| Man... Black Maria is so hot... Don't mind me. But, my god the animation in this episode was just too beautiful. Those transitions and all the hype that was building up for the face-off finally paid off at the end. A great episode. |

| Episode was mediocre aside from the animation during the Kaido scenes, but I'm not enthralled by pretty color so to me it wasn't special or amazing. I don't clearly remember the chapter that this episode adapted, but for some reason it felt like they adapted less material than usual, although maybe it's just me. |
| Half of the episode was Yamato trying to kidnap Momo but the rest was pretty goated. The Two sword style from Oden used against Oden by the Akazaya members was a really impactful and amazing moment. They hit the same wound as Oden did which will hurt Kaido a lot. The animation was fluid and insanely beautiful. The coloring was well done and the overall pacing of the episode was pretty fast. No episodes for the next 2 weeks IG. |

Outside of fights, Luffy is the definition of stupid and when it comes to leadership, Luffy's always rushing into fights and ruining Law's strategies. He jumped Kaido and got demolished by him and thrown into prison. The Retainers admired Oden because they were nothing before they met Oden, he took them in and turned them into strong Samurais. Him being an idiot doesn't matter because if it did, then none of the strawhats would follow Luffy. As much as idiots Luffy and Oden are, it surely must mean something when smart people like Robin and Denjiro are following them. I also wouldn't call Oden a horrible leader since he turned Kuri, a whole region full of outlaws, into a peaceful land with just his charisma alone. Oden was simply someone who put everything on his shoulders while Luffy can rely on many others. Anyways. Scabbards vs Kaido was rly good. I remember thinking that the fight was gonna happen in Ep 1000 and even though it didn't, this whole ep was much better than that episode since it didn't rely on nostalgia like Ep 1000 did, just pure hype. Ngl I'm glad that this fight received the animation that it deserves. The second part of the ep was unbelievable. The only bad part about the ep was the Yamato scene (Hearing "I'm Oden" and "I'm your father" as she's running after Momo for several episodes is annoying and creepy at this point. She's a 28 year old woman who's running after a little boy and pretends to be his father even though they've never met before) and the dragged out flashback where the Scabbards fight over who inherits Oden's sword style (The spent an entire minute on the same shot and it was filler). |

Returning from a journey to see his country shattered into pieces and his people suffering only to leave them again because he wants to see Raftel? You think Luffy would make a deal with some asshole to dance like an idiot for months only to gain nothing for it in the end? Because I don't think so and that's why Oden is a much worse leader than Luffy is. |

However, if Luffy was in Oden's position, he would've decided to still attack Kaido after seeing the hostages, and countless of innocent people would have died. Gator said: only to leave them again because he wants to see Raftel? 1.Oden wanted to give up on the whole thing when Toki became sick. He wanted to back with her to Wano and she had to threaten him with divorce to make him continue the journey. 2.Oden would have never learned about "Joy Boy" if he didn't see Raftel/Laugh Tale. The whole reason why he wanted to open up the borders of Wano was because of what he learned in Laugh Tale. He wanted to open up the borders because of Joy Boy arriving in the future. 3.Roger only found the One Piece because of Oden. The storyline wouldn't exist without Oden because if it wasn't for him, Roger would've never found Laugh Tale. If Oden didn't go to Laugh Tale, he would have never told his Retainers to open up the Borders of Wano. The plot in Wano probably would've been very different if it wasn't for Oden seeing Laugh Tale, his Retainers wouldn't know that they'd have to open up the borders. Gator said: You think Luffy would make a deal with some asshole to dance like an idiot for months No, Luffy would have still attacked Orochi and Kaido after seeing the hostages, and thousands of innocent people would have died because of that. Oden chose to sacrifice his pride and honor for the sake of his people, if Luffy was in his position then countless of people would have died because Luffy would have rushed into things without thinking, like always. Then again, Luffy did let Bellamy and his crew beat him and Zoro up, humiliation is something he's willing to go through, so maybe Luffy would have agreed to the deal if he realized the gravity of the situation. Oden was afraid of the casualties, that's why although he knew that it was probably a lie, he had no choice cause either he sticks to that 1% of chance that this can end in the peaceful way with no hostage and citizen dying, or he chooses the violent way immediately and hundreds of innocent people will get hurt and die, including his own family. Kaido did imply that Roger and Whitebeard would have done the same if they were in Oden's situation and Whitebeard chose to not take revenge on Kaido for what he did to Oden because he was afraid of the casualties that the battle/war against Kaido and his crew would cause. Gator said: only to gain nothing for it in the end? Nothing in the end? Oden saved thousands of hostages and his retainers. If he didn't do what he did, countless of innocent people would have died. If Luffy was in position, Wano would have turned into a slaughterfest with the blood of innocent people. Gator said: and that's why Oden is a much worse leader than Luffy is. So are Roger and Whitebeard bad leaders as well? Because they would have done the same if they were in Oden's position, and Whitebeard chose to not avenge the death of Thatch when Blackbeard murdererd him. Someone who's a good leader would do everything for his people. That's what Oden did and if Luffy wouldn't do the same in his position due to pride, then he's the worse leader between the two. |
| I just can't take any of the samurai seriously, they are just so weak in comparison of Kaido, why is it even dragging so much. They're just so god damn annoying and it's maybe the slow pace or the constant flashback of Oden, but it's really starting to piss me off Maybe we'll get a One Piece Kai one day where there isn't 9 episodes in the same useless fight |

| I didn’t notice if the episode was slow this time, it was epic. Animation is over standards this time, the Nine Red Scabbards are doing a great effort and actually hurting Kaido. Is it me or the only thing that Kaido is doing is using his super resistance to tank attacks and fight back, is not like he’s skilled in something, just very strong. |

| The animation was really good this episode. The samurai are doing much better then I thought they would. They will lose because Luffy vs Kiado got to be the last fight. But maybe the weaken him or make him to unable to go into dragon form and Luffy beats him in human form |
