I know someone who was bullied through the use of the term, so of course mindfulness is fine and good but context really matters as well. The only anime traps they use are Astolfo,Hideyoshi and Felix.I am tired od seeing them.There are some really good traps like Ritsu Soma and Lin Xianming.These two actually look like women then those skinny dudes cross-dressing.Even memes have lost standard.Good riddance.The whole sub-reddit sucks with same overused memes and shows. |
| Uh, guys, what you are doing by saying "some trans people agree with the use of the term" is basically isolating the portions of the community that agree with you and ignoring the rest. It IS a controversial topic so not everybody is going to feel the same way about it, the trans community is not some sort of beehive. Of course some agree and some disagree with this rule. It is absurd that we are discussing here about another forum and their own policies, but I do think that they could have handled this situation better (auto-banning a polysemic word is ugh... they didn't think it through). |

| I never saw the term "trap" used outside the anime community or at trans people. Kind of sad how malicious individuals can cause such a divide in a community. My only worry is that given this newfound opportunity they will target the anime community in general. |
