I first saw the promo. I don't usually indulge in the "aots" hype, especially this early in the season, but I really think this is going to be something special. Worried a little about the episode count, but if pacing is maintained and all else remains at this quality or more, this will be a fantastic ride. |

| Character design sucks, but general art quality is impressive. Probably drawn in full 1080p. Everything is so crisp. Sasuga Kinema Citrus. Anyway, I'm not disappointed at all. Very good start. Ed song (or maybe future OP?) is awesome <3 |

| T'was okay. The backgrounds were neat, but I wouldn't say that the character animations were above average. There were a few pieces of expository dialogue that could have been improved, but other parts were pretty nice. The narration at the end of the episode was kinda annoying, and I feel like that info could have been learned through dialogue rather than what was basically an exposition dump. But narration by a non-character is more of a pet peeve of mine in general. Also, I'm really digging that opening track. On another note, if this adaptation covers the manga (don't spoil you're self, please), then I can see this becoming one of the most popular shows of the season, if not the year. I'm not trying to hype it or anything, but there are some aspects of the manga that if covered by the show, will definitely cause a hype storm. |

| This one was a big surprise for me. Wasn't sure what to expect from the poster image; but good thing I never judge anime from that because I'd have missed a possibly extremely good fantasy anime. Also as soon as I spotted that drama tag, I didn't have to think about it twice before diving in. The characters design is a bit hard to get used to, at least for me, but the backgrounds and the ost are just great; that insert song at .07 *_* The world looks very interesting and I like the characters, can't wait to see more! |
