〖Paul Shinji concludes the first episode.〗 PEEENGUINS! Let me say this again... PEEEENNNNNGGGGUUUUIIIINNNNNSSSS Sure, I may not be too interested in the opening or ending song, but it was very cute and gave quite a couple ideas to what I'm to look forward to. I see why there were two brothers too. They both represent the different opinions that appear during death or when a loving family member/someone gets sick. The beginning was also very steady to introduce many different concepts that deal with fate. The little kids that passed and one of them compared an apple to the universe. Obviously an apple holds much symbolism in the anime. I don't really care for Himari's VA. It's too soft for my liking. The anime very well shows the differences between the two brothers. Then in an instance when a Penguin appeared, my heart dropped. I went ballistic. Yes, I do have a semi-annoying loving for Penguins. Cute Penguins such as these! I was happy and disappointed when the brother got home with that one Penguin. At first, there were Penguins doing things that I thought was awesome, yet hysterical. A Penguin chopping celery with a knife, a Penguin knitting, and then a Penguin using bug spray to kill a bug. These aren't simple Penguins. Then when the video got to the part with the Strategy, Survival, I was a little intrigued. What here is exactly going on? Then when I saw the ending... oh boy. |D A brother almost kissed his sister. I think he meant to kiss the girl that gave his sister another life. That, or he really wanted to kiss his sister. It's probably hopefully an "in" the moment feel. Cause you know, she's alive, when she's suppose to be dead... IGNORE ME |
| I loved every moment of this (the incest give it a weird twist...). I am definitely sticking with this anime. From what I've heard, it has the potential to blow my mind. I was pausing it every shot change because the background art is so detailed. It looks amazing. |

| INCESSSSSSSSSTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT Hot diggidy doo dah Mother fucking incest. Woah, talk about fabulous. Catchy opening. It did feel a little rush and like there was a lot of things just happening at once, but I liked that no part was meaningless, that every second had such beautiful art or something wonderful going on. That transformation scene was THE BESSSSTTTTT. I loved it. You could make a masterpiece AMV from this one episode. Literally. I think youtuber Chiikaboom did it? Also, INCEEEESSSSSSSSSSTTTTT. |

| Just one episode and I'm already in love with Penguindrum - nice art, bright colors, catchy songs and penguins, this show has it all :3 I was a little confused at the start because I honestly thought Shoma was a girl, but the end confused me even more - survival strategy? Himari/Penguin girl ripping Kamba's heart out? Kamba kissing Himari while Shoma is having a nightmare? I can't wait until next episode, hopefully they'll tell me WTF is going on! |

| Obviously most of the people here who were disgusted by the "incest" haven't seen Yosuga no Sora...... I for one loved the first episode. ^^ Seems as if this is going to be a great show. It feels like a mixture of Kuragehime and Princess Tutu. |

The cool thing is that fiction can explore themes that we in real life can't/won't. Anyway, as I said before it's a god tier first episode. I will finish this series this time damnit! |

| Penguins kick ass. This first episode was so good, like a multi-layered roller coaster. One episode in and this could already be a 10. Unless the staff messes up big time, but there wasn't the slightest sign of potential weakness anywhere. insan3soldiern said: Well, it's still bothersome, it's not like you can help how you feel. | That was actually pretty interesting. Seeing a lot of mixed thoughts about the rest of the anime, but that was a pretty eye-catching first episode, imo. Not bothered by the incest. The colors are nice, the art is nice--though the animation for the 'unimportant' people legitimately makes me laugh...I am willing to stick with this for a bit and see where it goes. |

| This was just totally amazing! The way they introduced the characters with even including a dramatic part and then directly making it more epic! This start sure is one of the best I've seen recently! Great pace with a nice art style and concept to the story! I'm sure i'll love this anime! Lets see what the whole thing has to offer us! |

The color palette also is great : you can really feel the Ikuhara vibes and sense of aesthetics here. Oh, and the transformation sequence was glorious; can't wait to see it again in the next 23 episodes, lol. This is gonna be goood. |

| So i jumped into this not knowing what it was about or what i should be prepared for. Just about everything i look for in an anime has been unfolded in the first episode, psyche, rhetorical, a complex and oddities. most excellent. |

| Everything about that was captivating. EVERYTHING. Interesting thematic material delivered with refreshing formal conceits. And cute penguins. If it keeps this up, I can see this becoming a favorite. Fingers crossed! |
| I agree. I just started watching too and I dig it. I really like the small touches, like how random people walking around look like icons, or how the subway is portrayed as a bunch of stops between white space. Penguins are cute. Magical girl transformation is dope(SURVIVAL STRATEGY), some fucked up incestual undertones, 3D characters and good music. Already watched the second episode but this show is looking to be pretty great. |
