| It'd be nice if MAL upgrades html layout from the unstructured mess of the 90s' table/tr/td which seriously obstructs restyling the site using custom CSS in Stylish. Or at least add the suiting class names in as many tags as possible, avoid !important keyword, don't use inline styles in elements. So instead of body > #dialog > tbody > tr:first-child > td:first-child {background: white!important} we could simply use .ep-info-block {background: white} |

| I like the idea of removing the "favorite anime/manga/etc" section for people that don't have any favorites. I don't use that stuff so I don't want it cluttering my page and always telling me to add some. Although that might confuse newly registered users into thinking that there is no such possibility to begin with, so it needs to be done carefully. In the "Anime/Manga Stats" section it's not very clear what the blue bars mean, maybe you could make it so that some text popup would appear when you point the mouse at it. In general, these bars are a bit useless maybe; personally, I don't find that info particularly interesting. Perhaps a pie chart based on the number of watching/completed/etc in your list would be of more interest. Overall I like the profile page a lot, I hope the changes won't be too intrusive and most of new stuff will be optional. Improvements are very welcome, just please try not to make thousands of people complain and scream "bring back the old layout!". If you use YouTube regularly, you'll understand what I'm talking about. :) |

| I'm ok with any updates, as long as I can keep the whole custom profile layout, I know not alot of people care, but as a designer, it gives me that whole personality feeling to my profile. Maybe make it easier for designers to make custom layout on their page, instead of that hefty and bulky amount of bbcode we have to use, and sometimes our layout is offset no matter what. Maybe a fix in like better control of it would be nice! I mean I'm probably one of the few that even cares, but hey I'm part of this community too! c; |

I also support showing ban status and removing of the random anime/manga thing Maybe making the bars more useful, after a certain amount they just go dark. It was interesting to see how they grew as you first started watching anime, they shouldn't come to their limit so easily, maybe it loops over with a different color or something like that. How about when you hover over the stats you get some additional info(like the info that's at the bottom of each section). How many are tv, specials, movies, etc. Maybe their mean score underneath all the stats for everything(where the random anime/manga thing was) and when you hover over each bar it tells you the mean score in each section. I was also thinking maybe some sort of wide header somewhere above the profile picture. Not the whole width of the page but the same as the normal header now. |

| I think you really should include the option which allows you to make your list private, but friends could still watch it. It makes much easier to give recommendations and other stuff, even if the person don't want to make his list visible for everyone. Now there is no such option sadly, personally I've really needed it. Also I support the idea about the hiding of the history and page's custom layouts |

I'm not entirely against the idea, but I think this kind of features are more appropriate for the panel than the user profile. Your profile is supposed to be visited by other people more than you do. Your panel, on the other hand, is your home. Even the MyAnimeList logo takes you there. We're all excited about this development and all, but we should keep in mind that not everything belongs to the profile page. Hopefully, a panel update will follow. |

Making too many changes will have people like me demanding the old layout back. Reason why I am suggesting that you make an layout option for us users who don't want the profile page to change. | If there could be a way we could 'edit' stuff without getting too involved in all that CSS stuff, that'd be great. Though, I don't want you to remove that completely. It can come in handy, but really, for the beginners or the noobs, some simplicity to the workings might do. Then comes the 'top friends' and other stuff that I can't really see why they exist. Either remove them or give some significance to them. That's all. I really appreciate all the work you guys are putting in. |

| Here's what I think: Favorites, first and foremost, serve as a showcase on our profiles. We present them as a quick taste of our likings. For this purpose, small numbers are preferable. The secondary purpose of favorites is that they're bookmarks. We keep them as lists that we revisit from time to time. Since we already have our anime and manga lists, not to mention that we can rate them individually, this is only valid for characters and people. For this purpose, the limit should be as high as possible. Ideally, there shouldn't be any limit at all. If you're worried about them taking up too much space, keep in mind that the presentation can be different; our profiles could still display a limited number of them, at random or by our own selection. |

| Based off of what I've read thus far regarding the suggestions given throughout this thread I will share my opinion. Good + Removing empty favorite categories for users who don't use them + Giving more features to friends who have added one another + Display bans on user profiles + Providing a "delete all" button for comments + Having a top 3 section for favorite studios. I find it odd to be able to put a studio, which is a really board perspective of people in a group, in the same location as favorite people, usually containing a group of 1~4 people. + Adding notifications when receiving profile comments. Especially if suggestion for comments to be within spoiler buttons is accepted. If I talk to the same person 10 times in a row comment-to-comment, how will I know they messaged me something new if their comments are constantly hidden? Checking it every time when they may not have replied yet, but am expecting it, is very tedious. + Remove requirement to add an anime/manga relation to blog entries. + Allowing a manga updated by volume count to be shown in last list updates. I read volume per volume over chapter by chapter so I approve of this. + Allowing an option to delete all entries or certain entries (i.e. plan to read, dropped, etc) within your anime/manga lists would be helpful to some people. + Instead of adding an image limit per about me page, make it so that the length can only be about a certain amount of pixels long. I've seen some really nice designed profile layouts that require many images to be cut up properly to link to a source, but then I see many profiles that are just images/gifs/videos upon images/gifs/videos stacked up on each other and the lag becomes immense on certain profiles. I feel like a change like this would reduce the lag from gif spamming, but allow users who like to design layouts continue to do so. If people wish to exceed the pixel length limit they may use a spoiler. + Upon completion of a re-watched series, show re-watched instead of completed. Bad - Moving the comment box. It's fine where it is. If you move it, it will be harder to access because as Phraze mentioned. Page End already solves that. - Pop ups + more info on hover for anime/manga stats. - I don't really like this suggestion. I like the idea of having the info available, but not upon hover. - Achievements for recommendations + reviews +forum posts. Dumb, dumb, dumb. Imo, that's the wrong kind of encouragement to use to encourage activity, because chances are the posts won't grow in quality just quantity. It won't feel genuine beyond that point. |

| I read most of the comments, collected some of the ideas and made a basic concept, it doesn't include all of the ideas above since not all of them are related to the designing perspective that I'm curious about. http://store1.up-00.com/2015-05/143111096561.png please zoom in so I think making the profile flexible is an interesting idea, think of it like Andriod's widgets panel, every slide or widget has it's own properties, some have specific size that can be changed and some not, the profile can be made of 4 small slides width or 3, the concept above is made of 4, we can add, delete, edit and hide slides from popular audience, some slides cannot be edited like the stats, and so on, I don't know if this is a heavy coding thing or not, I just made it from a designing perspective, it lacks some accuracy and needs some color editing, and fonts sizes also have some issues, I just wanted to give a general look. the profile picture doesn't have to be like above (square), it can have more length. Also, I thought of these -choosing a specific color for every profile like Twitter's (links color at least) -Background system similar to the old twitter's system instead of the cover picture. -Last season stats (included in the picture above) -Customizable title each user can use, just for fun of course. |

This is an idea worth thinking about.. MAL had basic stuff like profile pictures showing up without the help of Javascript before. I would like that back, if possible. I used to disable Javascript before since the About Me section won't load without Javascript - helped a lot when my internet connection was poor. |
