What is it called if you have a hikikomori personality but you have a career and education?

I know technically I can't be a hikikomori or a NEET since I went to college and am in a career, but it seems like I personality identify with other hikikomori's. I don't really like going out except to work, gaming tournaments, and anime conventions. Dating or girlfriends? Forget about it, never going to happen. And my walls are filled with anime posters and bookshelfs full of figurines and manga and H games.

What exactly am I classified as?

What are you classified as? Just an Otaku that works, goes to school, and has trouble getting girls (as do most Otaku's) that's all. Also, a Hikikomori doesn't actually always have anime posters and all the stuff that Otaku's do, unless he or she just happens to like all of that stuff too, it's not a Hikikomori thing, it's an Otaku thing.
I mean as far as always wanting to stay home goes, most Otaku's (they live on the internet and usually can't live without it) do that anyways, preferring to stay home isn't just a Hikikomori thing. I usually only come out at night, you're out going to conventions now and the, and gaming tournaments, must be nice. But i know full well i'm the only one to blame, but i wouldn't say these 4 years in my room have been wasted, i play a sick guitar, draw well, and learned a few other things thanks to the internet.

- A Hikikomori for 4 years that's about to make a break through.

What do you do when you go out at night? How can you be a Hikkomori if you do? Also, if you're really a Hikikomori, how do you support yourself? I always wondered how they do it (in real life, not in anime or drama).

stock trading

Thats something Ive been looking into myself I already sort of play the market with my online store, I buy stock cheap when i find it on a good deal and then sell below retail. Its currently how im getting by but times are slow and stock is where its really at.

I also do not recommend it as a sustained job. Get a real job with a standard pay at the end of the month.

I seriously doubt 99% of hikikomori's have any skills at all, let alone any skills that would make them money while being a shut in.

You can't be a shut-in (hikkikomori) if you leave the house to go to work/school on a regular basis.

It would be like a party planner and event supervisor saying that have social anxiety. The two don't go together.

Do note that NEET, otaku and hikikomori are not the same thing. You can also be a shut in and dislike anime just fine. Like you could be an alcoholic who likes pro wrestling and nascar.

Introverted.

Some with a flattering word,
The coward does it with a kiss,
The brave man with a sword!''

Does it matter? Why do we have to label stupid things like this. Let people do whatever they want, instead of having to invent silly terms for everything.

I have the worst social anxiety and do not like to be around groups of people. I'm pretty anti-social. But I work in a preschool and am with children all day long. It's not the same..I don't feel anxiety around the kids.

Soo maybe you just enjoy what you do enough that it doesn't affect the fact that you don't generally like to leave your house? I don't know any terminology -__-

Extremely introverted and socially awkward.
☕ Truth be told, I'm quite proud of my house blend. To attain my flavor and fragrance, I use five different types of coffee beans. ☕

Obviously to find like-minded social outcasts, if there is a label there's a following. Nothing but pity here.

They don't. They leech off of their overly gracious parents. If they were contributing to society they wouldn't be a problem.

Just an otaku? Pretty sure otaku can have career and education at the same time?

Unless you have hikikomori personality but does not have any interest in anime stuff, the title will be different. (Not sure what though)
