This is weird.
Most people are watching the subs, but I'm watching the dub and all the episodes are numbered strangely..
But for the dub, episode 20's events happened in this episode.

So Ramba Ral and Amuro meet.
If I were a fellow Zeon soldier, I'd love to have a drink with this guy.

That's because the dubs missed out episode 15

Amuro continues to annoy me. That guy needs a boot to the face.

I think they didn't dub all episodes for some reason. I'm mainly watching dub but I had to watch subs for the missing parts; they all came in the same torrent.

Proper order! Amuro deserves everything he gets. Grow a pair of balls and deal with the cards you've been given. *Walks away in disgust*

Where the hell is Char... I miss him so.

Well, despite my bashing of Amuro during the last episode.....I really liked this one. I guess Amuro just got too cocky and thought that he was beyond reproach and all of this was a shock to him. I suppose he sees defeating Ramba Ral as a way of proving himself.

I think Ramba Ral is a fine adversary for now. Char will surely return someday!

I liked the little face off between Ral and Amuro, both actually seeing each other's faces. And Ral actually rapelling onto the Gundam just to finish his speech, badass haha

Is it bad that I laughed when Mirai inverted the ship and all the orphan kids got concussions? But at least Bright-san had his seat belt on. LOL

Ramba Ral was epic! Escaping from his exploding unit by rappeling using Gundam and while finishing his speech. Not many enemies even try to escape their exploding MS, but he did it in style. I think this guy is bigger badass than Char.

Oh Amuro, you are currently best Gundam pilot because you have most experience of it. Only Fraw Bow has been only other pilot to pilot it and she did pretty well. I would not be surprised if she would be as good pilot as Amuro if given more experience.

Oh man why can't Amuro grow up so fast :(

Even Kira Yamato wasn't a cry baby like he was.

And no Char as usual :(

When can we see him again O___O

Can't wait for more episodes!!!

I actually like Amuro, maybe I'm dumb. He is a bit of a brat, but I mean, a lot of teenagers are. I can't wait for Char to come back. Seems like the next episode is going to be intense based on the preview.

Ramba Ral is cool.

Amuro got all excited when Ryu came to look for him... lmao

Fraw Bow, how stupid can you be? She (while stupidly in uniform) carelessly shouts Amuro's name after she's captured, blowing his cover. Then after they get to leave she asks "what's wrong?" ... not even a shred of awareness of the situation. Yay Sunrise!

I'm glad they put him in the brig. Amuro is way too proud and selfish for his own good.

I don't know how well Ryu would do, but I liked Sayla piloting the suit before. Amuro's just the most experienced Gundam pilot. Others could nearly nearly as well (if not just as well or better) given the experience.

His standoff with the Gouf was pretty interesting given the earlier events in the episode.

Yes, Ral is the man!! I suspect he won't be in the show much longer but I'm enjoying the hell out of him and Hamon while they're here.

Pretty damned epic battle this episode. The Gouf and one Zaku almost took out the Guntank, Guncannon and White Base on their own. The Gundam severing both of the Goif's arms as awesome too, only wish it hadn't been previewed last episode.

Episode in which there is construct and even good action, this time in the story is the character of Mirai to shine above all because of his ability as a strategist, however our Amuro from again demonstrated its immaturity, which is reflected in his way of facing the problems and choices that carries in the fighting. The interesting question that arises from the clash between Ramba Ral and Amuro, is to figure out which one is better on the battlefield and how much is due to the merits of their own robots.

Just listen to yourselves. You always say that Amuro is a bratty teenager but the White Base/Trogen Horse (whatever you prefer) always send Amuro out there without a second thought with no breaks and always expect him to dish out a perfect performance. Amuro came back and rescued them and they lock him as a reward because Bright said that he was going to replace Amuro just for making his own strategy besides the crew said they were going to execute him A TEENAGER. You may claim it's Amuro's doing but it's about time you know it was never Amuro's fault and know that the White Base/Trogen Horse treated him wrong.

