THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Honestly, I feel bad for Angela. With the shit she's been going through, she doesn't look happy at all. Mentally, I think she's suffering a lot inside. It looks like Carole and Tuesday have been putting their ideas together for their album. Their performance carrie a serene and soft tone. It's great to see Gus also being a helping hand for them.

Such a bad time for ex-child actress. HiroC's character getting captured w. her "mother" fell ill, so no one to protect her from the reporters asking about HiroC's character. Final song of the album... Carole went to visit her old friend who entered illegally, and Tuesday w. Miyu-Miyu's character for Christmas shopping. He's paying the two for the tree. Spending time decorating the tree, and talking about how they spent Christmas like three best friends. Well, not really went nicely. Sakurai-san's character back to mother, or just being spy? Mamo's character got his house back. He didn't know about HiroC's character getting captured. Carole's friend released another song in the facility... about her? Playing the final song in the church w. organ. Producer asked Sakamoto-san's character to collab. w. the duo for the upcoming performance. ex-child actress, in depression, finally contacted HiroC's character, who doesn't seem to be in the jail. 25:05 next.

Roddy is the best! Buying an expensive gift for the girls. And quite cute...getting all shy about his little date with Tuesday ;P Shame Ezekiel's been deported - he seemed like quite a cool character Thought Angela would be stronger mentally...still though poor girl. But seriously, is it just me or is her 'mother' a crossdressing dude? Thought she was just playing along with Dahlia by calling her 'mamma', but now I'm getting a bit confused

Genuinely felt bad for Angela, too much pressure too soon and she's falling down the rabbit hole (kinda similar to Flora). Hope Tao can rescue her. Elsewhere, Denzel Curry really killed it once again with Ezekiel's song - a really moving farewell to Carole. Hope we still see Ezekiel again though. C&T's song was really amazing. Who knew Tobe was so skilled on the pipe organ? Also really nice to see Crystal make a return - Gus deserves so much more credit lmao

Roddy buying C&T a expensive real tree for Christmas is so sweet, he's a real buddy. Looks like the politics will come to an end finally. Amer's song for Carole was good C&T got praised by Tobe himself, thats a real achievement. It was great to see Crystal again, the collaboration gonna be awesome. Gus really came through for them as a Santa.

Too bad he won't have that much more screentime or more songs I guess He Roddy was pretty sweet this ep and Gus best Santa ever |

Music was overall dope as fuck as usual although I felt the vocals sounded too low for Ezekiel's (Denzel Curry's) song. Just turn the vocals up and it would be golden. Is it safe to say that with this particular shot and the fact that they say "refugee" throughout the whole show, that we can guess what happened on earth? I guess it's hard for even C&T to ignore the world around them with so much happening even in such close proximity to their personal lives. But there's not much they can do about it themselves except try to inspire people through their music. Angela is going through it bruh... seriously someone needs to give this girl a hug because she's going toward a downward spiral fast. Dope episode man. Only three left.

They explain in EP 15 that Mars has radiation that messes with the hormones of the human body turning people into the opposite sex or intersex (sorry not sure how to phrase it). It happened to the singer,Desmond,in that episode so I think it happened to Dahlia as well. |

I wonder if we get to know about Angela's parents - maybe she is related to some other (minor) char. Or maybe it was just to have a reason for her to take drugs/medicine. Everything getting tense now. Spencer trying to investigate. Carole & Tuesday working towards the Grammy. (They are the ones living still carefree.) Amer did another song. (Seems he impressed the guards - otherwise they would not have helped.) Tao might drop the bomb - with his hacking and probably discovering a connection betweent he Schartz guy and the advisor. (When they tried to manipulate and control Tuesday's mother as president.) Might get interesting. I they'll notice Tao hacking. And maybe Spencer in the end will warn him if he gets some info while being nerby ... then both working together. C&T will have some influence with music. There's also still Angela as a wildcard - she might join them.

