Good, not great. Such emotional scenes. They could have drawn them out longer and took away from some of the previous episodes that were in 'preparation'.

The pacing was really bad, at least to me. Especially during Sasori's transformation and Sai's flashback. It just didn't seem right.

Overall though, it was a nice episode. I thought I'd shed some tears, but it wasn't executed well enough for that. I felt like I was reaching to feel emotion, if you know what I mean like that.

Also, the fight seemed too quick. I was looking for some crazy action-y scenes, and instead we get a badly paced emotional pour out. I agree with others that Sasori was changed too quickly.
It also made me lose the feeling that Naruto has a special gift of altering people's mind sets. If Kankuro did it to Sasori - in like what, 10 seconds? - then is Naruto really that special?

3/5 - Not looking forward that much to next episode... I'd like to learn about the Reanimation Jutsu, but I feel like I know enough to go along with the story haha.

I rather enjoyed it, and while Sasori did seem to give up pretty quickly there was a fair amount of time skipped there. He probably had a good long time stuck there with all those swords in him to think about how little he wanted to keep fighting :P Kinda odd to see Sasori as a kid, so he turned his parents into puppets as well? Odd they didn't show up in his fight, then, or did they? It was a pretty Sakura-centric fight so I largely forgot about it.

It was odd that Sai and Shin didn't actually fight at all, Shin's only 'attack' was involuntarily blowing up and then being reanimated. Hopefully the next episode will fill us in as to how exactly the two managed to dispel their Edo Tensei's. Is it really just causing emotion to stir in their hearts? That seems kinda a lame way to defeat the army of the dead, try and fend off their attacks long enough to figure out their dismissal trigger, and then solve their problems with Talk No Jutsu. But fairly in keeping with Naruto, I have to say.

Next episode all the tension between Madara and Kabuto comes to a head, should be awesome. I'm sure Kabuto won't tell Madara everything, he's far too wily a snake for that. I doubt they'll actually fight, at most they'll threaten one another and maybe flash a preliminary trump card or two.

Deidara is being really annoying and looks like Kabuto is getting in some trouble with Tobi. I don't think it is such a good idea to tell him the secrets, they should just engage imo.

He sort of has to tell the secrets as they are partners in the war (at least business wise) to gain each others trust. However, it does not seem that Kabuto knows all the mysteries of the Edo Tensei as he himself mentioned in this episode.

I like the idea that the Reanimation Jutsu has a weakness (since how else could the good guys win if the zombies were completely invincible) but the weakness being that they can be basically talked down with an emotional moment is a complete cop out, and robs the audience of a fight.

I never liked Sai and didn't care much for his backstory, but I was still looking forward to him fighting his brother, and maybe even seeing some emotions resurface. But then he sees that picture and just disappears before anything interesting can happen, and then the same thing happens to Sasori just as I was getting used to having him back.

If the same pattern happens every fight, then there is absolutely no point in even bringing the dead ninjas back to life in the first place. It's especially likely that this could happen since the same thing basically happened when Naruto talked down Pain, and if that happens again with zombie Pain I'll be extra pissed off.

Decent ep.

4/5!

Next ep should explain why things went too fast in this ep =)

I feel better about the re-animation jutsu now. It seems to cheapen a character's death if they can just be brought back to life so easily. There needs to be a finality of the sacrifice to make it seem worth while, if characters are brought back all the time, dying loses meaning. In this episode this was used to give closure and that seems better to me than just randomly being able to bring anyone back from the dead.

Amazing episode although it feels a bit rushed, expected more of a battle between all of them.

I was surprised that Shin and Sasori managed to be "set free" or w/e you can call it but it was really beautiful. Can't wait to see how the other fights/encounters pan out especially Shikamaru and Asuma which I'm guessing and hoping will happen.

As always, the soundtrack kicks ass!

I felt that the manga did a slightly better job and tugging at my heart when sasori passed down his mother and father puppets. But the animation where he was being freed from the jutsu made it fantastic still.

There's too many talking in this thing. Stupid flashbacks pop up in every episode. Deidara and Sasori get beaten by a bunch of fodder. Looks nothing like a war. I'm prepared to be disappointed.

Sasori's end was a bit 'cheesy' IMO, Sai was too emotional in his flashback, sasori's flashback made me angry as they were talking about sakura, only needed to show sakura's face and thats all, all the rest was unnecessary

Total crap, Kishi tries his hardest to squeeze emotional scenes out of every character, the #1 thing he fails at...I mean look! It's fucking Sai, wasn't he emotionless? Doesn't even make sense and if it did, then the Sai arc itself doesn't.

