How desperate for views must one be to plagiarize off MAL. And they literally just went with the first two reviews on the site, that's just asking to be caught.

That brings me to the question... and I know you're reading this right now, Mr./Ms. YouTuber-who's-reading-off-of-MAL-reviews-right-now... does this person actually WATCH any of the anime they "review"?
Based on the Bakemonogatari review i've seen, no. The mispronunciation you mentioned earlier is usually people putting different accents on different letters, saying the silent letters or getting two letters mixed up(in my experience at least) but i've never seen someone mispronounce every name in the show that badly, pointing out Senjougahara as the class rep was just the cherry on top of the cake for me. But why would they even review a show they've never seen? Is it because they heard that Monogatari series is popular and wanted to get views?

I appreciate how you felt compelled to report this behavior, OP. I have a lot to reproach to mainstream anitubers like Digibro or Chibi, but at least they create their own content, they don't steal anything ipsis litteris. (not that I would give a shit if somebody stole my content, as my goal is to spread a message)

I doubt the scrub would have grown beyond 1K subscribers but it's better have his momentum killed than take the risk. Fundamentally, it's natural to take a look at a review, study it and provide a summary with the intention of furthering it. Copying it entirely and claiming it as the sole fruit of your intellect is different. It is distasteful.

I do agree with the point of the user above. It's needless to persecute him further. Being exposed is sufficient enough shame brought to his name.

I'd probably say that the reason would be in your last sentence.

Yeah @NameLessMofo @sorcery I'll stop, I'm still not happy that they were copying MAL reviews almost word-for-word for at least a year, but there is always a limit. Again like I said before, I don't really want them canceled, I just hope that they don't do this anymore and I made this post hoping to see if there were any answers on how to deal with something like this.

Yeah okay, but the guy has on average 5 views on his videos. I wouldn't want to encourage people clicking on his videos.

It's kinda funny how people can plagiarize and not feel guilty about it

Those are some mad detective skills (:
They barely have any views so it's not like it matters in this case.
I'm unsure if this can be reported.
I still don't understand why would anyone want to plagiarize MAL reviews of all things, they are quite terrible no wonder they have no views lol.

Imagine plagiarising a MAL review. I’m glad they’re not getting much attention from their plagiarised reviews. This isn’t middle school, cut that plagiarism shit out.

Makes me sad that some people would rather take the easy way out and rip other people's content for their own shitty videos. It's disrespectful for to your audience. They deserve better and you can always do better yourself as a YouTuber.

That is a crime, fool. You violated the cringe avoidance rule. In short, you are cringe, and at least be heedful of where you're capitalizing as well.

LOL who cares? They have 100 subscribers and their last video got 2 views.

If they ever get big enough to have an audience, others will catch on like you did and call them out.

Wow, if you actually watch the videos, they are trash and no one would watch them anyway.

Now I am more concerned with OP's desperate need for attention to make a big deal out of nothing.

Mod Edit: Double post merged

Yeah but since they have a relationship i’m pretty sure they wouldn’t mind either way. It’s different if someone is plagiarizing without the other person’s consent or knowledge.

That's true. Both of their "favorite anime of the decade" videos were awfully similar, but since Joey and Akidearest (can't believe you forgot her name since she's the most subscribed anituber) are actual friends in a relationship, I'll give them a solid pass.

AshitaNoJonas said:
This reminds me of some fairly popular non-English anituber who stole Digibro's reviews and translated them into another language.

Then again, Mother's Basement did suffer from this as well...

Oh yeah, I think that was actually the channel I was talking about! Apparently she stole from all sorts of big channels, not just Digibro

This person seems kinda pathetic if you ask me and not only because she's stealing other people's content but the way she seems to be whispering into the microphone.

I wasn't even able to see the video cause it was taken down but i can see off the comments on this thread that it sounds kind of pathetic. It really is sad though to see people plagiarize with no credit especially on a review.

I did mention some more videos throughout this thread that you can still watch and compare to the MAL pages if you're interested:

Now I understand what you all are thinking... I'm probably nitpicking. I thought so too, so I decided to check out more of this YouTuber's videos.
And it turns out they have done more anime reviews... and in the same way. You can go check out the differences yourself by picking one of their videos, checking the MAL DB page for that show, and look at the reviews as you listen.
I've checked their Bakemonogatari "review" and it's done in the same way, which straightup plagiarizes the first non-quote sentence of 8thSin's review. Their "review" on Smile PreCure even shows the YouTuber just straightup going on the MAL page and reading off the synopsis and reviews (the latter they do after searching up a bunch of pictures).

I wonder how he had reacted after watching this thread lol

They're definitely reacting by deleting the videos I've mentioned throughout.

I've been watching more of their reviews, like their Full Moon wo Sagashite and Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne (don't be surprised if they get deleted after this post) videos... yeah more and more of them are plagiarized from MAL, they've pretty much done this for a long time without anyone noticing.

Their Full Moon wo Sagashite and Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne videos can still be watched here, go to the MAL anime pages for both and listen carefully as you read the top reviews if you want to compare for yourself:

But yeah it really is sad to be seeing this situation.