Very great episode, we got to listen to different songs with their very different style ! It was a real Christmas atmosphere, with the church calm song, the tree and even the present made by Gus. Also Ezekiel / Amer sorta gave his last present to Mars, a powerful song actually. And on the very other side, Angela's dwelling deeper & deeper in bad thoughts. The medicine & pills she took can't improve her current status, in fact they could lead to an abrupt health issue.

Well. Shit just got super-real. This episode just keeps building. Like, first you think Amer's performance is going to be the emotional high point, then you get the church scene, then you get stressed Angela, it just keeps getting bigger and bigger and I'm honestly scared of these last three episodes. I'll be honest though, I don't really care about Angela's parentage. It's like the Rey thing, I hope we never find out, but knowing this show we probably will in some capacity... oh well. The performances this episode, by the way, were incredible. I love the rap, though I find it hard to believe that he convinced three prison guards to film him performing and then trusted them to send the footage to his friends so they can add the rest of the audio and edit it together, but other than that I love it. Everything I said last week still stands, though I have vowed to never predict the outcome of any fiction ever again, even my own.

this ep was insaneee ~theory time~ i think Angela was probably kidnapped as a baby from Earth (remember how she didn't find any birth records under Angela Carpenter) Dahlia is 100% not trans/like Desmond. he clearly abused Angela a lot, and then decided to change his appearance to make her feel better around him (as if he was a different person, not the abuser) he probably always dreamt of the celebrity life (for the money? idk) and decided to make Angela live for said dream obviously Angela must have some trauma from the abuse and had to take medicine for anxiety/ptsd (maybe someone can see what it was written on the pill bottles?) so, having an obvious panic attack, she overdosed hopefully Tao can help :/ well that was long sorry bout that, y'all

Damn Gus just went and did the impossible. This guy was not just all talk. He really got a collab with the best star, Mars diva for the taking. I thought he would get Flora to do it but damn. Can't wait for that Carole & Tuesday ft. Crystal performance at the Grammys. Also we get some best moments with the final song being done and being lauded by the devil Tobe himself. While love is in the air with Ezekiel dedicating his new song to Carole. Ezekiel X Carole is a thing now. This guy drops the best rap here. Tuesday also gets on a short date with Roddy(could this be another ship?). On the other hand the series is getting up for the final act now with the elections, Tao's backtrack and Angela falling under.

Great episode, it really feels like things are moving to the finale. I was glad to see Ertegun back on his feet, and even glader that he invited Roddy over just to chill and chat. He now knows that he has at least one person he can call a friend. I also liked when Tuesday invited Roddy to go look for a gift for Carole with her. And he was cool enough to give them a Christmas tree too, it might very well be Carole's first. That talk about Santa Claus was sad though. I mean, Carole is way over it, but while they were enjoying their holiday, she was waiting, and believing in something that would never come to pass. At least she had Amer, and their talk had a positive effect on him, he wrote and sang again. And this time it was pretty much for her, because she is what he thinks about when he thinks about home. Tao is now free too, and it seems that he is going to strike where it hurts. If he brings Schwartz down it will surely end up helping Kyle, and Spencer to bring Valerie, and Jerry down. It's kind of sad that Spencer got back there by lying to his mother, but he is just trying to prevent her from becoming a puppet/monster at the hand of those two. And Angela! She is feeling utterly alone, and confused right now. Her mama, who most certainly isn't really related to her, is in a serious condition in the hospital, and Angela doesn't know what to do. She even started taking those pills, and that can't be good. I know he is busy right now, but I hope Tao takes her cry for help seriously and go see her. It would be terrible if she just ended like this.

