| Another great story as usual, but this episode is definitely the freakiest one of the series. Very tragic, but also horrifyingly creepy. I thought the pyromaniac pod children were the most disturbing thing I've seen so far in Mushishi, right up until the talking-goo-head-in-a-jar. |

| Very weird episode, loved it! Episodes are definitely getting stranger. Is it just me, or is Ginko being a little too kind this episode? These mushi are abnormal, do not fit in with humans or animals, and are potentially more powerful than humans... Does this not mean world takeover by this kind of mushi - imagine how powerful it could be if there were loads of them everywhere! However, it is very interesting because they are clever and still learning about humans - maybe they will become a good ally of Ginko somehow! It makes me want Ginko to get a student sometime soon! Also, I think Ginko seemed a little scary at the start: "he must die." Wasn't it his provocation that caused them to go crazy and learn fear, and seek survival desperately. It was also his scroll that caused them to burn the house and all the possessions of the poor couple down, in addition to making them mentally scarred forever. Why did Ginko trust them to kill their own children anyway? (It was their children in their eyes). However, if the spores would leave the first child's body, then what would happen i wonder... Maybe everyone in the village will turn into one of them? It's dangerous that Ginko did something none of the previous mushishi have done in the past. |
| Man what an episode, so bizarre and a greater element of danger this time around. So many of these episodes are so sad and depressing. I find it interesting how last episode the focus was on not killing mushi, and this time it was all about killing mushi. I really loved the ending though - "Why haven't you killed me?" "Because you're still alive." |

| This may be the best episode ever. The conflict of ending the mushi's life vs. keeping the mushi alive was done well here. The mother still regards them as her children even though she knows that they are dangerous lifeforms that could cause harm to her. It doesn't surprise me that she wants to keep them alive as most caring parents love their children no matter how unusual they are. With that said, I lost some sympathy for her when she stabbed Ginko. |

| Gave birth to a slime. Found identical kids under the floor boards. Was told the mushi killed their real kid-to-be. Still raised the thing happily. Stabs Ginko even after knowing the truth. That's not motherly instinct, that's certified nutcase. |

| 0_o That was a very... quirky episode, but I loved it. It'd be awesome if that Ginko's new mushi companion shows up in the following episodes, though I kind of doubt it. I died at Ginko's reactions when he woke up after being stabbed, too good. I also noticed he woke up without a cigar in his mouth, then fell back down with one. Was that an animation error or did it just skip a brief moment where he grabbed a cigar immediately after waking up from being stabbed? Makes more sense to be an animation error. |

| I think this is my favorite episode yet. Creepy and powerful. RockDag said: Holy shish, that was effin' tragic. A mushi that kills an unborn baby and then makes copies of that baby to gather food for itself? And if threatened, it will try to play with your emotions and burn your house down? JESUS. This one of my favorites episodes so far because of how disturbing it is. Perfectly sums up how dangerous this mushi was. |

| Wow, that was so creepy, but I loved it. I can't help but appreciate the psychological aspect of this episode. Raising kids for years and then learning that you have to kill them. On top of that, then you learn that they aren't actually your kids and that they killed your actual child! And then it gets even worse when they learn how to talk and beg you to live. Imagine being the parents. Holy crap, what an amazing episode. |

| I saw the yandere stab coming, when she bent down lol. I was like NOOO GINKOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO DONT LET THE YANDERE STAB KILL YOU!!!! OTHERWISE NO MORE MUSHISHI but luckily I know there is a season 2 so he cant die.. or can he. Also great episode, Ginko the best deceiver for the better since he gave crystal for the sake that they dont end up in that mess again. "Its not our fault".. "Its not our fault either"..."Then why?"..."Because we're stronger." That was a cool quote by Ginko. Yay for us being stronger. |

| Best episode yet,probably consider this my favorite episode of the series as well and would even go as far as saying among the best episodes I've seen in the anime medium as a whole thus far. babykeiji said: Same.When Ginko was stabbed and is laid on the bed. He thought to himself "I wanna leave" with constipation kind of expression on his face. Haha! I really laughed there. Thought it was really nice of Ginko to somewhat take advantage of the parent's naivety and give them the crystal in essence tricking them into believing that their kids may not come back within their life time thus saving them from the burden of worrying about this situation occuring again. |

| THIS EPISODE TOOK THIS ANIME TO A WHOLE NOTHER LEVEL HOLY SHIT it was going normally at first, you know all calming and soothing and mysterious Then ginko got stabbed?! And I was like HOLY SHIT WHAT THIS IS NEW then the kids started talking and I was like WTF IS THIS A HORROR ANIME NOW and THAT TWIST OMFG THIS EPISODE |

| It was brilliant, I loved how Ginko scammed them in the end.. smart way to resolve it, that woman would probably repeat the same thing. this ep reminded me of bamboo children, which was kinda creepy too.. |

| Well I won't sleep tonight... the preceding episodes were rather peaceful, and then it just went really creepy... not saying it's bad tho. In fact it's rather great. Nice to see a new, darker tone. I also like how it shows that mushi can really be scary and dangerous, yet they aren't evil. |
