| The directing of this episode was somewhat weaker than the others... specially on how Sendo's past was presented. Also, that background song was VERY annoying and out of place (sound wise, at least)! First episode in the series that disappoints me. =.= |

| Aww the flashback of Sendo's past was kinda out of place.. The fighting was so intense then comes a flashback? awww The sound and image of Sendo's ribs fracturing was scary! LOL XD If Ippo does win the fight.. i'll feel sorry for Sendo, losing 2 matches straight.. he might even retire :-/ |

| God damn it, my prediction! Well, it can still come true depending on how early the fight ends next episode. Man, I don't know what match I like more, Ippo vs Date or Ippo vs Sendo (Match 2). So hard to choose...I'll make my final decision depending on how this fight ends but those two are definitely the best in the series. |

 Freaking amazing, one of the best fights I've ever seen in anime and the OST just made it even more epic. I must've forgotten how good it was just to enjoy it to the fullest once again :) Such a great rivalry that you can't help but want both of them to succeed. |

| Jesus.... I'm literally physically exhausted watching this. I cringed hard when Sendo's ribs started breaking. Seriously though, this is one of the most intense anime fights I've ever seen. How people are saying this was the worst episode of the series is beyond me. So next ep is the end of the first season. What a huge note to leave people on |

| This has been a most unexpected delight. I almost passed up on watching it because of the character design. I'm glad I stuck it out because this turned out to be on of the best tale of fighting spirit and inspiration that I have seen to date. |

| Awesome fight. I was thinking Sendo would win this fight and make a tie 1-1 in their matchups but looking the damage he took with the 3 blows on the ribs makes me think the win is headed towards Ippo more. This season 1 will end magnificiently either way, glad I found this great anime! |
| This fight is tooooooooooo amazing! This is one of the best fights in all of anime so far! Also loved how ending 3 was playing near the end of the episode. There is not much else I can say. One more episode of greatness to go. I cannot wait to see how this match will end. At the same time however, I don't want it to end. But both of these furious boxers are reaching their limit! LAST EPISODE... HERE WE GO! |
| Didn't the preview of the last ep show the end of the fight, regardless more is always good, another phenomenal episode, they are proper pushing eachother to the limit and i cannot even guess who will win, no hints at all. |

| Seeing them duke it out more evenly and superbly than ever in the 5th and 6th round was already gloriously beyond words but the OST used for this moment was absolutely perfect in making the raw emotion as powerful as it can be. Everything's so damn manly that I nearly cried the whole time. Everyone's well aware that what they're seeing is something you don't get to see just anywhere. Ippo and Sendo's finally going to find out the meaning of what being truly strong is in a short while. |