This series is such a roller coaster ride. From okay to great episodes in a blink of an eye. This one definitely is one of the great episodes and it is clear that we are approaching the climax and finale now. I honestly thought it was going to feel too convoluted to pull off a meaningful and exciting end. Carole and Tuesday's song was the first one I genuinely enjoyed since the full performance of Loneliest Girl, not that the ones in between were bad by any means just not on par. Enjoying Angela's and Tao's story-line thoroughly and cannot wait to see how that turns out. I am still feeling like I could take or leave the political subplot but as someone pointed out in the last episodes discussion politics and music have been heavily intertwined in real life in the past. Just look at Vietnam. So I have loosened up on that a bit as it makes more sense now. Valerie as she becomes more fleshed out does not really feel like Trump or Hillary which is really nice.

A while ago, this show got sort of all over the place and I find myself not excited to watch it each week, but just watching to see where it goes. If more episodes had the character development that this one did, I think I'd still be as excited as I was before. At least they're picking some things up before the ending. I was sure Dahlia was an androgynous person like Desmond, but in retrospect, I don't think it was ever confirmed, and it's possible that some people are right, that this was Angela's adopted father originally, who was abusive, and who took on the new identity of "mama" to try to erase that past and pretend to be someone else. I have no clue now, but it seems pretty suggested that Angela is an adopted immigrant from Earth, at the very least. At this point I only care strongly for Angela as a character, and maybe Tao. Their storyline has been more interesting than Carole & Tuesday's, who basically get everything they want, whenever they want it, in terms of their career (though not so much in terms of their relationships). Their only really difficult career hurdle was when they got booed at Cydonia the first year, and even then Crystal appeared to give them a pep talk and pull them out of it. I hope Angela recovers and I hope she collabs with Carole & Tuesday in the end. That's still my wish for the ending. This is rough seeing what Angela is going through. It's hard to feel anything warm for Carole & Tuesday knowing their lives are relatively cushy right now while Angela is suffering, and all C&T are thinking about is beating her in the Grammy awards. Their overestimating her seems like they view her as just a competitor and not as a real person with problems and vulnerability. They saw through the media what she's going through and still said "nah she'll be fine". It's not endearing. The prison music video was an unrealistic and ridiculous scenario. They should have had him steal or find a phone to do that and it would've made sense. Pretty sure guards in a prison would not be authorized to film inside it, and especially not to let a detainee broadcast a message to the world. It's a shame this show has such ridiculous scenarios because the song was good. I wish that entertainment media with a political message would not ignore realistic courses of events in getting their message across. So many things in this show would/could never happen in real life, which makes it harder to apply the political messaging to real life. There's a lot of emotional manipulation but not much logical exploration of the events unfolding. We still don't even know anything about what is going on on Earth. I guess it's just supposed to be a vague allegory for a country/place that is worse off, but knowing some circumstances of how and why that happened would at least make more sense of why people on Mars are prone to resist immigration from there. Maybe we'll find out the history in some big "reveal" near the end.

Great episode! Amer song for Carole was sweet in his own way, but I wish that they wouldn't make it sound so professional because it was shot in a freaking prison cell with eco and shit. They should've just released this version later on Spotify. Carole and Tuesdays final song for the album was terrific and Gus really turned out to be Santa. But man I don't like seeing Angela like this. She's probably my favorite character of the show so I really hope that she recovers. She's in disarray and I hope that Tao steps up and helps her. But I doubt that seeing as he's about to do something Illegal.

One by one, Angela's life is falling apart. The arrest of Tao, her manager's heart attack-esque situation, and her own conscious self, being someone of no origin, and maybe soon, AI overtaking her. Haha I like how Tobe is still as crazy as he his in his heyday, considering that his passion still stands for Carole and Tuesday's album. Gus went ahead for the kill for a collab, what gives? Thought that he would invite Flora but oh well...RIP to one-off characters that serves as stepping stones. It's still damn impressive that Ezekiel, placed under jurisdiction, can issue a new rap song in jail, adding to his repertoire of issues within Mars, and under a new name: Amer. Choosing the last song like a funeral, but with the solemn feeling, this last album song is coming to fruition and a really good one. Will this be the start of the finale, the end of Angela, which C&T will be overtaking her too? 3 episodes to go!

