Hello~
Have your experienced an anime season which not even a single anime interest you?

What do you do when that happens?

Forcing yourself to watch something? or just skip the whole anime season?

Nope. My taste is way too trash for that to ever be a realistic problem.
If you reply back to me and I never respond, I lost interest and don't care. Sorry about that.

No. Usually there are at least a couple of decent shows every season.

I never skipped a whole season yet, but sequels of established franchises often carry many seasons. The only new ips I am watching this season so far are
Tsumasho
Amagami sisters
Dandandan

Happens all the time. Just watch a movie (watch one Scorsese movie each week, enough material to get through the season) or play a video game.

In that case I would just watch something in my plan to watch list and take a dumpster dive to see what to watch.

I always have something to watch, even if it's trash. Though a slow season like that I might have some incentive to watch stuff I skipped out on in preparation for the next season like prequels to sequels.

usually when that happens, a time machine is brought to me by some unknown entity. i then travel to the future, where I know ill find an anime season full of anime that would in fact, interest me. however, i end up creating a time paradox and end up back in the present, facing the same anime drought. so, this time a different entity brings me a new time machine to avoid that paradox, only to find that the future me is now stuck in a cycle of constantly avoiding bad seasons. its a never-ending loop of disappointment and regret.

I watch something that is not seasonal, or another type of series that is not anime. It's that simple.

Some seasons are better than others, ngl, but i havent been on a season were there is nothing to see there is always one show that catch my eyes. I always keep an eye on the memes, if there are memes about it, then it is probably a good anime to see, thats how I discover Alia sometimes speaks in russian (i wasnt going to see it before it).

Now, if there is really nothing to see, then I will reach to my trusty "Plan on watching" and pick something.

No, never. If anything, I usually have the opposite problem, and too many interest me to realistically follow.

Most of this decade's seasons have been exactly that.
Who are you and why do you show your hostility towards a complete stranger whom you've not once spoken with before. Are you seriously asking to get blocked? Well, if that's what your intent is; to tempt me into throwing hands with someone as lowly and insignificant as you, then i may grant your wish provided you articulate yourself a bit better when trying to spite a person of my wavelength.

"Forcing myself to watch something", sounds like such a chore. I'd rather watch an anime that's finished airing, read some manga or do something else entirely instead

I don't think I have seen a season with literally 0 anime I wanted to watch, but I do vaguely remember one season where I dropped all the seasonals I started.

Well, the answer is simple. The seasonals are no different than the anime that came before, I don't understand why people fixate on them so much. Of course if its a series you had been anticipating I understand the excitement and want to watch it as soon as possible, as its airing, but if we are talking about "I just want to watch some good anime" there is 0 reason to look at the seasonals. So yeah, just spend like 1 minute browsing your plan to watch, or worse case scenario, go spelunking in the MAL database for something that looks interesting.

It could have happened if I watched seasonals 20 years ago, not now in the golden era of anime. Even the worst seasons have at least 1-2 good anime and a few more watchable ones.

In any case, if it happens it's not a big deal. I'll just go through my plan to watch, plan to rewatch and plan to retry (from my dropped list) faster than usual.

There are seasons I completely skip because I am not actively watching much anime at the time, but I don't remember the last season in which I wanted to watch seasonals but couldn't find anything to at least try.

I just watch old anime from the 90's to middle 2010's these days. I'm not really a fan of modern anime a lot of the time, so often I only watch a "recent" anime after 1, 2, or after only 3 years have passed since it had come out.

Idk why lol.

A lot of anime these days just feel to have lost their spark. It feels like a lot of love and effort used to be put into older anime. But these days, it seems like most anime studios pick a manga story up, overworks their staff and then the end product of the anime looks good and modern, but I can't rub off this odd sense that something about it feels soulless. Idk. Maybe there's just something wrong with me lol. I don't know what it is, but that's just how I feel.

Not saying that animators in the past weren't being overworked like modern day animators, but again I really just don't know what it is, or if I am even wording this properly.

Yes it has happens few to many times. And what I done is look after some older anime's I may have missed or forgotten. Sure I started watching anime 30 years ago but boy you should know how much anime you never knew about when internet was not that common or when you only had a 56k modem.

It's funny that this came up today since I just looked at next season for the first time a moment ago and didn't see a single show of interest.

I have a few this season that will stretch for 24 episodes, but there's also plenty of old stuff on my PTW to dig into.

I'd probably skip it, I've skipped seasons in the past because of burnt out. It has never happened yet when I am not burnt out with anime though. Especially now, there are just so many anime releasing every season so there would at least be 1 that catch my interest.

If that do one day,I will feel like wanting to die,but after, I will just take 5/6 animes of my animes's list that count over 900 animes still waiting for me☠️.

that was pretty much spring 2024 for me but i guess konosuba was there, although it was the weakest season and i mostly enjoyed it because everything else was worse. think i gave a couple decent scores but nothing memorable overall that season and i was very glad to see it end.

Summer 2024 season was pretty close but I did find Shikanoko koshitantan, Shoushimin Series and atri my dear moments somewhat interesting.
I did Force myself to watch something like 20 seasonals.
Why? I'll lose my mind if I don't find something to pacify, anime and sports help to occupy my mind and as it was summer, there was only baseball.

If it happens, I'm going to continue watching finished shows. I'm watching both finished and airing shows in general, so only the last part will fall off then and nothing big changes for me besides having more time to watch finished shows.

Same here, sometimes a hidden gem or underrated show, besides sequels to shows I've seen that I enjoyed or like st least.
