The short fight scene was really awesome tho. Well, they're probably doing the best they can, trying to animate this arc before the anime ends due to business pressures. I'm trying not to get too high expectations. I loved this episode, btw, though I was a bit annoyed about Kamui being shorter than Takasugi (previous). Either that or Takasugi was wearing serious platform shoes. |

| Dammmnnnn this episode was amazing. Okita vs Kamui was great...and I can't believe Okita came out of it with the upper hand! What a bamf. I agree the reveal with the ninjas betraying each other (?) was kinda abrupt, but I didn't see the shogun being alive coming... I really thought he was dead. |

However, as the series goes on, the bazooka appears less and there are times when he does do his job (Rokkaku and that people fighting arena). And many people of the series has commented on Okita's eyes. The first time I remember is when Hijikata stops Okita from attacking the frog Amanto and says "you're eyes are dilated". Nobume states that Okita isn't a cop but a killer during their first meeting. Kamui also says Okita is a bloodthirsty warrior who is drawn to the smell of battle and that he doesn't care about the protecting anyone. So I find it interesting that during a hell of a villain vs hell of a cop showdown, it is not Hijikata, not Kondo, but Okita to be the one to deliver this line and to represent the police force of this series. Maybe it's character development lol as even though Kamui said he doesn't care about protecting people, Okita is willing to give up his life to protect Soyo-hime. |

| Great episode :D It's obvious Shogun wouldn't die like that so easily. Okita vs Kamui is amazing, finally Takasugi is making more appearance than ever. I hope to see Gintoki vs Takasugi soon. Can't wait for the next episode!! |

| I must say that Okita vs Kamui fight was the best, most entertaining possible matchup of all characters involved in Gintama. While Gintoki and Katsura may belong to a league of their own in swordsmanship, their fights always end up having an unnecessary mix of comedy or too much dialogue. Okita vs Kamui on the other hand was straight up a death match. |

The impact of this phrase is exactly because it was Sougo who said it. And how during the serie many of the others characters see him as an assassin who is a thirsty for blood, but in real he can be a very protective samurai for what is important for him. I think this will show better in the next arc |

Eh, that's a reasonable complaint and one I hope gets clarified through the arc, but it is kind of unfair. The arc has just started and the characters are still defining their role in it. What the series is doing is basically taking advantage of this uncertainty and playing with its cards. At this point of the arc it has the freedom and justification to do so, if it keeps accumulating plot twists once the factions are fully established I would consider this a flaw. Not at the current moment. |

| I haven't been super glued to an anime episode in such a long time. Goddamn that was good! Kamui vs Sougo fight is so fucking hype. Toshirou cutting that guys leg was a beautiful moment, but Kagura saying "TOSHIIII" was just as good, haha. While I'm glad the Shogun is alive, him being dead would have been better for a mark darkening feel. |

| It's been a long time since Okita was not serious during a fight. This fight was awesome, I was so focused on the fight that I could barely breathe. Okita is so strong!!! The blood was well done when Zenzo took the head. I wonder who was killed by Zenzo. So much hype!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

| For once Shogun Kayo wasn't used in a comedic moment XD Wow!! This arc has been nothing short of epic so far. Okita vs. Kamui was awesome. The animation was very smooth. It was like watching a movie. It's so amazing to see characters such as Okita and Sacchan take on more serious roles and show their badass side :> I'm glad the Shogun is alive, but I have many questions. I still don't think he'll make it out alive from this arc. |

| nobody is going to mention how the power scaling is completely nonsensical? if u go by the powers levels shown to us until now, sougo shouldnt do any damage to kamui... power levels should be somewhere like this (based on previous encounters): Kamui >= Housen > gintoki >>>>>>> hijikata >= sougo basing this on serious encounters in the show. |

Each side's strengths and weaknesses is quite clearly portrayed in this battle. thats some next level reaching lol do u think powerscaling is exclusive for DBZ? many shows maintain (or at least try to maintain) some kind of powerscaling, especially shounens. and its never based solely on physical power but overall skills. talking about gintama now - no use try to make excuses for the show. Kamui is no amatuer who has nothing to offer but physical strength, or at least, thats not how the series portrayed him (or the Yato in general). gintoki was portrayed as both incredibly strong and incredibly skilled. Housen destroyed gintoki in a 1 on 1, even though gintoki is extremely skilled, because the power margin was too big. Kamui went toe to toe with Housen. are we going to pretend that Sougou is more skilled/stronger than gintoki now? |
