It's about the amazing hunters out there in the world. Just wait until you get to Chimera Ant arc, it blows anything One Piece has done out of the water.

Yeah, the ending for the latest volume is even more weird.

Oh yeah, the show just randomly ended. I guess they were super close to the manga, so they stopped. I'm pretty sure it will eventually continue since there's still a movie coming up.
