And I know how that feels. I always wish I could go back and rewatch animes such as Naruto or FMA: Brotherhood and be able to relive the experience again! But I'm currently tryna finish hunterxhunter (2011), how about you?
I do not know much about movies, I usually see animes of 12 episodes when it comes to romance I can even recommend one of this autumn season that only has 6 episodes: Our love has always been 10 centimeters apart.
here are some recommendations: 5 Centimeters Per Second (same director of kimi no na wa), Into the Forest of Fireflies' Light, The Light of a Firefly Forest, The Garden of Words (also by the same director of kimi no na wa)
The manga is good!! (and that comes from someone who hates reading!). If you've read up to that far, you're on a good path! You should catch up! Plenty of things have happened since then but nothing 'huge'. The party grows but Caska for instance, is still 'nuts'.. :/
However, I'd say most badassery was seen towards the great eclipse! There's more after that, but less intense imo..
But yes they are such beautiful creatures!
