What do you think of characters who refer to themselves in the 3rd person?

For those of you who don't know what I mean by 3rd person, it's when someone refers to themselves by name or he/she instead of "I". Like for example, instead of saying " I wanna ride the carousel", a girl named Sally would say "Sally wants to ride the carousel". Have you encountered any anime characters like that and do you think it's funny/cute when they refer to themselves that way?

It's cute when girls do this not so much with males unless they are a shota trap.

Obviously japanese since there's no he/she equivalent in Japanese. Pronouns are limited in jap language (correct me if I'm into wrongings)

I love when Juvi - chan refers to herself in third person.

I think they're sort of annoying, kind of like a forced cuteness, it makes it seem like the character is trying too hard.

When females do it regardless of age, I find it adorable but dont overuse it.

When males use it..... TO THE VOLCANO!!!!!

Kare and kanojo are very common japanese words that mean, well, he and she, respectively.

It's ignorant. I've never heard an autistic person do that. What the hell does third-person referral have to do with autism!?

The language barrier prevents it from being annoying. Although, I could have sworn I've heard of this in dubs, but I believe they've been effectively blocked from my memories. I can't imagine why.

Kanojo is moar used as a formal calling than a pronoun
like ur saying "girl" or "girlfriend" instead

It sounds annoying tbh. It might sound cute sometimes, but mostly annoying. Specially if the person in question is a grown up person. They need to die ASAP.

I think the term comes from 4chan, from my limited visits to the site.

Whenever I've gone there, it's all "you so autistic, god stop being autistic". It's just the kind of term they apply to everything.

Also, I've referred to myself in third-person before but with full awareness I was being an idiot. I don't really mind it if a character does it once or twice but if it's a part of their normal speech pattern it gets annoying really quickly.

Autistic people usually have problems with socializing, and referring to yourself in the 3rd person is pretty abnormal socially

Actually someone like that did exist in real life, mostly girls, it kinda give a "childish" nuance, immature woman, though.

The worst thing is when the one who does that is an adult male, it's like i want to vomit right away, seriously.

I like it when they're cute loli's.

Or traps.

Especially traps.

Depends. Sometime it's moe, but sometime I'm indifferent towards it. Doesn't piss me off though
I'm not a lolicon, you're just projecting your tendency to lewd 2D characters.

If your favourite character is Tsutsukakushi Tsukiko, you are my soul mate.

Been a long time since I've been here, I'll continue expressing myself freely and believe everyone should too.

Can't see anything cute in it.

I'm sure there must be a clever way of doing to say something about the character, but I can't imagine it.

Its a language thing. Girls do it to be cute, but it is annoying to them Japanese people too, a lot of them anyway. I don't personally mind it in anime, but if I met someone in real life who talked like that, I would look at them as weird.
