Japan has had to deal with quite a few unfortunate events this year, they only just had a heat wave a while ago. Hopefully, the rest of the typhoon season isn't as bad.

"Japan has been hit by its strongest typhoon in 25 years, causing at least six deaths and 160 injuries.
Typhoon Jebi made landfall in western areas, bringing heavy rain and reports of winds up to 172km/h (107mph).
In Osaka Bay it swept a tanker into a bridge and in Kyoto parts of a railway station roof came down.
Officials ordered more than a million people in affected areas to evacuate their homes amid warnings of high waves, flooding and mudslides.
It has already left tens of thousands without power and authorities have urged people to move to safety."

"Jebi, or "swallow" in Korean, was briefly a super typhoon and is the most powerful storm to hit Japan in 25 years following rains, landslides, floods and record-breaking heat that killed hundreds of people this summer."

"Tokyo: A powerful typhoon has slammed into western Japan, inundating the region's main international airport and blowing a tanker into a bridge, leaving thousands stranded."

"The 2,591-ton Houn Maru, which had been anchored in the bay, was swept toward the approximately 3,700-meter-long bridge around 1 p.m., damaging the sole land connection to the airport."

"The airport’s runway and the basement floor of a terminal building have been flooded, according to airport officials."

"The damage to one of the busiest airports in Japan frequented by visitors to cities in the Kansai area such as Kyoto, Osaka and Kobe could affect the country’s tourism boom."

"Top government spokesman Yoshihide Suga had encouraged the public to “evacuate early” and said at a news conference Tuesday morning that the government will “take all possible means” to prepare for a possible crisis."

"Evacuation orders were earlier issued in some areas of Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, Hyogo, Kagawa, Ehime and Wakayama prefectures. In Japan, evacuation orders are not mandatory and people often stay at home, only to be trapped by rapidly rising water or sudden landslides."

"Dozens of salvage barges were also swept away at Kobe and Osaka ports after their ropes snapped due to the strong winds. While some people remain onboard, there has been no reports of injuries, according to the coast guard."

"Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, who has been traveling across the country in an attempt to secure support for his bid for the ruling Liberal Democratic Party’s presidential election later this month, canceled his trip to the Kyushu region to deal with the typhoon."

Video TIME did on it.

Now my Input.
Japan has not been safe place to live in last few months with it's number of natural disasters.
Back in June on the 18th there was 6.1 magnitude earthquake here in Osaka.
Other prefectures had some of there own earthquakes that was lower on the magnitude scale.
Besides that there was heavy endless rain that made flooding and landslides in prefectures.
July and August seen record breaking heat waves that sent many thousands of people across Japan to the Hospital from heatstroke, heat exhaustion or other heat related illnesses..
I happen be one of them people who ended up in the Hospital from heat exhaustion.
Now this month being September it's Typhoon Jebi.
Why the videos show lots of damage that's only part of all the damage.

Well the country of Japan is in volcanic zone with lots of seismic activity.
Being volcanic zone is reason why Japan has very many hot springs.
As for the seismic activity low intensity tremors are very common but they do turn into Destructive earthquakes.
Have lots of rain can be common since always have storms coming in from the Sea.
Now for the really bad heat wave that hit not long back, that's thanks to global warming.

Earthquakes, Heavy non-stop rain, flooding, landslides, Heat waves and now Typhoon.
Japan has not been safe friendly country the last few months.

There is a bit of stormy thunder right now, was a heat wave, but looks like japan took it harder. I hope for them a fast recovery. This reminded me of raw danger I played on ps2 back then.

You mean inside the ring of fire, yes?

My country is also inside the ring of fire as well. However, natural calamities here such as earthquakes aren't that much tremendous and frequent. If there were very strong natural disasters, I think there were around 3 IIRC.

Yes, Ring of fire zone, don't know why was thinking volcanic zone.
Mean they kind of same thing.

If just scale of 3 that's not that bad.
Know here in Osaka has do with the earths plates under Osaka where they meet.

Even so, i don't regret that i settle down in Osaka.
Guess cause Tokyo felt to stereotypical. XD
Have family in Hyogo but wanted some distance.
Kyoto would have been lovely but very costly.
Really has do with my friends, when moved back to Japan my best friend let me live with her here in Osaka.
Then got my own apartment here in Osaka and Osaka became my home.
She is mess right now but she is still very nice and friendly city.

If Jebi was the strongest typhoon to hit Japan in 25 years, they have been fortunate.
The sustained winds were about 100-110 mph from what I read, far less than the 130-135 mph winds of Harvey, or Maria with 150+mph winds, or not as nearly as strong as Typhoon Vera, which was like a category 5 hurricane when it hit Japan in 1959.
Still, 100 mph winds can still wreck havoc.