If you are gonna criticize at least criticize something valid like how easy they got defeated by guys that couldn't come close to their level in the past. Not something that makes you seem like a complete idiot or someone who doesn't pay attention while watching.

I was actually a little disappointed. Here we had a chance for a good fight scene and we ended up with a backstory. I can understand Sai's brother disintegrating after hearing reason, but Sasori? Shouldn't there have been a little more battling before he came to his senses?

I love the idea of the reanimation jutsu having a weakness! Especially that it's this weakness. I sense some epic sad moments in this arc :333

But I did dislike how quick this episode went ;_;.. and Sai no more emotion? Wa he looked so happy in the past.

Man, what a great episode. Sai's face made me laugh hysterically. It was sad to see what happened between him and his brother. Thank God Danzo is gone now. Sasori too, though he seemed to have a bit more kindness in his final moments, and I respect him for that. Looking forward to the next episode, though again I hope Anko's life isn't in danger.

Yeah, have to agree with 1lau- but yet again we saw them fighting with all their might in previous episodes and it were long battles. So here, knowing all of their techniques it was no use to prolong it not to mention that they grew lvl up by receiving "infinite bodies". That's why the fight was that short.
Still, pseudo edo-tensei by pseudo Orochimaru (kabuto mutant) is pseudo.

That was touching and tragic x_x;!!

Sai was such a cutie blushing and really smiling but now things make sense to the one who doesn't read the manga.

I felt happy that it wouldn't be just an ongoing never dieing re animated "characters" and that there like a ghost who hasn't finished what they wanted to do/see so when it's presented to them they can rest in peace. Hopefully Kabuto can't pull there emotions completely though.

I am sad though cause Asuma ((pretty sure that's his name)) is back x_x;!!! And it's soo sad they die again I can almost match which re animated character that'll be paired with each shinobi!!

Anyways want to talk more about it message or comment on my profile!

This was epic:

Really awesome episode. Edo Tensei suddently seems weak but I guess this won't happen with the rest of the "reborn" characters; I mean, there's no time for such sentimental and touching things like these when the "real" war goes down... Loved it though *.*

Now akatsuki has no Ambush/Comando squad and the Shinobi Forces' squad can proceed with their ambush.

So, Kabuto lured Anko and the rest of the team to Akatsuki's hideout just to capture Anko? Well, if he wants to use her in some research or such that kinda makes sense but... well, it's just weird to have all that work just to capture her... Oh, and Kabuto's plan (according to Madara's thoughts) is to make Akatsuki and the Shinobi forces destroy each other? Hum, I wonder what would Kabuto achieve with that....

Sai is so cringe. Still not sure who I dislike more, Kabuto or Sai. What the backstory showed was that his character introduction to team 7 was complete bs. The backstory tries to show him turning off his emotions after his brother died, but his entire character was that he had been raised to not even know what emotions were. For example, when he first met Sasuke he was making a big deal about being afraid and feeling fear when he wasn't supposed to have emotion but we see plenty of fear when he has to face his brother to the death. This guy had to be taught what a smile was by Sakura but is laughing and smiling all throughout his backstory...stupid.

The only good thing that has happened since the beginning of this war was Gaara's speech. I hate the reanimation; it's super op, hack and cheap. There should be a MAJOR cost to the user (like not being able to move or cast an more jutsu), a time limit or they should not be indestructible (that's the most ridiculous part).

so I'm assuming the weakness of edo tensei is that when the victim reaches his emotional climax he will break out of it, that's the blindspot of how kabuto's unit for this episode is, now that we've seen the weakness, will he be able to work on the technique in just a short time? that's tons of edo tensei units tho

Looks like the Edo Tensei isn't as broken as it seems. There's still some flaw in them. Looks like Kabuto hasn't used it to his full potential.

Ngl Shin and Sasori's death were kinda sad even though they didn't have enough screen time after being reanimated.

Looks like when they feel they have achieved everything they wanted, their souls are set free or something like that.

Apparently edo tensei actually gives resurrected ones about 20% of their power, otherwise I see no possible answer for this ep.

First part with Sasori and Deidara "fighting" looked lame, surprisingly Sai and Shin moments didn't give me any feels as well, but there suddenly came part where Sasori passed away. Previously in my eyes he had been pretty bland character, with sad past for sure yet without any deeper intent, just villain living for weird sake of his "art" and I only started to like him a bit when he died, his last moments were intresting. In this episode, during his short talk with Kankuro, finally I could truly see depth of his character and that his "art" isn't at all like Deidara's "kaboom" - just another villain-typical excuse to raise a riot - but something with much more intresting meaning.

This episode made me gain more respect for Sasori and finally stirred up some feels since edo tensei had been activated. Mostly for the 2nd part, 5/5
