| It is true and the case that I am also a male and my avatar is of a female character. But I don't see what sex (as in, the sex of the character in question in relation to your own sex) should have to do with your chosen avatar anymore than ethnicity or race, nationality, religion, height, or even species. For my part, I would rather have an avatar be a picture of someone I would enjoy frequently gazing at - which the ever-lovely Nanoka Kohinata certainly is, and for the same reason the same picture is my main profile page image. And also it's a way of never forgetting or neglecting to pay tribute to and honoring a character from the anime series which originally got me into anime and which remains one of the most special and important, not only anime to me, but one of the most special and important pieces of media/art of all time. |
