Holy shit, Griffith shows no mercy.
This episode really made Griffith look god-like.

We got to see some war action on the battlefield too. Bloody and violent as I had expected. Decent episode. The body count piled up fast. Nice to see Grunbeld and Mule this episode.

Sonia is such a Griffith fangirl lol

Good episode.

Griffith just wrecked the Kushan army and all he ever did was just stab their leader in the eye. xD
The action in this episode was actually quite good for a CG series I mean.

Glad to see Farnese and Serpico joining Guts. Isidoro's teasing had quite the reprecussions though. :3

Griffith brings humans and demons together, no one is able to resist this man's charms. I always liked how Griffith leadership was portrayed when Sonia took Mule on a tour of the Band of the Hawk.

Good episode overall. CG of the Kushan faces was terrible though.

No trolls and one too many Floras in the next episode preview. What the heck are they doing?

Maybe by then their CGI quality will move up from being on par with a PS2 to PS3.

Griffith's new army is super strong, but I really hate him for naming it Taka no Dan after what he did to the original one.

Then, Guts' and Griffith's teams are formed. Kind of random the introduction of the new Band of the Falcon generals though.

Griffith is OP in every way :)

Well, a solid episode, not great neither bad, just... right

The good thing about it it's that makes me think about the future of the history

I can't believe that after sleight improvements at the end of the previous seasons the animation has tanked so badly again. Props for Raksas being the nicest looking thing in this show, though only serving to make everything else look significantly uglier.

They really let themselves go with the pacing, even compared to the previous season (I believe this episode alone covered material from over 10 different chapters.)

Wow.. Griffith looks so beautiful! Now I'm not sure which is the antagonist loool.

The CGI gore is okay, no complains here. I wonder what is Griffith's main purpose with his rebirth though, I'm kinda itching to read the manga now.

Pacing here was fine, and much better than the previous two episodes. I don't remember how many or which chapters they adapted here, but I'm sure most of them were the battle, which play out faster in animation. Half the episode to show their prowess, and the other half to introduce the new Band of the Hawk. Don't see how they could have handled that much better.

Despite the derp faces in this episode, this season is pretty good IMO, more Berserk is always a good thing.

And we see Lady Flora in the preview! Wheee!!

BTW, a quick check on the manga chapters and I found out only chapters 192-195 are adapted in this episode. That isn't fast.

Ok, here's the thing - I loved the episode, but:

Man, they're going way too fast. This episode had so many epic moments that easily could have been dragged out more to create an epic feel to it, like the introduction of the godlike creatures that now suddenly have joined Griffiths team. And the fighting is cut through so fast, I mean the stuff in this episode could have been made into 5 or even 10 episodes, with a more in depth storytelling and longer conversations. The music that plays in the background is weird as hell, what the heck is that crazy mumbling woman whispering sound that keeps overlapping the background music? I mean cmon animators, don't ruin these epic Griffith moments with weird music stuff! Now for the animation, which I do think is good despite the CGI, especially Griffiths design is rather nice, with his eyes being the best part - keep having those shiny eyes there, Griffy! Other than this I just gotta say that I am optimistic for the continuation of the series, but please lets hope they don't rush it. There was a perfect pace in season 1 from 1997, let's hope they will take their time when time is needed. Rant over, hehe (I do like Berserk and that is why all this had to be said).

Looking forward to next episode.

Pacing was better in this episode and everything else was pretty inoffensive quality wise too. This is probably the episode that felt the most like a competent Berserk adaptation out of this ongoing series. 4.5/5

The short answer is that no one currently knows Griffith's motives except for Griffith (even up to where the manga is currently),

I really enjoyed this episode. Yes, it all still looks awful, but the slaughter of the Kushan by the new Band of the Hawk was wonderful to see finally animated (even if imperfectly, to put it diplomatically). Even the music was decent this episode and I think they handled the slower moments very well, taking appropriate time with Sonia's tour to Mule and Griffith's... whatever that was... with the dead.

Definitely liking season 2 more than the first. Not a super high bar, but hey, I'll take it.

Didn't think I'd see Irvine animated so soon in my life. He looked quite nice, considering the state of the art we are in right now. I just didn't like the last scene where he's shown, would rather they left at your third gif, much like in the manga.

The trajectories of the arrows in the second take also leaves to be desired, as I recall, the arrows came with quite the arch in the manga, as they were pretty far away in a distant hill. The presentation of that scene was just better in the manga (well, I wonder where it wouldn't be I guess).

I'm pleased overall with the Neo Hawk commanders in the adaptation. It's just too bad they can't model all the other immediate henchmen (like in the first scene illustrated here). In the manga they are highly detailed and designed, seeming to have their own personalities.

Same, I wasn't expecting to see Irvine animated so soon. It was a pleasant surprise.

You're right in the anime the angle makes it seem like Irvine and the archers are much closer. His debut in the manga is more impressive though I think Locus's anime debut was well done. I checked the manga chapter (Ch 192) and the henchman are very detailed, I don't mind if they look derpy in the anime if it means the Neo Hawk commanders will be well animated.

I'm more curious if and how they'll do what every conceivable form of animated Berserk media has bailed:
