Was surprised that Naegi was found guilty.

Monobear tried to set up & kill Naegi but Alter ego saves him.Monobear did so cause the mastermind saw Naegi as a nuisance.Originally it was suppose to be Kirigiri but since Naegi was talking about how the trial seemed weird the mastermind changed his target to Naegi.

Kirigiri saving Naegi was kind of romantic<3.

So they have to discover all the mysteries of the school or they'll all be executed.

Phew that was a surprising turn of events. Obviously Naegi wasn't going to die but I didn't expect him to have a near death trial.

Man I need to know the mystery behind the school.

Also...Naegi and Kirigiri make a good couple :D

Screwed up the investigation again.

I wonder how they'll fit the long last chapter in 2 episodes, it's probably gonna be even more rushed than the previous ones.
ok iv been holding back saying anything but what the fuck are you even talking about these past few episodes, these episodes arent rushed, especially chapter 4's which took its time. rushed was like chapter 2 where it glanced over everything and went at a trains pace, chap 4 and 5's adaptations are far from that, cause the worst they have is that they left out really unimportant parts like the bad ending or hagakure's alien encounter, they take their time and barely leave out anything, they even worked in alot of calm slow moments where characters just talk, when something is rushed those dont happen

All the cases in the game were carefully crafted, paying attention to every detail, connecting every dot. In the anime, many elements were removed from the investigation, other clues were rendered useless, others were asspulled during the trials instead of presenting them before, it makes it impossible for the viewer trying to solve the case, and even the characters themselves jump to nonsensical conclusions because of the removed content.
Let's take Sakura's case for example. Some stuff I remember was asspulled during the trial:
- The protein container.
- The second bottle that was used to hit Sakura.
- How the cabinets of poisons were organized.
Stuff that was rendered useless:
- The magazine.
Details that were removed:
- The locker with prints inside.
- Naegi and Kirigiri weighing the bottle fragments.
- The name Hakagure wrote on the magazine.
- Togami verifying that the footsteps on the chemistry room just went for the first cabinet and went away.
There was probably more, but I don't remember right now.

Due to that lack of details, unrealistic stuff happen in the trials to reach the same conclusion.

Dude. Those evidences that are left out can be considered as "not important" although it will make this adaptation very poor as it is. But despite not using the removed evidence, they still managed the trial well which they lead to the same conclusion and outcome. For example, the magazine with a dying message was removed, sure but they make it up with Fukawa's accusation to point out Hagakure being the culprit to advance quickly. In the game, they both deny on not being in the recreation room. With Fukawa's accusation in the anime, they advanced quickly without beating around the bush.

And that's the problem: it advances quickly at the cost of plausability and wit.
Oh, and let's not forget it becomes impossible for the viewer to solve.

I see. You still haven't gotten over with the adaptation's nature of rushing things. xDD I thought it was very clear with our prior trials. xDD
Yeah, it sucks. Makes the mysteries more like a joke and childish though I still have hope with the final chapter's adaptation. They usually need more than one evidence to convince but I think the anime will use one evidence to convince everyone and probably will come out of thin air again. xDD

Thanks DJIzzyIzzyHitler and DenjaX for explaining the bad end. I guess Fukawa has to be dead if Togami is to have a child with Asahina given how infatuated Fukawa is to Togami LOL

Actually, Fukawa seems to have died giving birth to a child, her child with Togami of course, they both wear glasses due to bad eyesight so that child having to wear glasses make it even more possible that they were Togami and Fukawa child, since both of his parents have bad eyesight. How else can Fukuwa died when they live in peace?

Beside Hagakura predicted that his child and Naegi's child will have the same mother, he never said Togami's will too.

I was under the impression that Fukawa was the one taking the picture and made Togami hold an image of her so "she" would be in the photo.

This episode was full of plot twists yet again! I totally thought Kirigiri was just deceiving Naegi the entire time and pretty much blamed the murder on him. I never would have thought we would see an execution scene for Naegi though, that was pretty cool. Alter Ego saved Naegi! :) Kirigiri x Naegi moments during the basement scenes were really nice. So Kirigiri is the Super Duper High School Detective and her father is the school's principal?! Wow, these revelations... Really enjoyed this episode.

i recently read that in the Dangan Radio show, they confirmed that Togami's kid was in fact Aoi's and not Fukawa, as we had all imagined lol. I just wish they could have hinted what could have possibly killed Fukawa. We will never truly know. Imagine Fukawa surviving and being a mom though? I just, idk. Togami's smiling face will forever crack me up.

As always, main characters don't die.

But how can he forgive them easily? He should at least be angry at them even for a minute. He has the right to.

Okay Mr. Smartypants. Let's see you be the director. Make up a rough timeline about how this episode (or the Oogami trial episode which you used) should play out. You have about 21 minutes, good luck. See if you can include everything. The only way you could add more time is to remove the opening, and continue the animation over the ending, which they have done numerous times. Would you rather have them only cover 3 of the cases in 13 episodes and hope that executives green-light the budget for a second season? That wasn't gonna happen because this show is a non-moe, adult mystery show.

This show is actually very, very, good in that it's remaining faithful to the source. If a show deviates, people cry about "they changed too much and it's not faithful!" If it doesn't, you have haters crying about what couldn't be adapted. Did you cry when Clannad didn't have every side character in the game, even though its adaptation is 47 episodes? No show can follow a game/visual novel adaptation to the letter; deal with it.

Lastly, you're trolling with that "the viewer needs to figure it out" comment, seeing as how you've already played the game.

By the way, one thing this episode did have that the game didn't was Kirigiri's look of despair, her lip bite, and tone of voice right before she states she can't die here, before pinning it on Naegi. That elevated the episode, and I hope they show a few more moments like those which weren't adequately shown in the game.

Also, I can't wait for them to uncover why they are all gathered there will all of the information.

The mastermind obviously isn't a brainaic, but anyone could think of easy way to win that game (from kurokuma perspective). The trial failed (naegi wasn't trully guilty) so he could execute EVERYBODY (as it stands in rules). It would be fair and he would won the game, also noone would be able to solve the mysteries behind that school, cause they would be already dead.
So i have 1 question, why he didn't execute them ?

When i wroteplot of that series i thought it would be best anime in that season, but unfortunately the murders couldn;t be even called the riddles, cause every killer made the simplest mistakes possible e.g

- showing the knowledge that only killer could have
- using skills that only killer had
- murders in anger

And using locked room to something as simple as suicide is just below any level (and they had problem to solve that !) :/

Naegi got lucky that he have Alter Ego to save his ass from being crushed. I wonder why the same thing won't happen if Kyouko is the one being voted guilty. Alter Ego is a being dick?

The final trial, I wonder how they are gonna handle it.

I think it is because of Naegi's luck? If Kyouko's the one in there, being executed, Alter Ego won't be able to plant a virus in the system? Who knows. But that execution is one of the scariest for me (imagining myself in that position ugh)

What do you mean "win" the game? Monokuma's goal isn't to kill everyone, it's to broadcast despair worldwide in a gruesome reality TV show as the brightest students from the academy that represents the hope of the nation are driven to betray and murder one another. That's even why there's a rule to prevent a killer from killing more than 2 people, because he doesn't want mass death as that won't make for good entertainment or despair. The only reason he accepted Kirigiri's challenge at the end is because she announced he cheated and everything is being broadcast, so he can't go back on his words, and felt cornered.

I hope you aren't doing that for Dangan Ronpa. There is a LOT in the game that is cut out in the anime, and it is very much deserving a full playthrough even if you watched the anime. It's not even just the anime practically skipping the investigation parts. For starters, every character is developed through hanging out many times, similar to social links in Persona games, and that's where a lot of them get developed, and of course that's all cut out in the anime. For example, the anime never even explained why Leon looks the way he does (I remember someone being surprised a baseball player looked like that), whereas in the game he makes clear that he isn't into baseball at all and has different dreams in mind.

So Kirigiri's blaming Naegi in order to continue her investigation.
Naegi almost gets executed, but then he was saved by Alter Ego.

Woah, Kirigiri is the daughter of the principal?

Hope vs Despair. The final battle is on!
Will Naegi and friends solve all the mysteries in the school? I hope so.
I’m always searching for something, for someone. This feeling has possessed me I think, from that day… That day when the stars came falling.

I did try playing DanganRonpa 1 at first but the pace was too slow so I went through the walkthroughs on youtube and watch them until the end lol. It was pretty enjoyable to be honest. Lots of detail. Have to agree that the anime missed out a lot of key elements to certain cases but I guess there is no choice because they have to squeeze in a lot of things into 13 episodes.

Thanks for showing the bad ending picture. So if Kirigiri had "died" no one would have been able to solve the mysteries behind the school then. Kirigiri is the hope of the group then? With Naegi of course.

Really surprised at Naegi almost getting killed. I wasn't really shocked on Kirigiri's explanation on her past. She knew to much then the normal students and when she said "I'm used to seeing dead bodies" indicates that she was affiliated with something that includes investigations.

If it was broadcasted (and it was) and he decided to execute naegi then every spectator could tell that he was cheating anyway, because in rules it is said that everyone will be executed when they choose wrong culprint (spectators knew that naegi wasn't a killer). It means he didn't care about spectators opinion (or what i think is more possible that author didn;t even thought about that).
Also there were only 6 people alive already so killing them at that time wouldn;t be a waste, cause there were not many of them already and it would definitelly be a true despair if they died that way (after accusing innocent person and without solvin any mystery of that building). They also had no chance to figure out who killed in that short amount of time, so they fate would be unavoidable (true meaning of despair)

the trial is so fast like only 10 minutes or so, and didn't show any "you got that wrong!" scene. I wish that when Kirigiri said her lie there's should be the yellow text thingy and Naegi just skipped it. But it's good regardless.

I think the next episode will show the investigation and trial, and ended up with

really looking forward for the next episode

Classic plot armor. Naegi can't die, he's Super High School Level Luck.

And wow, Kyouko really is Super High School Level Detective. Guess that was a given though since she always acted like a detective.

I still wish we knew more about Mukuro and why the ED shows all of them now even though six of them are all still alive.

Get answers to your previous questions. But it is unclear how Naegi and Kirisagi survived a fall from such a height. Ordinary mattress and trash bags obviously could not break his fall.
The next two series promises to be hot. It is waiting.

To be fair, trials are held in the school's basement, which 1) is underground and 2) requires an elevator to reach. The ladder in the trash room Naegi ended up leading to the first floor of the building so I wouldn't be surprised if his fall wasn't as long as we expect.

That aside, I'm still waiting for that guy who called Kirigiri annoying for "acting like a detective" to show himself and see what he has to say lol.

This is the same series with talking teliporting bears,a super saiyan wrestler girl, a biker dude gets zapped into butter, and 16 year old girl can make a sentient AI with a vast spectrum of interactions and personality

Its just suspension of disbelief

Jizzy as you would call yourself because youre a dick The most butthurt award goes to you And clearly you havent watched that many shows thats why you cant determine if a show is unique or not Or maybe you're just a child who likes common stuffs where hero saves the day and guys gets all the girls. Sad taste you have there kid you came up to me in the first place making you look more like a kid who got slapped without me even knowing it and start crying about it to me

I'm so tempted to click all these spoilers but I must wait. ;n; So relieved when Naegi didn't die. What a twist. I can't wait for the next episode.
