Lol, never episode felt so short... Was it 5 minutes long?...
Lover every single moment of it. Action was amazing (even though I don't like guns theme much). That cliffhanger, though ;/

Yuki Kajiura strikes again... And Jeez that animation :O I wonder, how much budged they have for it, I hope they won't waste everything of the first episodes

(First season still better IMO)

For the 1000000000000 fucking time, the live off of this shit. If they die and lose their gear they're screwed.

Also have you never seen CoD players or some shit go nuts over dying in a simple match where you lose nothing (not even your gear or money)?
What are you getting mad for?

Yes, I've seen CoD players lose their shit over nothing, and they still need to chill the fuck down. The fact that they get money or not off this doesn't justify the fact that Sinon spouts some BS about having pride to die under the ennemy fire: this is not Aincrad and their life doesn't litteraly depend on whether they get killed or nah.
And please: not all GGO players have the skill to live off of playing, do they? Not like that would matter for a highschool girl that doesn't live on her own, either.

Exactly and even if they make their living by playing that game, why would they panic so much just because they see a guy with good gear like their lifes are in danger? It doesn't make sense.
Even more how Sinon acts about the whole situation with stuff like "He is strong enough to smile on the battlefield"... it's a game and he is winning, of course he is smiling.

Arguments like they make their living like this or that some people are just like that while playing games (and the CoD community is probably the worst example) don't work here because they clearly intented the whole scene to look like it's a grim, dramatic, real combat situation... which it just isn't. If they meant it to be like this because of the explanations above they would've atleast hinted at it but there is absolutely nothing.

Waste of 20 minutes. Could have summed up the episode in 10 minutes. Scenes dragged out. Little to no development on the story as of yet.

Shit series will keep this shit up till they suck everyone's money dry.

No that is only your take on the situation and it is quite random.

And it is already stated in the series that some players do it for the money. You want to hint what? That they are afraid to lose gear or money?Isnt it obvious?
And for Sinon it is more than a game.

What you are doing is just sad nitpicking.

HOLY SHIT, SINON DID A 3 FLIP QUICKSCOPE SHOT ONE LEG. SUCH MLP

I think these guys take the game a bit too seriously, starting to cry because you've failed an ambush...

When will Kirito transform into a girl and the nerdy girl fall in love with him? I also want to see more of desu gun putting people to desu, desu.

I agree with the dialogue, I was like wtf when she said that but please, I don't know why you guys are missing the fact that these are introductory episodes.

Ep 1 - We were reintroduced to kirito and his harem and their current situation, as well as kirito's reason for going into GGO and the main antagonist and his death gun ability.

Ep 2 - We were introduced to the second MC, shown her playstyle and abilities as well as given an introduction to the game world and its mechanics.

I don't understand what you guys are complaining for, had they skipped all this people would have said it was rushed and how they didn't mention it before etc etc.

My enjoyment with the episode was totally dependent on Kirito not being there- I really enjoyed the first 20 minutes where we got to see Sinon be a hardcore sniper (though perhaps they could have compressed the first few a bit? It kind of dragged), and then my satisfaction dropped massively once we got to Kirito and the whole "attacked by tentacles" bit.

It's sad when my contentment with a show is dependent upon the MC basically not being in it.

Sinon's "mission" was good, we got a glimpse of her in the real world, it wasn't very exciting.

Everything else about the episode was rather average.

I loved this episode for its exciting action, but personally feel disappointed at the game. The tactics they used were extremely basic, when it looks like it is the kind of game where tactics is everything. People look easy to kill so even a high leveled player can be taken down by lower leveled people if they out think them.

This episode would have been much cooler if the combat was modeled after first person shooters you see now. Quick movements to cover, quick shots from cover, parkour over terrain, communication between players. There is no reason they can't make the show feel like a shooter game.

This game look more like monster hunter than anything else.

Don't know why they put so much emphasis on Sinon's butt... They didn't even draw it that well. (It look flat as hell compare to all the Sweet Ass Online from last season.)