LOVE THAT SONG... the rhythm and the lyricvs itself are beautiful... and to tuesday, how is wish i have a gift she is receiving during Christmas... hahaha... |

| Heavenly episode The song to close the album was wonderful for my ears. "Gus really in Santa," hahaha, I can't believe he got a collaboration with Crystal for Carole and Tuesday, I was speechless, no doubt, it's a great gift, although Roddy's Christmas tree is not far behind, hahaha. The presentation of the Mars Grammy will be wonderful, how exciting! 😁 I liked the song that Amer dedicated to Carole, it moved me, it's a shame he was deported. On the other hand, Angela has entered into a menntal and existential crisis, poor thing. What will be your true identity. And Tao has started his attack on Schwartz, the damn political bastard who helps Tuesday's mother. I hope Tao wins this fight, and exposes the whole truth. | Oh! Look who's here! The supposed Top Star of Mars whose character simply disappeared from scene during practically the whole series... Now seriously, I don't know what to think about the idea of bringing a character who was forgotten since ep. 6 but leaving that aside, wouldn't a collaboration with such "famous" artist be more detrimental than favorable? I mean, C&T have some fans already but based on how magnificent this anime made Crystal look, I have the feeling she will end up overshadowing them. Honestly, some part of me was expecting someone like Flora to come back but if I have to be honest, I would have preferred to see the girls making their performance without any external help. Just them and their music but well. Let's see how this goes anyways. On the other hand, Angela not being Dahlia's daughter felt so out of the blue. Surely a lazy excuse to make her character go through some struggle (turning her, out of nowhere, into an addict of... antidepressants?) because it was necessary and because the Stalker issue was too poor in terms of character development to even be taken seriously. Really disappointed with how her development was driven during this second cour. As a whole, I didn't really like this episode. Sure, the songs and especially, C&T's performance at the church were great but the pacing was too rushed for moments and some scenes (Amer composing a song in prison, Angela falling into pills, etc.) felt really forced for me. |

First........Flying Lotus worked on that song that Amer/Denzel Curry did?!?! The music just gets better and better! C&T's song was so lovely. For a while I've been having the feeling that they have been trying to push for Tuesday to be more of the lead vocalist between the 2, but glad to see Carole kind of take the lead on this one. Was thinking this would have been their performance song but I'm sure they will do something amazing with Crystal. Angela, just wow. She is a mess right now. Assmuing those pills are supposed to be "fentanyl" and a little curious how she chose that. Were those the pills Mama was taking, did she have them already? We won't get the answer but interested in where the use of pills derived from. Sure we'll see Tao come to the rescue again.

So Carole and Tuesday are the examples of true music in Mars. I feel bad for everyone living there! Angela got into drugs a bit too fast. There was no tension or any development, so I didn't care that much about her. Female Trump's arc is one of the most boring parts of the story. Angela and Tao were the only characters I found interesting. Now, it's only Tao! They always show us that 'miracle' clip before every episode, but I feel like the actual scene will not be very miraculous. Carole and Tuesday's singing voices are good, but they lack any sort of power or emotion.

Despite the somewhat quicker pace than that does make certain scenes feel rushed, this episode was still pretty good. It was great to hear two greats songs for this episode. The first one was from Amer, who I still find it hard to believe he was able to get permission to record a song and post it on social media, but that aside, I think this one is better than his previous song from last week. As for Carole & Tuesday, their last song for their debut album was played at a church, with Tobe helping the girls out by play the church's pipe organs. This was one of the best songs they've made so far. Peaceful and powerful is what I would describe their song. =) Not only that, but Gus was able to give the girls an early Christmas present by having Crystal collaborating with them. Nicely done, Gus! =D And not to forget, Roddy was kind enough to buy a Christmas tree for the girls in Carole's apartment and he also visited Ertegun, where it's nice to see him getting his life back on track and was able to re-buy his property again. Angela is on a big downwards spiral. With her "Mama" in hospital, she's struggling to cope with everything that's happening around her. Knowing that her "Mama" most likely isn't her biological parent must be ripping her apart, as she's resorting to overdosing on drugs to try and help her, but it's just going to make it worse. At the very least, she was able to send a message of help to Tao, who was released on bail and was in the middle of launching his cyber attack on the corrupt Schwartz. I hope he helps Angela before it's too late...

