| i love the funny episodes but i think i like the serious ones a bit more. also, Gintoki always seems like the most immature guy but during these serious episodes he really is the most kind and mature out of most of the characters to be honest |

| What an actual fuck Mitsuba actually died i thought she will recover because its Gintama you know this show is unpredictable af.Sometimes they go deep with their story. I know this show have a lot of great arcs but this arc was so impactful and memorable. Hijikita actually cried in the end i almost cry too. |

| OMG that was so emotional! I was hoping for Hijikata to at least talk to Sougo's sister!! My love for Hijikata just leveled up. And I'm liking Kondo more, he is really a nice guy. |

| Damn you gintma. I came here to laugh, not to get even more depressed. I will say this, I dont usually shed a tear while watching anime or watching movies, but this, this teared me up. Its so sad to see lovable characters like this die in such a way. This whole arc was incredible. I already had the feeling that this would be a sad arc but I was not prepared for the final scenes. I love Gintama after this. I love the entire shinsegumi now. My respect for Hijikata, Sogo and of course Kondo san has increased to a new high. Their backstories are just so damn good and impactful and the way its connected to the present is masterfully done. I will say this again. Its the comedy series like this where the sad moments hit harder and I am proud to shed these tears. |

| When I first watched this last year, I actually put a hope that Hijikata will talk to Mitsuba at a least a little bit at the end and Mitsuba will stay alive, but that's not what we got :'( Hijikata want Mitsuba to be happy with someone else that is "normal" but I wanna see him be happy with the person he loves too :'( And yes def one of the best mini arcs in Gintama! I also love the fact that Gintoki is included in Sougo's 3 bad friends ^^ |

| It's amazing how in 2 episodes for this arc only, Gintama managed to craft a simple yet emotional rollercoaster of a tale and executed it really well for the most part. I think my only negative is that the usage of music at times could have been reduced a bit to make the whole situation feel more emotional naturally but besides that, this was great stuff overall. It was nice too seeing Gintoki act like a bro in this arc overall after being bribed with parfaits. Nice to explore Sougo and Hijikata's character dynamics more here alongside Kondo and even Gintoki to a small degree as Sougo referred to him as one of his three rotten friends that he was glad to have. The ending too with the spicy crackers that Hijikata had was a touching way to close this arc off from his end. Shame he never got to meet Mitsuba before she passed away but given the circumstances, kind of fitting. RIP Mitsuba. |
