| The main issue is why would a major studio need to do the project, especially in the case of say KyoAni who is on their own production committee. I'm also somewhat waving how I believe your process you laid out for studio contracts is backwards. Usually studios reach out to apply for the contract the production committees don't go to them. But that would be an important point because if a studio opts in to do the project but then pulls out to protect their reputation all it does is worsen their reputation. But if I were to interject kind of a guess, I don't believe hentai is as bad for reputation as you might think. Especially if it's an established studio that branches out that opens up quite a few directs that they can produce. Because I just think of a studio like Arms that still has some well established series but notably has a strong focus in ecchi and hentai series. Fun side fact, J.C. Staff is a major studio with about half a dozen hentai under their belt, granted they're all from the early to mid 90s. |

if big major studio produce hentai, is it gonna ruin their reputation? That would depend on what the studio's reputation was before producing said hentai, and how well the hentai turned out. If a well-known studio were about to go belly-up, their concern about "reputation" would likely take a back seat to turning a good profit, if a deal like that were presented. |

| I can see Shaft doing a hentai because of Shinbo, he has directed a few hentai in the 90's and early 2000 when he was a freelancer and not attached to a specific studio. |

| Studio Deen, the studio behind Konosuba, Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu, Higurashi, and Full Moon wo Sagashite made a hentai once, but it doesn't look like it was a great success. https://myanimelist.net/anime/2721/Reinou_Tantei_Miko J.C. Staff, the studio behind Toradora, Raildex, Little Busters, Shokugeki no Souma, and Sakurasou made 8 hentai, none of which were very good. Although it might seem like a good idea, I think it would be better if they teamed up with an actual hentai studio rather than just doing it on their own. I'm sure Xebec could handle the task well, but they're dwarfed by KyoAni in terms of net worth. |
