Yeah, I'm done with this show.

I mean, after the first season, the only reason why I stuck with this show was because I was watching it with my sister and making jokes with her. Turns out, she never liked how perverted and offensive my sense of humor is - fair enough, she's a 16y/o White woman and I'm a 20y/o iFunny user. Couple that with how we always argued about when to watch it (read: she was a "maybe later" type of person and I wanted a concrete time that was also "before tomorrow"), and during the months-long hiatus she finally decided tonight that we were done watching anime together as a whole.

Turns out, without her presence, this is just a generic, boring, dime-a-dozen fantasy anime. Except the first season, I still have fond memories of that one.

My sincerest apologies, Ferris, mi amor, but this show isn't for me.

I mean, yeah, if you don’t like it, you can just stop watching. Butt you can’t call this anime a generic, everyday fantasy isekai. I get that it might feel boring to you compared to the days when you watched it with your sister. But that doesnt mean it’s just another typical fantasy show, it means you didn’t understand it at all.
Lo siento man.

Then tell me, what's the big hook that makes Re:Zero different from your average isekai? Return By Death used to be it, but that barely gets used anymore.

@Fishb0i damn idk the well-written characters, themes, and underlying mysteries? The series isn't just about RBD and constant suffering and it's trying to show that it can be more than that gimmick.

You need to start with an interesting setting for any of those to be good hooks, and Re:Zero falls squarely into the generic pastel fantasy setting that damn-near every isekai anime takes place in.

have watched this episode a week late but yay Re:Zero has finally returned after a long wait.

it seems Garfiel and Wilhelm's battle was short lived, quite unfortunate.

Reinhard just came back to life just like that and despite being unable to damage Regulus, he is still ragdolling him around.

also got to see Priscilla booba this episode :0.

@Fishb0i You probably don't actually comprehend what's going on in the story About why RBD isn't being used anymore. The biggest hook of the first arc was Rbd for sure. But later on for me it was the downs and highs of characters and especially the world building. How can you be actually this stupid to not understand the difference between the average isekai and Re:Zero? Your average isekai is arifureta, Maou-sama, fking smartphone isekai. THESE are your average isekai that doesn't have Good World Building, Realistic Characters, Ongoing Mysteries and fanfics. I think that you are watching this with a turned off brain or you are actually that dumb to not realize the diffrence between these isekais.

The first thing we see is Priscilla's big tits. LOL. Other than that, the fight has started and they're up against some of the toughest, and things are on par so far. But, it doesn't take long for things to turn in Re:Zero.

as much as I love the characters showing their true nature and abilities, I am slightly disappointed with Regulus being hesitant and hinged compared to Season 2. to be honest, he's just not terrifying from when I first saw him xd

@melody_melon23 the anime is the one to blame! he is Top 5 the strongest characters of the whole anime or even 3, but the way the anime is show him off doest even look like that

It's been a while since Episode 8 aired, so I don't remember the details of what's going down.

Again, everybody has their own battle under way and it seems that Priscilla is with Lilianna enacting a plan of her own. She also briefly stripped for a moment in the beginning and ending up “exciting” both Lilianna and myself to say the least.

The battle with Regulus is not just about strength, but saving his “wives” from the fate they've been dealt.

I don't know how Otto pulled that double fish attack thing off, but I doubt that'll be enough, so we'll see what goes down with that.

Since Episode 10 came out too, I'll react to that immediately!

Regulus versus Reinhard is giving me major "Unstoppable Force versus Immovable Object" vibes. Although which is which depends on who's doing the attacking.

Subaru the Dumbfuck speaks up in just the right time so Emilia can be put in danger by Regulus. Great job you fucking CUCK
Everything Regulus says to insult Subaru are fine words, 100% correct. You're a disgrace! Hurry up and kill him now!!

On the other hand Otto is so adorable.

Priscilla undressing herself is quite the view, especially towards Liliana with her big boobs, and Anastasia just has to barge in at the wrong time lols.

Regardless, it's finally the counterattack of Subaru and gang against the Sin Archbishops, even though the meeting of old friends and enemies still sour the atmosphere, the pivotal one being both Subaru and Reinhard crashing of Regulus's wedding with Emilia. And being desperate to prove his point, Regulus will do anything possible to turn the tide over to his advantage, and Reinhard willingly so to sacrifice himself knowing that his plan will work out a win-win solution, that's exactly what he did to save Emilia out of Regulus's hands.

The 2nd Sin Archbishop of Gluttony of Lye Kaitenbatos that Felt was facing, that now includes Otto, he's trying to play the bargaining negotiator, and like the experiences he has, lures Lye to Julius and Ricardo. As expected, Reinhard may have took a massive gamble with the help of the phoenix, but to thwart his invincibility takes time and intelligence, and also to free his numerous wives from his control. Even both Wilhelm and Garfiel are fighting their own battles.

Felix being ambushed by Lust, that's quite the nightmare.

At the beginning of this episode, Priscilla looks very nice. I can't blame the songstress for drooling over her.

The fights have become and Reinhard is as op as ever. I was laughing alongside Subaru when Reinhard couldn't draw his sword.

Al is going to ambush Lust in the next episode. I'm certain of it.

I have been Team Crusch so far but daamn Priscilla is stunning! And she's showed us that she can defend herself well. Her confidence in challenging Wrath tells us a lot about her skills.

