Gintama. I've seen some hilarious slides on Pinterest but I haven't been watching any anime recently, now that I've entered the world of donghua and c-novels.

Naruto, I feel like I should watch it because everyone knows it. Also I'd really want to watch D.Gray-man, Diamond no Ace, Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu, Katekyo Hitman Reborn and Yuu Yuu Hakusho. Maybe I'll get to them after I finish Gintama, it also has many episodes but it's just too good, I love it when I find a long-running anime which is entertaining.

Literally any Pre Cure anime. I watched, finished and enjoyed Hugtto. I'm interested in watching more, but damn is it an investment. Especially if you're wanting to catch up on the whole franchise. There's a new Pre Cure almost every year and each season is around 50 episodes.

Getting through InuYasha felt like a marathon. There are two other series I'd like to watch that are around the same length, but the thought of trying to get through them is quite daunting. Those two are Urusei Yatsura and Ranma 1/2. Interestingly enough, all three are based on manga by Rumiko Takahashi.

Detective Conan looks very interesting but.... 950+ episodes....

Oh, and Legend of the Galactic Heroes is 110 episodes long, but honestly it's completely worth it, this anime is a masterpiece

also I had the genius thought to begin a few long animes in the same time. So, now, I have Gintama, Inuyasha, JoJo and LOGH in my Watching List
I don't regret it though, they're all good or excellent animes

Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu, though the art style is also a contributing factor that makes me not.
Then there's Monster, i started watching it some time ago but i just kind of ... stopped, i really wanted to give it another chance.

Honestly, Gintama is the main anime that i wanna watch but it has 300+ episodes. I managed to watch the entirety of Yu Yu Hakusho in 6 days, but Gintama is a little longer in my opinion.

No one. Even one piece kinda looks short to me.

One Piece. But I guess that's one anime many of us want to watch but think otherwise because of the length.
Another anime would be Katekyo Hitman Reborn. I watched one of the fights in YouTube and it feels like a pretty big deal. But it's like 200+ episodes so...

Monster and full metal alchemist brotherhood. The more episodes a show has, the better it has to be. If not it’s not worth my time.

The only show with more than 37 episodes that I watched in recent time was Code Geass, and that show was only barely worth it for me. Shows that were too long in my opinion include: Toradora, code geass, watamote, Haruhi series, death note, and more. Yes, I’m a fan of shorter series.

All these users thinking twice about Gintama because of the number of episodes and then they will watch it and most of them will drop it. I am sure of it.

And then a few to reach episode 305 would look back at 304 episodes prior to it and would wonder how was this even possible. They would look up Sorachi Hideaki and understand why he is considered Japan's favourite mangaka and why Gintama is considered the #1 shounen anime in 100 years of anime.

Maybe if Gintama wasn't 370 episodes, I'd actually finish it. As it stands now, I watched 30 episodes waiting for it to "get good", but each episode is pretty meh and forgettable. I'm guessing either the Gintama fans were overhyping it and are making mountains out of moehills regarding the "emotional weight" of these formulaic, episodic sob stories, and that Gintama doesn't really have a turning point where it all comes together. Or it does, but I'm not slogging through another 200 episodes of filler to find out.

Oh man there's a lot, but the ones I badly want to watch are Legend of the Galactic Heroes, Hunter x Hunter and Monster. I keep hearing really good things about those but they're so long that I'm too lazy to start them.

I understand what you mean about Precure. I watched every season up to Doki Doki, no idea how, but kinda got bored after that so I never started Heartcatch.
Maybe you could try to watch one or two episodes per day, that's what I usally do.

Galaxy Express 999 really looks right up my alley but the episode count is immense... Same with Lupin III part 2, I loved everything I've seen of Lupin and I've seen a few part 2 eps, but that's a lotta episodes...

And there's Gintama, which is on a whole other level. I already watched 50 episodes years ago and I've been considering finishing it but if I did it would probably be the longest anime I ever watched to completion. Considering I watch anime at a snail's pace, I would have to shelf other anime I could potentially watch, too.

i agree with the argument "if you like the anime, then its good to have 100+" and thats really motivates me, and with that in mind, this year i start to watch Precure and Gundam series
Precure (excluding Star Twinkle) have a total of 733 episodes, each serie have 1 movie, and it have a bunch of specials and crossover movies... but i accept the challange, so far i watched Futari Wa and Max Heart (49 and 47 episodes) and the 2 movies, and i go forth the Splash Star this year still, i plan to watch 3 series per year (about 149 pisodes) and all the respective movies related to them
Gundam series, its basically the same thing, 3 series per year, i decide to begin with the others timelines besides UC, so i already watched Mobile Fighter G Gundam and New Mobile Report Gundam Wing, and i will still watch After War Gundam X
now the series i want to begin with but the episodes number scares me a bit its Aikatsu series, Detective Conan, Fairy Tail, Yu-Gi-Oh
So basically i think "if i dont start now, maybe i start later, but it will be worse, because of the number of episodes will be higher" and i comfort me with "if i dont like the anime, i just dropped it", simple

The only multi-cour show I've watched so far is Fairy Tail, and I'm not even finished with the second (2014) season, let alone the Final season! I've been watching it for years now! It takes me so long to get through anything that's 4+ cour.

But even so, I still want to get to them eventually. I have a rule that I only watch one multi-cour series at a time, so anything else that I might want to pick up later will have to wait until I've finished all of Fairy Tail.

The ones I've had sitting on my PTW the longest and the ones I'm looking forward to the most are:
the original Mobile Suit Gundam (and basically the entire franchise)
FMA/FMAB
Hunter x Hunter
Eureka Seven
Digimon/Pokemon (to relive my childhood)
Soul Eater
Bleach
Naruto

One Piece is the opus magna that I want to watch one day. I've watched the first 18 eps and have it on hold currently. I'm tackling Black Clover and Hunter x Hunter 2011, which are both lengthy shows, by watching one ep per day. Once I've completed these I'll start One Piece.

I see i'm not the only one a bit overwhelmed by the amount of Gintama episodes haha. I started watching it recently. It's kind of confusing how there is the core show and then multiple continuing seasons/movies outside of that. I'm not really sure if it's all canon or what? I think the manga is like 77 volumes too. It's a hilarious show though and i'm really enjoying it. It's worth watching.