If this series seriously wraps up in 3 episodes, I'm honestly going to be really triggered especially with some open-ended avenues that could go forward in another season or something. Tuesday still hasn't had the chance to confront her mother, Carole still has her father as a potential route going forward, then the mystery of Angela's mother, Ezekiel's character as well. I mean 3 episodes left and so many things plus everything set up at this moment. I had a feeling that the Beyonce of the series was going to be the one collabing with them; it was almost too obvious in fact. Man...I'm praying this doesn't get a screwy ending that like Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo had...come on Watanabe, don't fuck this up.

I ship Amer/Ezekiel and Carole so hard. Ezekiel is the bad boy while Carole is the sweet but tough counterpart. I'm pretty sure the collab with Crystal is going to be fire. Carole and Tuesday don't really struggle in this series. Yes, they had to get odd jobs to earn money and were boo'd off stage once but they're not struggling like Angela who had to deal with a stalker, was almost stabbed and now her mom is hospitalized and she's taking drugs to cope with her misery. To be honest, I've lost interest in both Carole and Tuesday. I am more concerned about Angela.

Some great songs this episode. A whole lot of crap is going down - most of it bad. I feel really bad for Angela. She has basically had her entire world flipped around. I am very curious about her real parents, as well as who is Mama.

Things are definitely going to go down now that Tao is also going to pitch in at taking down that Schwartz guy. Can't wait to see what will happen. Amer's song for Carole was beautiful. Seeing him back on Earth with his back towards us T^T But he straightened up his back, shows he's strong. Hope he does okay back on Earth and that we get to see him again soon :/ (Couldn't help but wonder if Carole's dad would have been able to help him out, since he was hanging out with a dangerous crowd back on Earth..not that we know the whole situation there). Their performance at the church was nice, looking forward to their performance with Crystal ^^ Never been a fan of Angela, but dang, I hate seeing her like that. The two people she had by her side aren't around at the moment, not knowing her past (wonder if she was also an orphan), and turning to pills :( Wonder how Tao will help her out...If he were to hack the system, wonder how soon he'd be arrested and if he'd have a chance to help her, or if he'll have to choose. I don't want to underestimate him, so I'm hoping he can do both...

SouthRzVa said: On the other hand, Angela not being Dahlia's daughter felt so out of the blue. I feel this wholeheartedly. Every since the Mars Brightest competition this show has just went downhill with bs melodrama and scenes that add nothing to the story. They could have easily hinted to Angela using medication due to stress or whatever, since Angela was clearly stressing over her career in the early eps. But now we re supposed to feel bad for her sudden addiction. I dont know. At least the music is good though. |

oh Roddy you such a gallant and generous bro! for buying that real x-mas tree for Tuesday as a present to Carole's b-day & xmas also. another fine rap by Ezekiel! Carole & Tuesday last closing song for their Album was heavenly great! LOL at the reaction of Tuesday! she overloaded by the sight of the character that's voiced by goddess VA Maaya Sakamoto! oh man! Angela is destroying her self! Need to have Tao be the saviour of Angela! 5/5.

Thing's doesn't look too good on Angela's side :/ hope she'll get better soon. Love both songs in this episode but Carole & Tuesday's my favourite :D Great episode! And I can't believe the girl's will have a duet with Crystal. I'm speechless and so happy for them! It's going to be amazing! ^^