Also, wtf is Julius doing telling Gluttony his full government name?? Now Riccardo's gotta fight Gluttony all alone.

Finally, it’s battle time—and the animation? Oh, it was good. Not sure what to even say about Reinhard—he’s like the literal definition of an overpowered MC. But hey, our boi Subaru finally got to embrace his love, Emilia. 🥹

As for Regulus... I seriously wonder what that guy is even made of—he didn’t take a single scratch. And those wives of his? I just feel bad seeing them like that, not even daring to move a muscle. Not sure if I should be amazed at how well he’s “tamed” them all or horrified at how miserable he’s made their lives.

Pretty jam-packed episode! I have so many questions though lol

Like why are there multiple gluttonys(ies? y's?)? Why is lust seeking Crusch? To finish the job? Is Garf dead?

I'm mildly upset at the ex machina that Reinhard had, i thought it could've been cooler to genuinely kill him, and it being Subaru that defeats Greed, but maybe that's just my love for classical shonen tropes shining through.

I'm kinda sad that this season looks like it's going to end with only one arc, as opposed to the previous two seasons that at least had two arcs each. But, this arc is amazing so far, so i don't really mind so much.

Banger episode, introduction scene was peak. Liliana the freak Bard getting her shit going was probably an accurate portray of how a percentage of the fanbase would act if they were in the same situation as her.

I'll also admit over the course of this season it's also been really cool seeing more sides of each King Candidate especially in a scenario where they have to work together against a common enemy. Definitely beats my initial memory of them all kinda being self centred towards their own goals and not being the kindest, now character's like Anastasia's i've actually grown to like and respect with the amount of effort she's put into the offensive front and helping Subaru, same goes for Priscilla. Even though at the start of the season i was kinda

Speaking off, i'm looking forward to Priscilla vs Sirius. Both of them got that million dollar smiles and I feel like they're conversations and banter mid fight are gonna be entertaining.

Again, hyped to see Regulus vs Reinhard and how the fight would go. Ngl seeing Regulus drop Reinhard in a single attack was crazy, actually triggered my JJK Chapter 236 PTSD so fucking bad I gasped lmao. Whelp unlike that though Reinhard's Quick-Revive perk kicked in and I actually had to search up what "Divine Protection of the Phoenix" was and jesus christ. Even with knowing what that blessing does, i do find it nice that he was willing to still experience death and believe in Subaru to believe in Reinhard's plan.

As much as i hate to admit it as well, Regulus has also low key grown on me. Even though I still REALLY hate him for what he did in Emilia's past to Fortuna and being responsible for Petelgeuse's transformation, AND also assisting in Rem's mind wipe, seeing his character more he is way more mellow then i thought he would be. I definitely thought he'd have more of an ego and scream a lot more like a child throwing a tantrum but surprisingly not so i'm interested if they'll actually flesh his character out since the intro kinda hints to me there's more to him.

Also really like how the Archbishops actually seem to have a some what counter attack or trump card planned, even if it's all probably not co ordinated and just each party doing their own plan without informing the other, it's cool to see surprises like 2 Gluttony's and Lust using a decoy, instead of all of them just sitting at their camps waiting to get attacked like a Far Cry game.

Um so cool and all but did like Garfiel and Wilhelm get the really short end of the stick here? The two of the were sent expecting to fight hordes of beasts, the resurrected former sword saint and the 8-armed brute (who even with a bigger team they couldn't defeat in the first place), AND Lust herself, who, kinda seems like she's the strongest of the archbishops after Regulus. Kinda seems like a death sentence....

But it's probably find because they will no doubt pull out the power of friendship or something out of their ass and save the day. Plus they don't have to deal with Lust, because she went after Crusch.... man neither Crusch or Felix better die man not like this

edit: also on a side note, just noticed that RBD hasn't been used at all since it going crazy in episode 2. Still don't understand (or just forgot) the whole lore surrounding return-by-death, like who gave it to him and what it's end goal is and all that, but for now I'll just take the fact that it hasn't been used all this time is because well, maybe Subaru is getting more and more competent. Anyhow, never liked all the resetting anyway. I know it's how Subaru learns and everything, but it always feels like we're redoing story over and over again, which is almost the case. And while it maybe be incredibly painful and frustrating for Subaru, it also kind of takes away the stakes(?) because we know if he dies he can just start over. Or maybe the thing is that he has to be very very careful nonetheless because he never knows what the next spawn point is (who or what is setting that btw), and that some things might not be undone, like certain character deaths, if he progresses forward to far without dying himself...?? IDK MAN i'm talking out of my ass ignore me I'll re-watch the first 2 seasons after this maybe. Just saying that I'm glad we're going through the story without it being used a ton. Like what if Subaru dies right when the fight was about to finish and they were right about to save the day. That would be... kind of annoying, right?

@BetaMaleUltra I'd think most people watch re:zero for the misery corn than not and the redoing part is what makes it interesting for them (and me), otherwise it just becomes another average isekai fantasy.

@QcDiablo And that's fine, I'm not hating or anything here. It's just I feel the world in Re:Zero isn't explored much, at least in the anime, so the only thing that makes it more interesting for me is the RBD. Also the fact that I was so pissed at Roswaal turning out to pretty much be some simp might be partly to blame for my lack of interest this season...
