Hiya everyone, there's some ideas for threads I've been considering but this thought has been burning for a while... This is a more straight-forward topic and should hopefully be a breath of fresh air for those who hate scrolling through my detailed threads... (I haven't been this simplistic with my threads in a while...) though I suppose it's also that there isn't much to say as background info or anything haha. We all love music—right?—and many of us love anime openings and end credit sequences. I mean, asking people what their favorite anime OPs and EDs are a pretty popular topic here on the Anime Discussion board. But what if you found an OP that had such an awesome song that you couldn't help but replay it constantly... and then find out that the artist behind it doesn't produce anime songs anymore? This brings me to this topic—are there any bands you wish came back for more OPs/EDs? This is primarily about music bands since those are most likely to stop producing after a while, but you can include individuals too. Below are my top three picks on this. ★==============================★ 3. Kalafina Kalafina (2007-2019) was this awesome J-Pop band with three very talented main female vocalists formed by (nearly) everyone's favorite composer, Yuki Kajiura. Seriously a shame that they disbanded a while ago, I will always love their work in the Madoka Magica franchise and I will totally miss hearing their awesome performances when the 4th movie Walpurgis: Rising / Rotation of Walpurgis comes out. "misterioso" - https://myanimelist.net/anime/11981/Mahou_Shoujo_Madoka%E2%98%85Magica_Movie_3__Hangyaku_no_Monogatari Video contains obvious spoilers for the Rebellion movie. ★==============================★ 2. savage genius "Omoi wo Kanadete" - https://myanimelist.net/anime/688/Uta%E2%88%BDKata Holy shit is savage genius (2001-2007) underrated... I found out about them from the equally underrated anime Uta∽Kata, and I would love to see more anime that featured them. I know Pandora Hearts is known as a bad adaptation, but I'll watch it just to look forward to Yuki Kajiura's music and the ED they performed for it! Apparently this band is technically not discontinued, but one out of the two members have retired and the band hasn't made anything new since. "Itsuka Tokeru Namida" - https://myanimelist.net/anime/688/Uta%E2%88%BDKata ★==============================★ 1. Field of View "DAN DAN Kokoro Hikareteku" - https://myanimelist.net/anime/225/Dragon_Ball_GT SO SHORTLIVED, WHAT THE HELL?! Field of View (1994-2002) only ever performed TWO openings and they both rock!!! The most well-received thing about Dragon Ball GT is apparently the opening, and it honestly deserves the praise! And of course, everyone's probably seen me shilling it lately, but Yu☆Gi☆Oh! Season Zero is awesome and its OP is frickin awesome!!! Definitely would be in my top 20 anime openings from the 90s for sure! PLEASE COME BACK— "Kawaita Sakebi" - https://myanimelist.net/anime/550/Yu%E2%98%86Gi%E2%98%86Oh But those are just some of my picks... how about you? Any bands/artists you wanna see return for at least one more OP? |

I was going to say savage genius. But OP already said it, lol. But really, there's a better answer for me to cite: Melocure. While they've just done music for relatively unheralded series, like Stratos 4 and UFO Princess Valkyrie, their one and only one album is my favorite album of all time. They're a duo formed by Megumi Hinata and Ritsuko Okazaki. Okazaki's songs are particularly my favorite. She did the music for other series before forming the duo, including the songs for Fruits Basket -- the original series, that is. Unfortunately, they can't get back together even they wanted to. Ritsuko Okazaki passed away in 2004. Right after they'd released their first album. ;_; Rest in peace, o angel of song. Thank you for blessing this world with your music. |

Alrighty then!! now for the disbanded band to comeback lets see which ones do i want. Didn't expect the other 2 choices but still good picks as well. Naifu did one of the ops for detective conan with "mysterious" and also my personal favorite "take the wave" in Golgo 13. Kalafina, now i was introduced to them in Black Butler with Lacrimosa as i saw Black Butler before i did Madoka and i became a huge fan of Kalafina by the time i started watching Madoka and Magia is one of my all time favorite eds. I really hope they comeback along with Claris for Madoka 4. Side note Masuda Yatsunori composed the black butler series soundtracks btw. @Metropyramid my good friend would be happy if me and her would hear Janne Da Arc made a come back since me and her are really into visual kei and they did a few anime ops as well. As always it was a lot of fun posting on this thread Fario and thanx a bunch for making this thread ^^ |

Came here to talk about Kalafina and how almost everything they've brought out have been incredible, but they seem to be covered ig - I'm glad but also a little disappointed that they've already been mentioned - I don't really have anyone else to talk about, so allow me to harp on about them. Admittedly, I'm a little biased towards anime featuring their vocals (and Yuki Kajiura's music), like Fate/Zero (Manten, to the beginning), Kara no Kyoukai (overture, oblivious, sprinter, ARIA, seventh heaven, ongaku, fairytale, snow falling, dolce, etc.), Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works (believe, ring your bell), Madoka Magica (Magia), etc. Ofc, they're all really good anime in their own right, but Kalafina's songs really added a new dimension to whatever was going on (notably Manten from Fate/Zero and Magia from Madoka Magica). While watching the Fate/Stay Night: Heaven's Feel trilogy, I vividly remember thinking that it would have been great if Kalafina's songs had been featured considering the tone of those movies (but Aimer did a fantastic job, so I don't have any complaints). I have a half a mind to watch all the other stuff featuring their songs, lol - I'm definitely checking out Aldnoah.Zero and So Ra No Wo To someday. Considering the fact that they were originally brought together just for the Kara no Kyoukai series of movies, they did enjoy a long tenure, but I'm sure everyone will love having them back again if it's at all possible. |

I grew up with 2000s anime, I miss the "combination" Kawada Mami and Kotoko in the same anime. Also when anime like Hajime no Ippo and Major used songs from same band for their OPs (Shocking Lemon for Ippo and Road to Major for Major). Attack on Titan also did it for modern fans to at least know what it feels like to have an unique band sang multiple songs for your favorite anime. |

I'd love to see ORESAMA back to making OP's, don't think they've been making things since 2017/2018 (idk if they disbanded though) kinda the same with Myth and Roid. Didn't really disband though more like the lead vocalist left and now their songs are more the batshit crazy type (kinda like an electronic version of Cö shu Nie) Fario-P said: Atlos said: Whoa, wait, ALI came back?!?!