Gatha laugh at how seriously the guy took the game, the fear in his eyes are real lol

It's a shooter, go out there gunblazing, do some fancy move and throw some knives or something ffs. I never met an FPS pro, but I seriously doubt they'll act the least bit similar to how those guys did in the anime.

From this respect, ALO actually worked better, as the players look like they had more fun playing it.

I guess I have the same complaint as 2 years ago... I don't think they portray online games too well, half of the time, it seem like the writer himself have forgotten whether he's writing serious stuff or video games.

I wonder if I'll grow fond of Sinon, can't quite grasp what kind of character she is. Hopefully she'll feel more "real" than Sachi from season 1.

I found Sinon's action to make the most sense from a gaming perspective.

It's a game, have the balls to go out and die.

I remember seeing people who are afraid of heights playing some sky-diving simulator to help with their fear and such

So they have movement and strength as stats to increase, right? So would higher movement or strength help that guy move the minigun faster?

Stats set for GGO:

AGI (Agility) - determines movement speed of a character
VIT (Vitality) - determines health of a character
DEX (Dexterity) - determines accuracy of a player and ability to hit targets
STR (Strength) - determines the carrying capacity and ability to wield certain guns
DEF (Defense) - determines the defense of a player

Pretty straightforward in what they do.

Actually if the games such as SAO, GGO and so on, where you actually are the person and you would kill people (whom you can touch , talk to, interact, everything like in real life) with a smile, well you certainly ain't nice irl xD

How is that any different from playing paintball?

Except painball does cause actual physical pain and bruises.

Such little Asuna and Kiriro screen time ;-(. I almost want to rewatch the series, since I really loved the SAO arc.

I don't know how I feel about GGO... More realistic violence and guns aren't really my my thing. On the other hand, it is only the second episode in so maybe it'll grow on me. Excited to see more, and very curious about Shinon and what her character is actually like.

Another great episode

The fighting was strategist, and it was not rushed like the battles we saw in SAO. Also, Sinon is cute and badass. She is much better character than what I expected. I think she is going to be my new favorite character

SAO II so far is way better than I expected. I hope they keep the quality same as these two episodes.

It isnt about what Behemoth felt.
The whole scene is "strange" because of Sinon's emotions that have to do with what you read in the spoiler some posts ago(and I think you should put the last line in tags).

As you saw at the end after she logged out
For her someone that can looks like a "badass" while wielding a gun, even if it is a game, is a target for her in order to get better.

Doesn't AGI improve rate of fire too? But that perhaps is included in "movement speed of a character"?

The rate of fire is only determined by the gun itself. The AGI determines how quickly the <<bullet circle>> closes in on the target.

The 《fire speed》 isn't the firing rate for automatic guns (that's the gun's stat), but how fast the bullet circle appears and stablizes.

That episode felt.....wasted, i mean it felt like that entire fight was for the sake of a single line at the end and very small reveal of characters.

the action was good but again felt sort of...empty in a way and the mood felt so odd because of sinon's seriousness.

It did however give a glimpse to the game mechanic but again i feel like giving an entire episode for so little show of how things work feels so wasteful.

it just felt to me like the entire thing was fanservice, action or otherwise.

It's funny to see them act like their life is on the line or something.

I'm still confused on the game mechanic though. It seems that they resemble real life in that if you got shot on critical spots (like head or chest) you die instantly but a shoulder or a chopped leg barely did anything. If that's the case then what's the point of building DEF stats and their HP? Those guys got killed so quickly it's not even funny. I get that the machine gun is probably a high level weapon but I would assume the PKers are also high level players with high level armors. Hopefully this doesn't become a plot device later on.

I was afraid Sinon was going to be that "stoic badass" with little to no emotion but I guess not

I will say they take this game really seriously..Dyne looked like he was shitting his pants the second half of the anime.. Sinon's comment about Behemoth smiling on the field.. I mean he was kicking ass.. Hell I would've laughed and talked shit.

But I did like Sinon's comment to Dyne.. It's game so go balls to the wall and die

Ehh having COD flashbacks..

I think it would be easy to forget that it is a game if you play a vr. Even in today's games with mostly only visuals and sound it happens. But if you add in the other senses it should feel a lot more real and make it easy to forget about it.
