All is left for me to rate it is base on the production values and the music the anime can offer. Meaning this the rating for the pretty colors and funky music even if this 2 factors is good. A good Anime is still base on it's Plot and Character 4/10 is mediocre for me I did enjoy some part of he series concerning plot and characters but still everything is trash and garbage and still get me bored to death. There are exception to short films and Music video but I still rate them 1-4 because it lacks plot and character. |

| I am curious but can you rate anime in the 1-4 accurately if you've never seen Mars of destruction, Pupa and ect. Not accounting for their existence or knowing what a 1 looks like reduces the accuracy of your ratings as some anime get rated lower than they should be. Probably, one of the issues elitist don't acknowledge. |

| 4 - A little below-average; a bad anime but not painful to watch like the lower 3 ratings (Anime like FLCL and Maico 2010 are in this category for me) 3- The pretty painful category, has its tolerable moments but mostly comes across as an excruciating, disjointed mess (Inuyasha) 2- This is the kind of rating reserved for a title that isn't unwatchable but is really, really, REALLY close to this category. Has one (MAYBE two) good aspects about the title. (DBGT) 1- I've never witnessed something that deserves a one but what I imagine a 1 as is something that is absolutely unwatchable and has not one good feature to it. |
| Let's be honest, a lot of people rate 1 just to bring down an anime that they didn't like. 1 - I must bring down the rating, it is overrated or I just hate it for personal subjective reasons which I should be aware of. |
| I've never rated an anime under 4 before. But when I rated 4 it means that... It's Boring for all episodes. OR/AND The graphics/content is disturbing/disgusting. When I rated 6 it means that... 1. It's boring for most parts but few episodes are actually entertaining. 2. Overall it's bad and makes me feel not satisfied after watching it. |

| I don't often encounter anime that I would rate in this range, but I have seen more than a few live action movies that would qualify. For me, anything rating from 1 to 4 is a failure. Failures can occur in many ways. Perhaps the show set out to accomplish a goal for its storytelling and failed due to incompetent writing, or perhaps it failed due to severe technical problems. Sometimes, even the premise or goals behind a show can be considered so ill advised that it is a failure from the start. The distinction among these scores, for me, is merely a matter of degree. A 1 is a spectacular and impressive failure, while a 4 is a modest and uninteresting failure, potentially with some successes. Since I enjoy a great train wreck, anything that I rate 1 or 2 is likely to be something that I enjoyed considerably, but for the wrong reasons. I laughed out loud at Mars of Destruction and Pupa because they were so ineptly constructed that I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I haven't yet rated any anime 3 or 4, but if I ever decide to waste my time on amateurish hentai, I'm sure I will find plenty. A good general example outside of anime would be late seasons of an American sitcom that has jumped the shark after having been on so long that its creators have run out of ideas. I've been gradually watching Sabrina the Teenage Witch. It is nowhere near a masterpiece in the first place, although it is entertaining enough. However, in the third season, the cracks are starting to show, and I fear that it is headed into this territory. Long running anime series might enter this range if they run too long, but I haven't seen enough long series to determine whether this is a common problem. |

| 4: It's a show that is slightly bellow average or a painfully average show. It's something where I just kind of watch it and finish it you know? Don't think much about it and find everything not amazing. Plot would be okay/good and characters would be okay/good. 4/10's aren't that bad, but definitely not recommended. These shows are the Best of the worst in a way. They aren't great but they are really good for being bad? Do you kinda understand what I'm trying to say? 3: It would be a show I consider bad. It is probably some shitty school show with teenage main character. Maybe a show that is purely a comedy (and not THAT funny, but still quite funny) might fall under here. Any ecchi show that is quite good for just fanservice could fall under here. I could enjoy these show to a certain extent, but I might not have, it really depends. School anime for the most part suck so i can just toss them in here 2: These shows are almost terrible. They would be shows that have maybe a niche or 2. They might have started okay but quickly fell through. I probably didn't want to finish the show nearing the end. I would call a 2/10 pretty bad. Tey aren't yet at that point of be not liking it entirely. There might be a reason why its still not 1/10 (most likely there are some good aspects in the show, but quite hard to find) 1: These are shows that I didn't like at all. Simple as that. I keep seeing people say that 4-1 is just different levels of bad, but I don't really like using that system. I prefer to be able to have more options in the higher rated shows. I like being able to give a show an 8/10 and saying that 8/10 means the show was amazing with very very little flaws you know? I like to give my shows that were super good room to differentiate themselves. People with 10-20+ shows given 10/10 I mean you can probably narrow those down a bit to giving only your favourite maybe 1-5 shows that 10/10. Anything for me that is 7-10/10 are shows that I liked very much. And is quite a difficult rating to achieve imo. |