That was a really solid mobile suit duel, and shows what really sets this anime apart. Gundam received some serious damage this episode and barely came out on top. I also loved how the lack of resources influenced many of the tactical decisions the pilots on both side made.

This episode and the past 3 or so made me really start to hate Amuro because he's just an arrogant, selfish prick. Even Kai has more stability than him, despite the fact that his skills in a Mobile Suit are not up to par as Amuro's. I'm starting to question how people can like this guy if he's just too spontaneous. Char's been out for a while now. And I'm starting to think that Kai is no the person who he thinks he is.

That's what I thought too.

Overall a pretty solid episode. The fight with the Gouf is sure gonna earn Amuro some brownie points in the eyes of that Zeon female officer, given Ramba knows who he is now.

Glad to see Amuro's finally back to white base and one question are the old people and kids still on the white base or what? The blue Gundam's weapon's sick too because of how original it is! A metal rope that electrifies what it touches!

This.

Also, he's a teenaged kid experiencing the traumas of war first-hand. The show has made it VERY clear over the course of many episodes that he is struggling mentally from everything that has happened so far. I can't believe people in this thread are commenting about how he's acting arrogant and bratty, that's incredibly reductive.

Ramba Ral is the man! One of the cool things about being pilots is the fact that you do not know what your enemy looks like. It makes the face-to-face hold all the more weight, and it also opens up the possibility of accidentally or purposely running into the enemy ignorant to them. The tavern scene showed how tense that dynamic can be!

Specifically, there were many different ideas going around. The first is that of warring factions not holding any ill-will towards each other outside of the battlefield. The issue isn't with Amuro, they go so far to offer him a meal. The issue is with their cause. When it was revealed that he was a federation soldier, it almost appeared to continue this line of thought. 'We're not enemies right now, but we will be soon so good luck.' Almost however, because Ramba showed that he can have an air of love to him but keep his eye on the prize. Tactfully tricking them with a facade of mercy and tailing them to reap greater rewards.

I'll just say it left a huge impression for the man, numerous sides of his character, where his duty starts and his kindness stops, and generally just having a scene as tense as that rules. As Amuro was surrounded by his enemies without their direct knowledge of him it reminded me of when he was hiding under the bed sheets when he visited his mom.

Following that, having made Amuro and Ramba see each other face to face, their rivalry has become personal. Their battle involved some of the coolest tricks like the shield jump, the giant robot samurai cut, and the grapple to escape the exploding mobile suit. And ultimately it has given Amuro another Char, someone to battle and prove himself against. Something very much needed after his skills and his place on the crew have been put into question.

I can't help but see the duel between him and Ramba as Amuro missing the point though. He is an excellent pilot, but because he is rash and overconfident, it leads to putting everybody in danger, proving that he can win in another fight shouldn't alleviate the issue. That said, it could still play into it in a beneficial way depending on how things go.

I would also like to say that I do actually like Fraw Bow and Kai. Fraw may be overly emotional or jealous, but the fact that she will both reprimand and defend Amuro from the others makes me feel like she genuinely wants the best for him. Like Amuro, she simply has some uncontrollable emotions. As for Kai, the reason I have come to really like him is that despite having a loud mouth and a pessimistic outlook, he has guts. When it is his job, he puts his life on the line! It's a simple contrast between his outward and inward demeanor but it makes for a likable character.

This episode caused me to dislike the White Base crew more than before, almost everyone. Amuro came back and rescued them and they lock him lol. Besides that, Mirai destroying one of the Zakus using the White Bases’s engines was kinda cool!

Ramba Ral and Hamon are really cool as person, too bad that Ramba's mobile suit was destroyed but at least he can still fight even after that.

The development of Ramba Ral was good. He looks a lot like an old boss/co-worker I had who was a military veteran and one of the meanest people I have ever met, but Ramba Ral is a decent person fighting for a bad side. It's sad that he had to meet Amuro and Frau in this situation, but he is a soldier at heart. What would he be like during peace?

What a prick thing to say to somebody who has fought alongside you and saved you numerous times.
